The owner of this outfit is a misognomist, crude and uneducated. They are a rip off and money grabbing. It seems as if all the swamp things are now in business. Don't use this company for any of your pumbing needs.

Tried calling the office 5184383831 to discuss the two invoices I received for a visit on 1/12/22 and 1/25/22 but constant busy. I have a typical suburban house with a 2nd floor bathroom with a toilet clog. No children. Toilet was removed by me. Ralph and partner arrived and tried to snake the drain. Snake reached all the way down to the basement main drain but clog still there. Ralph exclaims its something he has never seen before! It must be a pipe within a pipe! Great acting. Ralph says he has to come back with the camera and might have to open a wall to get to the pipe. Why could he not do the camera now? He left and charged code 105A $217.95. On his return visit on 1/25/22 he used the camera and 18 feet in the toilet pipe was a biomass that opened and closed around the camera. Seems that an experienced plumber dealing with grease clogs would know how grease and biomass clogs act. Snaked it again this time more vigorously and cleared the clog. This time charged me code 401A $286.95 for the camera, and code 101D $595.95 - $217.55 (visit charge) for a grand total of $882.90 before tax to clear a toilet clog. Bathroom was left a mess with snake splatter all over the walls. A day later the main drain backed up because the clog got caught in the main drain trap. Ralphs partner should have realized when he had the horizontal drain fitting open that day that the water was flowing into the bucket when it really should have been flowing the opposite direction to the main drain trap. Total inexperience. My septic guys said I was ripped off and they should have known to open main drain trap to make sure water flowed out of the house. Don't ever call them.

We called RR to repair a simple clog. The technician was in our home for 6 hours, calling his colleagues to ask questions on how to fix it. In the end it costed way more than I was prepared to pay, nearly the cost of two new toilets. Within days, sewage was bubbling up in our bathroom and when we called a new plumber he explained the the clog was never properly dealt with and the technician did a terrible job. When we called RR, mentioning the "30 day guarantee" they said we were lying (??) and they wouldn't refund us. The total plus the damage and repairs ended up costing us roughly what our mortgage is each month. NEVER work with this company, they're awful.

I called Roto-Rooter and they came out within an hour. They would have been there sooner but I had to drop my kids off at daycare. The serviceman Rob was professional and courteous. He even put on the slip on floor protectors before he came in the house. It is amazing how small details can mean a lot because I have had service people come into the house and get dirt everywhere. He examined the situation and after asking me questions about my septic suggested getting the septic tank pumped out first. He explained how if the tank was full snaking would be useless. Also pulling off the drain cap could make a big mess in my basement. So he gave me a solution that involved getting the tank pumped out, which I had to do anyway, then calling him if the problems persisted. I appreciated his honesty and he did not charge me for his time. I called Big Willy's Septic and they fixed the problem quickly. Roto-Rooter followed up with me to see if the problem was resolved. Even though they did not perform a paid service Rob's honest, professional opinion was just as valuable because it saved me money and now I feel I have a plumbing service I trust in the Roto-Rooter of Schenectady.

I had service performed at my residence on 5/19/17. I had an issue with my sewer drain which had backed up. I had a similar issue 1.5 years ago and the drain was snaked and I was told that there were "roots" in my system. Apparently, the first snaking of the drain was not adequate as they found more roots in the system. This time, it was a substantial amount, so I find it hard to believe that they grew back in such a short period of time. In any event, two technicians arrived around 9:30 am to perform work at my residence. They made it seem like this would be an all day affair, even more than all day, especially after finding a second issue with the sewer drain. I was surprised when the gentlemen were all packed up and ready to go around 2 pm. The bill for this work was over $5K. I called that night to speak to a manager, since I, as the homeowner, was not made aware of the price nor did I sign for the work to be performed. Furthermore, the address was incorrect on the invoice. I was finally able to speak with a manager, Carlos, on Monday, who proceeded to harass and yell at me for the 20 minutes we were on the phone. I asked to be provided with a summary of how much they charge for labor or documentation regarding how much they charge for certain jobs. Carlos vehemently refused, stating "We charge by the job." As a customer, this is quite frustrating as it seems as though Carlos and his crew can pick a number out of the sky and see if you're willing to pay it. Carlos showed up to my home last evening (half an hour later than what he promised) and proceeded to yell at me in my own home. When I called him on his inappropriate behavior, there was no apology, just an excuse that "I'm Cuban and that's how I talk." He offered me a measly $500 back on the job that was performed. I asked him for his manager's phone number so I could report his rude behavior, he said "My boss is the IRS." I told him surely he doesn't own ALL of the Roto-Rooters in the USA and finally he relented and gave me the phone number to corporate. I called corporate today with little resolution there as well. They stated they would file my complaint and look at it when it came time to renew the contract. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company and would strongly recommend you look elsewhere for your plumbing needs.

The technician showed up within the scheduled time frame and was courteous and professional. The main sewer line was cabled directly from the basement access by the technician who spent approximately one hour working. I understood this specific service would be $299 plus tax. The bill was presented for $384.00 for the labor, plus an additional fee of $18.95, listed as other, apparently for "travel time". The total paid with tax was $435.19. I subsequently learned that the average total price charged by several area plumbers for this service is indeed $299 plus tax. I was not informed of the higher amount prior to the work and there was never any mention of an extra charge for travel time. My main issue is the failure of a business to be completely clear, upfront and honest about what they will be charging, particularity when the job is clear cut with no unforeseen problems. If nothing else, adding the $18.95 with absolutely no mention until the bill is presented is deceptive, taking advantage of the customer.

They were very prompt is dispatching someone - which to me was very important since all the drains were clogged. I've had to clear roots out 3 times in the last 15 years so I kind of new ahead of time what to expect. They gave me a 2 hour window that day - just an hour after I called. Then called back an hour later to say someone would be there within the hour. Very prompt. The technician arrived on time and went to work and verified a clog in the main drain (septic line). He said he could clear it from outside with an electric snake. He quoted $375 plus an 18.95 surcharge for gas & travel. I questioned this because just 3 years another company did this same job for $200. But he was here, and said if he could not clear it there would be no charge. He was able to clear the line with no issues and pulled out a ball of roots the size of a softball. I think that they deserve the A rating due to the responsiveness and ability to get the job done. However, I do feel the service was overpriced.

In 2010, about a year after I purchased my home, the drain in the basement began backing up when the washing machine was draining. They snaked the line, and this took care of the problem until April of 2014. I believe the price was around $300. This was a bit high but I was happy with the work and the fact that the issue was taken care of. He also gave me pointers about how to keep the line from clogging in the future. In April of 2014, the issue reoccurred. A different guy came out this time and I explained what had happened previously. Before snaking the line, he plunged the basement drain, and this took care of the issue. I was still charged over $200 for this and it took practically no time at all! I understand I would still need to pay for the service call, but it did not seem right that it cost almost as much to plunge the drain (something I could do myself) as it did to snake the line. I appreciated them being able to come out quickly and at times that were convenient for me, and they were able to solve the problem both times. Because of the high prices, I have decided not to use this company again.

Quentin was my hero last night! My wife was giving our son his evening bath (about 8pm) when we noticed water on the floor in the basement. After an attempt to fix the issue myself revealed I was over my head I called Roto-Rooter. Quentin was the tech to respond and had the clog cleared and we were able to use water and the bathrooms again by 11 PM.

Snaked the drain and replaced a part in the toilet. The price was $165 To snake and $135 to put part in toilet tank. Also there was a service fee of about $18.00. I think the price was very high, which would be the reason I may not Use this provider in the future.

I called the company in some what of an emergency. I had hired a company to work on my basement and they hit a main sewer line. I needed a plumber immediately to fix this in order to complete the work. I called at 4pm and they had a plumber out to my house within the hour. The woman on the phone taking my appointment was very professional. The plumber, Sayeeg, came and did an estimate on the job and made an appointment to come the next morning. He was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable on what he was doing. The company called the next morning to confirm and the Sayeeg returned and finished the job quickly and did a very good job. We were so pleased with his work and want him to return to help with other concerns inside our home. The price was a little high, but it seems appropriate for the job that was done. Honestly, we were so relieved to have someone so professional come so quickly and do such a good job, that we were fine with the estimate.

This was about 7 or 8 yrs. ago. 2 blockages occurred with wipes. First was the day before Thanksgiving. 2nd one I had big problem with the scheduling people and ended up telling the guy to "you know what himself", he made me that angry. The plumbers themselves were fine. Very professional and knew what they were doing. I don't remember for sure but I believe they arrived hours after they were due, at least the first time. All in all the plumbers were great. Told us how to prevent clogs and we haven't had one since then. Not certain I would use them again though, just because of the scheduling problems and the attitude of one particular scheduler.

We didn't use them mainly because we thought the price was a little high but we could change our mind. They quoted us a bunch of different options. One was a cable cleaning. The price was $576 and it included a senior discount and tax. Then they quoted us a price for water jet cleaning which was $814. Finally they quoted us to replace the 75 feet of pipe with PVC pipe in our basement and they quoted a range between $1496-1696 for replacing just the inside pipe. If they had to go outside there would be an additional $2,000 plus taxes. The guy that came out was very good. They were quick to respond and came right on time. We didn’t compare their price. We had originally called them because we were considering getting our bathroom done and we wanted to clean out the pipes.
