Description of Work: I chose them because they were the cheapest and came the day after I called. We had yellow jackets in our porch ceiling going in and out near our front door. I the past we have treated bothersome nests ourselves, but the opening must not have been anywhere near the nest, so store bought wasp spray could not reach the source. Absolute used a power that got deeper into the area as well as a spray on the outside for wasps returning. After 24 hours w didn't see any live wasps. After a week, some are still coming out and dying one the porch floor. We were told this would happen since such a large nest would have young continue to hatch for a while. Cost was about $250

 + -1 moreThis is my third year renewing their around-the-calendar contract. As soon as I call about a specific problem -- such as teeny ants in the bathroom sink -- APC arrives promptly and deals with it, and the problem does not reappear. In one case one year, mice did reappear and APC pursued a search for additional entry points to the building until they found all of them. End of mice problem. The office staff answer the phone promptly, answer questions, and are a pleasure to do business with. Would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: My house backs up to the woods, which brings both pleasure as an overall environment and the potential for animal life in the house. APC came to the house and did an intial workup of problems I had seen and potential problems for pests that the building itself posed. APC provides me around-the-calendar care, sending postcards or phonecalls to alert me to an upcoming periodic treatment. Or they can come just for your specific instance of a pest invasion. Uses treatment materials not toxic to pets or children. Scheduled treatments on my around-the-calendar plan are for carpenter ants, wasps, etc., are outside the house. Staff are professional and very personable, and I usually see/speak with the same person for my house each time, so that person is familiar with my property and its problems. Staff are very knowledgeable about the insects or other animals they are dealing with. They make good recommendations for prevention of trouble, such as moving the wood pile away from the exterior wall of the house. They also respond to unscheduled needs, such as sudden appearance of mice in the basement. The company sends a very informative and readable newsletter about insect and animal pests, quarterly I think.

 + -1 moreRichard came out and inspected cellar, attic, exterior woodwork. Told me several areas of damage that I'd thought were caused by insects were caused by water. Told me in several cases how I could handle minor infestations by myself. Told me not to worry about certain bees, wasps, etc. -- they wouldn't do structural damage and were unlikely to harm anyone if undisturbed. Proposed to use a certain pesticide on powder post beetle infestation in cellar, but was perfectly willing to change to borate when I asked him to use it because it is less toxic. I appreciated his honesty, his taking the time to educate me, and his flexibility with regard to substance applied.
Description of Work: Evaluated property for insect infestations; sprayed borate in cellar to control powder post beetles.

After having hired another company and paying them approx the same fee I called APC before my agreement with the other co. was complete because they were not getting the job done. After coming and going around the house with me the service person suited up got out a ladder and thoroughly applied a pesticide to get rid of the wasps and hornets. She even found a nest that I did not know existed because you had to be poking around to find it. She even seemed surprised by the location and the nest itself, I guess it was incognito, it just looked like a bit of dirt at the edge of the roof line. It was satisfying to see dead wasps and hornets around my property for days after the treatment. They did a routine follow up spray as winter approached and that was all that was needed. I have yet to see a wasp or hornet coming or going around my eaves and it has been almost a year!

 + -1 moreThey are reasonably professional and the incidence of ants has generally been low. We used them for several years after a bad experience with Orkin. The first service techs we had were very good, however we have gotten service of irregular quality over the last couple of years. The key issues are uncertainty in scheduling. They would call to tell us they were coming over a span of time and then nearly always come on the first day, which often gave us little time to react. They even came when we asked them not to. We have tried to schedule our window washing to occur after they come since they have not been good about keeping our windows clean. To be fair, it is not easy to spray at our house and not get some on the windows, but they did much better in the first few years. The owner is very professional but he is not as good at helping his field and office staff meet his standards.
Description of Work: Exterior spray primarily for carpenter ants and bees. Sometimes sprayed inside when there was clear evidence of a nest.
