A LETO BROS PAVING CO

Experience was terrible. Company did not adhere to promised schedule, poor quality asphalt application and final finish, poor grading and compacting led to cracking in numerous areas 3 years after work was completed. Did not saw cut at the end of driveway, where meets the main road as promised, resulting in cracking and disintegration of asphalt. Because the grading and bed work was poor, I had to order $500 in topsoil to regrade lawn up to meet the new asphalt height. Crew solicited neighbors business under a different company name - I could go on, but I think I will stop here.

.I am writing this review many years later (20 years later as a matter of fact ) which i will explain why. When we first moved into the house it was new and needed a driveway. We hired Leto and told them we thought our grading was off. They put in the driveway and the grading remained off. Then came , letter writing, court, with the result oft working with Leto some more.. He put in the driveway 2 more times; and the grading remained off. We got water in the garage. We gave up. This year may 17, 2013, I got another company which I wrote a glowing review for fixed the problem without any difficulties. They saw that the grading was off. I dont know what Leto's problem is but I was not happy with them at all.

The morning they were to come and remove the old driveway and regrade I took off from work because I wanted to make sure they understood that the grading needed to be adjusted. They did not show up. I called the office and was told that they had changed the schedule and would not be there till sometime in the afternoon. No apology. When they did show up, there was a backhoe operator and a second individual directing the backhoe operator. I explained that the main reason for replacing the driveway was to adjust the grade so I would not get water in the garage. This wasn't easy because during removal of the old driveway, the individual directing the backhoe operator spent the entire time on his cell phone talking to his buddy in California. When they came back for the paving, again I explained about the grading. At each instance I was told "don't worry we do a lot of these, you won't get water in your garage." I still get water in my garage when we have a heavy rain. I also have indents in the driveway from my tires. I would never recommend Leto Bros to anyone. They did not do the job I requested and the paving is inferior quality.

Excellent. Removed the old driveway and installed new compacted base the first day. Returned a day later and installed new driveway with no problems. No damage to lawn or property. Site was totally clean with no debris whatsoever. Would highly recommend A+A+

Leto's backhoe operator hit the corner of our garage during excavation, causing crack in wall from top to bottom, turning block at the same time. Workmen also failed to install geotextile fabric over clay soil which resulted in ground "rupturing" through freshly rolled blacktop. They attempted to cover this up, insisting that fabric was there (it wasn't). Water ended up sitting against house instead of draining to street. Drainage that was promised did not occur. At first, one brother said they would make good to my full satisfaction when they discovered they were wrong. Then the other brother came by and said I should be 70% satisfied with their remedy. They removed the one portion of the driveway that ruptured (no fabric or stone base) and added a layer of fine mix to improve drainage along house. They never returned to repair cracked garage wall although they said they were sending someone over no fewer than three times.

We were told they would excavate on one day and lay the base and finish the next day. Instead we were given the heads up they would need to do it in one day so they could proceed to their next job but they didn't start work at our house until the afternoon. The result was a rushed, careless job with property damage. Several other contractors have advised that the asphalt was not rolled out early enough resulting in large chunks that easily come loose.

In June of 2007, just over 2 years after installation, large cracks appeared and the driveway has sunk in spots. On July 2, 2007 Tony Leto stopped by and said it need a resurfacing job which would cost approximately $1400. He said he wouldn't do it because he was "too busy." Contacted 3 other paving companies. They would resurface the drive for about the same price but would not guarantee anything because Leto did not put in the proper base in the first place. If Leto did the job right in the first place we would not have this problem in just over 2 years time. Now we have to spend over $3,000 to have it all ripped up, and a proper base put down to do the job right. The last driveway we had lasted for 20 years, not 2.

THEY HAD THE BEST PRICE, THEY WERE NOT EVEN REALLY CLOSE TO THE OTHER TWO COMPANIES THAT GAVE US ESTIMATES. THEY WERE WAY CHEAPER. THAT WAS PRETTY MUCH THE THING THAT WE BASED OUR DECISION ON.

I WOULD GIVE THEM STRAIGHT A'S. THEY DID EVERYTHING EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. THEY DID THE ORIGINAL DRIVEWAY 15 YEARS AGO, AND I CALLED THEM BACK TO DO THIS ONE BECAUSE THEY DID A GREAT JOB ON THE FIRST ONE.
