Hired Sun Enterprises last year 2016 during the Aug fair promotion...I was told by Greg **** the salesmen that i would be the first one to get the shed built as soon as the fair was over...needless to the salesmen who owned Funk Outdoor Enterprises, poured the pad( acting as a separate entity) , in early Sept. He told me to put off the landscaping so as the builders wouldn't disturb anything. So after a couple of weeks and numerous calls to the company, and complaining, they finally sent a crew out in the second + week of November .In talking with the crew they said they normally dont do sheds, mostly barns. I thought the crew did a good job until i took a much closer look and moved things around. The back wall was 3/4 of an inch off the pad because they never nailed it down. They nailed down the ends but forgot the middle and because the wood was bowed so bad, it left a huge gap, that i had to cover from the outside so no snow, etc would get in. Also noticed the window boxes were cracked, probably last of the pile they had to choose from. Over the winter , 1/4 of the shingles came off. I called in the spring to have Sun( talked to Keith, think he is the owner) to come out and fix them and remove an old shed. At that time ( Memorial Day)I was told he would order new window boxes and he would talk to a guy about the back wall and see what they could do to bring it down. Said the gap above the door was normal. Ive called numerous times throughout the summer with no response back. i ended up caulking the whole back wall between the bottom stud and the concrete from the inside and outside because i couldn't wait anymore since water, bugs, etc were coming in.. Also the front doors that had a 1 inch gap above them, all they did was nail a piece of green vinyl siding on the wood, so it would blend in, but still left the rest exposed.. none of their sheds on display had this issue...and the doors rub together when the weather changes...fiberglass isnt suppose to do that. But i also noticed the doors were very poorly made. very disappointed. Tried all summer to contact them , leaving many messages on the phone and no response back.. When i talked to a rep at the fair, he said they use different doors now and to keep calling to complain. Why, just get excuses.. I was looking for a rebate of some kind for the shoddy workmanship. Probably why i never got called back..
Description of Work: New shed built on concrete pad signed at time of fair promotion deal.. Aug 2016

Things went pretty well and was completed within a week of signing the contract. The shed was installed in one day, despite torrential downpour and thunderstorms that blew through during construction. They were open to negotiating on price and although they were not the cheapest we spoke with, they seemed to be very responsive, professional, and qualified. The shed appears to be constructed well and there are no complaints on the quality or price we paid. The only negative is that because of the heavy rains and our soggy lawn, they could not control the mud issues. Mud got everywhere on the shed as they were building it, inside and out. Our lawn was very muddy and trampled in the area that they were working. They tried to control some of it by laying down some plywood, but it wasn't very effective. They apologized for it and to be honest I don't think that there was anything they could have done to avoid causing such a mess. I only wish that they had come back at a later time to clean up. As a result, my husband spent the better part of the following weekend, power washing the exterior while I hand washed the interior as best as we could. If I wanted to nit-pick, I could also comment that they left (most likely unintentional) remnants from their lunch, which my dogs were all too happy to find. They also smoked on site which I find unprofessional and bothersome as a non-smoker, but I did not find any cigarette butts. I would definitely hire this company again.
Description of Work: Sun Enterprises built us a 12x10 carriage-style garden shed under their "good" material/spec. list. Included in our price was 3 extra-large windows, portable ramp, and a potting bench. We also included ground cloth and gravel base, which was installed by their landscaping subcontractor the day before.

Contract was facilitated through Funk Enterprises for Sun Enterprises. Contact was signed in May for a September 2010 construction. Summary follows: A) Demolition and Removal of existing structure: Process went smooth and within 4 hours the 33 year garden house was gone. Minimal extra clean up was required. We were flexible on the start times and it was not an issue. Communication was very good Rating of A. B) Construction: Sun Enterprises handled the construction. This was plagued by construction delays due to damaged material from Lenco and weather. The shed was contracted to use Hardie Panels which were impervious to rodents, weather etc. but were harder to handle during construction. Sun used staples in lieu of nails citing that it helped to maintain wall integrity during the erection process. Note Hardie manufacturer recommends nails. Result was that we had caulk and paint the structure in order to hide the staples. Trim boards were of heavy plastic and made by Azect. Very durable material. However the construction could have been a bit better by ensuring that the 2x4?s were straight and that the trim used white colored nails instead of staples. There were some stapling errors on the Hardie panels but are hidden from view. Sun was very reasonable in adding additional roof supports from 24? on center to 16? on center. Additionally, Sun accommodated us for the roof color change to correspond to the main structure house roof. What was a disappointment was that the crew left behind a live power shot round used to affix the pressure treated wood to the foundation. Luckily there were no small children around. Sun?s crew should have done a better job in accounting for the live round. The doors and front fascia detail were very well constructed and did not use staples in which to fasten the trim boards. According to FUNK, paint will not adhere to the plastic. Overall, the end result could have and should been an ?A? but because of some constructions errors, trim stapling and leaving behind a live round, the rating drops to a C-. C) Painting: The price was very reasonable. However, the job could have used some better communication and skill for the caulking and the painting. I would give the job a C+. Overall, our new garden shed appears to be fairly well constructed and painted and warrants a ?B-? overall rating. The misaligned wall studs have been covered with three wall cabinets. However the trim still has the staples showing. Writer does not know if these are rust proof and only time will tell. Prognosis is that the shed may last as long as the old one. Suggest to those who are considering using Funk and Sun to construct a new shed to sit down and thoroughly go over the construction details in order to insure the construction of a quality shed.
Description of Work: We had contracted Sun Enterprises to remove and replace our 33 year old garden originally constructed by the owner on a 16 ft by 8 ft concrete pad.. The summation is in three sections: A) Demolition and Removal of existing structure. B) Construction of New Building. C) Painting of structure

They came when they said they would come. They worked until the job was complete. They were meticulous about avoiding stepping on my plants and cleaning up any debris as to not leave anything behind. I would recommend these people to anyone!
