Custom Cabinetry by Zack

I hired him to make CUSTOM cabinets because my kitchen window and sink were not centered with each other and stock sized cabinets wouldnâ t work . I also said I was not changing my wallpaper . The sink is not centered and the top cabinets are five inches shorter than the base leaving a raw unfinished wall because the original were the same as the base. I would not accept that . He refused to order new cabinets because he â wasnâ t eating two cabinetsâ ! He measured twice. These were not custom. They were stock trimmed down to almost fit. Two of the drawers donâ t work because he had to change the sides because he failed to notice a drawer unit couldnâ t go where I wanted it because of pipes. He would have fixed it for $1000! We had to finish the install ourselves with help from friends because I was having a bridal shower at my house. He knew that and I think he thought I was just going to let him put shelves there. When we put the doors and drawer fronts on we saw that they were different shades! Not even all the same shade. I paid him in full. I made changes to get the cost down but didnâ t get a refund. He walked out and said â sue meâ . We did but he counter sued with BS. He lied about being a fireman and being in business with someone . Like others have said , he said I threatened him! The guy is about 6â 3â 230 pounds and about 35 years old! Iâ m 140 pound 65 year old woman! He is a pathological liar. He also told me he had a relationship with the countertop company. They never heard of him. I could go on and on! He will write a lot of lies about me and the job , but trust me and the other bad reviews .

After Zack completed the job and was fully paid he asked me to write him a review which I did and gave him a good review. Several months later I noticed some chipping/peeling in an area and the dark cherry wood was showing through. I was afraid it would get worse and called him in February about what to do. He explained it was from expansion and contraction but he would fix it and asked me to text a picture which I did immediately. He didn't respond so I texted again after another week but still no response. I texted a third time and asked him if he could at least tell me how to prepare the area so I could fix it myself, but again no response. I'm disappointed that he turned out not to be as conscientiousness as I had thought and once he's done and paid apparently has no interest in even responding to a concern. For that reason I will not recommend him.

Zack is responsive, friendly and prompt. He uses a product that he catalyzes and leaves a hard durable finish. I had gotten other estimates and they all use different products which makes it hard to compare. On doing my own research, the product Zack uses is highly recommended by cabinetry professionals as being highly durable and washable. Durability is of high importance to me and my refinished cabinets have given my kitchen a nice fresh look.

Zack was one of the most professional, high-integrity individuals that we have had in our home. His knowledge far surpassed that of a cabinet maker and installer; he knew overall construction and was able to counsel us on various aspects of the work we wanted to pursue in the renovation of our kitchen. We could not say enough about the quality and honesty in Zack's work. We ended up hiring his dad, Bruce to do an incredible job in restoring our high-end garage doors. He also painted over our brick in the kitchen grotto and surrounding walls to match the refaced cupboards. This group is super-resourceful and possesses a command of general construction and renovation matters.

Last summer after purchasing our home we knew we wanted our kitchen to get a makeover. We talked to several local contractors and no one seemed to be able to suite our needs. Zack did an estimate for us and we immediately felt he was the one to bring our project to life. We knew we had some major problem areas and he reassured us they wouldnâ t be a problem. When it came time for our job it seemed quick and effortless for him to complete once we got past back order issues for the hardware we needed to convert our cabinets to a soft closing door. Our dog and toddler have successfully shown us the durability of Zackâ s work and the product he uses. We have family that are already on his schedule for their kitchen to be done and they are excited to have a beautiful updated kitchen without the hassle of a total renovation.

Zack helped me with laying out my cabinets, and listened to the complete custom features we wanted, and incorporated them into our plan. Great to work with, and offers suggestions that help out. Our cabinets are in, and look awesome! I will be calling him with future projects for sure!

This company is a scam, I hired him and his dad Bruce to do my kitchen cabinets back in march, it is September and I am still dealing with the aftermath of Zack's disaster. This whole project was a nightmare. he would not return my calls or answer my texts. Everything was left undone, he did not do the proper prep work to do the painting, so of course, it was bubbling and peeling and he told me that was normal. He also did not paint between the cabinets where the stove and fridge go and when I asked him about it he said he does not pull appliances out, I have pictures of the appliances pulled out with him in the picture! He eventually stopped answering my calls and my texts, I had to hire another company to pick up the pieces. They are willing to have anyone contact them to verify the cabinetry he ruined. My cabinets are solid maple and were only 12 yrs old, just tired of the cherry and wanted a fresh update. I had a corner cabinet with glass and he said why don't you take the glass out, I thought about it and said yes, I can use the extra space. He returned the door which was ruined and said he had to get someone to make a new door, I thought he was custom cabinetry. It was 5 months ago, and I have now hired the Amish to make a new door because Zack would not return my calls and when I said I paid him in full, he say "Yep". He knew he has me. since my review, I see he has posted that my husband threatened him harm and we had guns in the house. My husband is a decorated retired detective who is very ill as Zack knows, he can't walk alone and the only thing he said to Zack is he would hire a lawyer and Zack laughed in his face. He also said my son-in-law told him the kitchen was beautiful, yes, it was beautiful after he put thousands of more dollars into it after Zack ruined it. I had to prove everything I posted, Apparently, they did not ask Zack for proof as they told me they stopped asking after August. Still, my review is backed up by facts. Anyone can hire him, I can't tell anyone what to do, all I can say is beware and know what you are getting, and do not pay in full until the job is done.

Hired this company for kitchen cabinets 4 months ago, I gave him $500 deposit, he told me it would be 4-5 weeks out, and it has been 4 months. He only showed up once after 3 months to drop off samples and now he does not respond emails or texts. 4 months of waiting for a job is unacceptable!! Update: 08/16/2022 Update on My Review: Stay away from this contractor!!! 5 months after starting, nothing was done. He does not communicate with you. No responses! I have been working with him and was told I was getting a refund. So far, still nothing!!! The worst company I ever worked for should not be in business. He takes money and does not do the work I was willing to work with him to complete the job, and he did not follow through on anything. 

The best there is out there. He went above snd beyond what was expected. Don’t hire anybody else Zack is a true professional. Amazing transformation, well worth the investment. Thank you! 10 Stars!

Quick work, and excellent results! So minimally invasive and everything has a beautiful enamel finish and changed my kitchen completely!

Zack and Bruce created the perfect remodeled kitchen for us. Refaced cabinets,crown molding, and lots of paint all at a reasonable cost. Zack is a skilled craftsman who knows his trade. I am absolutely amazed and delighted with how my kitchen cabinets turned out. It looks like a totally new kitchen. Zack and Bruce did the work quickly and meticulously. What a transformation! My cabinets look awesome! I was worried about who to hire and so glad I choose Zack. His work was done in a timely manner, he was clean, and his work was meticulous. I had my cabinet doors resurfaced and painted and the end result was better than I could imagine. At completion he made sure we were happy with everything. I would most definitely recommend him. He made the process much easier than I anticipated.
