 + -1 moreThe original cost for the job was quoted at $895.00. It went well until the toilet was reinstalled and the plumber asked for additional money to fix the fill valve and flapper and stated that the warranty would not be honored if the additional work was not performed. The additional cost for that was quoted at $169.00 and was negotiated down to $130.00. Even at that price it was excessive for such a repair. There were no issues with the flapper or fill valve prior to the toilet being removed, therefore it is my opinion that the plumber should have included this repair as part of the entire job. So even though the work was completed to our satisfaction, the additional cost was unexpected and excessive to ensure a complete warranty, so if you are to utilize this plumber in the future, you may want to anticipate additional surprise costs.
