Did not replace all the old plywood. Nails were left behind on the job site.

Lowe's service was very good. They did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves and showed up in time. I would use them again.

It was a very frustrating experience and I would not advise any one to buy their kitchen cabinets from Lowes in Kingston for the following reasons: the delays due to the wrong cabinets having been delivered and misrepresentation of some of the cabinets that were ordered delayed the completion of the project making it necessary for my contractor to bill me for the extra time and work that was necessary for him to complete the project . 1) we ordered doors that were full over lay with no stile between the doors, however the sink cabinet did not have full over lay doors and had a stile between the doors, and due to the fact that the granite counter tops had been ordered and were ready to be installed., we had to keep the sink cabinet as there would have been too much of a delay to reorder it. Also we were told that the sink cabinet would have a drop down lid with a tray attached to it. Instead a kit was sent with the hardware and tray to be installed by us along with an extra charge of over $ 140.00. We returned the kit for credit and found a kit on line for 1/3 of the price. 2) there were 20 cabinets in my order and of these , 2 had to be exchanged, 1 wall cabinet because it did not have full over lay doors and 1 base cabinet because it was too small. We had to box these cabinets and return them to Lowes as they would not pick them up. In addition we had to pick up the replacements at Lowes or be charged a delivery fee for Lowes to deliver them to my home. 3) we had been told that we could have decorative panels put on the sides of cabinets which were exposed expecting tthat this would be done at the factory. Instead the panesl were delivered separately and they would have had to be attached to the cabinets by us. We returned those (5) and ordered skins (5) which if we had been given the correct information, about the furniture panels, we would have ordered instead and they would have been put on at the factory. Instead, my contractor had to glue them on, which entailed roughing up the surfaces, gluing then clamping the skins to the cabinets whiich were already in place, a time consuming and not an easy job. 3) we planned for a desk area and the space would allow us to have a cabinet on either side of the kneehole drawer , with a cabinet on the right side with 2 file drawers and one on the left side with a door and shelf. We were told that the only size the knee hole drawer came in was 27" which meant that the cabinet on the left could only be 12" . However when we opened the box found that the actual size of the knee hole drawer was 24" with an extension on both sides which could have been cut down so as to allow for a wider cabinet on the left side. Since the granite people were coming to install the counter tops, we left the desk area cabinets in place just so the granite top could be fitted to the space , then afterwards, we removed the granite top and packed up the small cabinet and took it back to Lowes and ordered a larger replacement. As for the file cabinet cabinet, we found that what we thought would be 2 file drawers were just 2 drawer faces to which was attached to each a metal frame for holding files. The drawers had no bottom or sides. We called Lowes, spoke to Joe, who said he would call the cabinet company. He then called me back and told me they would send me 2 drawer boxes if I didn't mind buying the file frame inserts which one can get at a place like staples and I agreed to do this. Unfortunately I found that the drawsers were not deep enough and so I could not have a regular file drawer. I called the cabinet company myself and was told that they do not make regular file drawers for even their office furniture. I was very disappointed that I was not going to have a desk with regular file drawers and Joe obviously does not know his product line very well, nor does Conrad for that matter. What is most aggravating is that every one was so "nice", replacements were made as well as they could have been at no extrra cost to me, however there was the delay in getting the kitchen done The extra time I and my contractor had to spend returning and picking up replacements, tracking down deliveries that did not arrive when I was told they would , only to find that they had been lost in shipment etc, etc. . We started in June and due to the delays, it was not completed until mid September and I had to pay more for the extra work that was not anticipated in the estimate that my contractor gave me for his work. All I can say is that if I hadn't had the contractor that I had, this experience would have been more of a night mare as he was very helpful in returning and picking up cabinets so that I didn't have to pay extra to have them delivered to my house , putting on the skins which was very time consuming and being as accomodating as he could with the interference in his own schedule.
Description of Work: Kitchen cabinet order- Met with Joe several times, to go over kitchen design, chose cabinets, etc. My contractor was with me at least one of these visits, to discuss kitchen dimensions etc, etc. A tentative choice was made and then as Joe was going to be out on medical leave for several weeks, my file was given to Conrad so that we could make a final decisions and choices. My contractor was with me for this meeting also at which time the order was finalized and paid for.

I went to Lowe's and picked out the materials and scheduled the installation. On the appointed day, two installers came 2 hours early. I was not done removing furniture from the rooms. They weren't happy about it. As they were taking carpet out of their van, they questioned my choice of color, indicating that it wasn't practical and was not a good choice. I asked them if they would assist me in placing a rug under a bed downstairs after they finished and indicated I would pay them extra to do that; they agreed. During the day they complained several times that I had "so much stuff," which was stressing me. They also said they couldn't carpet the whole width of stairs as I requested (but could just do a runner up the middle) and then said they were just kidding when I got upset. Later they said they would give me time to move the furniture into another room and would be gone for 2 hours; they returned in 1. As they were putting their things into the van, one of them said several times that all that was needed was for me to pay the bill and give them each $75 in cash. They spent 10 minutes putting the rug under the bed for me. I paid the invoice and gave them each $20 extra. One installer thanked me but the other one took the $20 and shoved it back at me, saying "obviously you need this more than I do," and walked out the door. At this point I was in tears from the stress of the day and he walked back in without knocking, apologizing and asking me to give him a good report when Lowe's called. Frankly, I was scared of them because I was alone at home due to my husband traveling and didn't know what to do. I called the person who managed them and told him what happened. His response was to tell me that the one installer who had given me such a hard time all day was withdrawing from medication for Bell's Palsy, that they routinely move furniture for people, and that tipping was certainly optional. Lowe's called and I also told them what had happened. They thanked me, but I got no indication that these installers would not remain employed by Lowe's.
Description of Work: We needed carpeting and padding installed on our stairs and two upstairs rooms.
