For over 20 years Jeff Lowe Plumbing and Heating serviced our furnace, primarily because they were the only company in town that serviced mobile home furnaces....or so we thought. The administrative staff was pleasant and responsive in terms of scheduling appointment for our needs. The service techs were professional in demeanor for the most part. Jeff Lowe's pricing in incredibly high plus many times it happened that not long after they serviced our furnace, something else would go wrong. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I think not. There were instances after they serviced out furnace that we had to call them back to fix the same issue again very shortly after they left. Several times when our furnace needed parts, the service techs would take parts from our furnace with them, forget they did so we had to remind them to bring our parts back. When it was time to replace our furnace we used the Yellow Pages and called over a dozen local plumbing and heating companies, including Lowe's, for estimates. Fortunately during this process we did finally find another reputable company that serviced mobile homes. Their estimate was $5000 lower than Lowe's for a better unit, a high efficiency model AND nothing goes wrong a week or so after they've serviced our furnace. If you don't mind shelling out your hard earned money and paying for potentially unwarranted service, then Jeff Lowe Plumbing and Heating may be okay for you. Jeff Lowe Plumbing and Heating is definitely NOT a recommendation from our point of view.

Eek METHINKS NOT!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR SERVICE. *Jeff Lowe plumbing came to my house to replace a part (that I indicated to the repairman) on my heating system. *The plumber invoiced me for a $98.00 diagnostic charge for actually checking the part I asked him to check for 5-10 seconds by listening to it via his screwdriver and confirming the part was bad. t* Then, he quoted a price of $799.00 to replace this pump which online I found to cost a little more than $200.00. To replace it, one needs to just use the water cut off above and below the unit. Next, remove the 4 bolts and reconnect the power line. This will take around 30 minutes. I think i will do the work myself! *OVERPRICED AND UNSCRUPULOUS----BEWARE!!!

Please see box above. I called a local plumber and had the part replaced for under $50.00.
Description of Work: I called to have a broken diverter spout replaced in my bathtub. Two men came. They were respectful and polite. One gave me a written estimate of $261.00. I said that couldn't be correct. He said it was, according to his book. I was charged $58.27 for the service call and they left.

air condition is working for the summer of 2012. We'll see how things work out for 2013. It's the summer of 2013 and the A/C is working fine... they came out and did a cleaning and maintenance which was done very well. I changed my ratings rating from good to excellent on most categories, a D to a C on pricing. I know you get what you pay for... but it's still expensive
Description of Work: Central Air Condition not cooling, coolant was low. Very expensive options were presented as solutions and I chose the cheapest one. Coolant was added, and it worked for this season. It was a gamble since it would cost too much to discover why the coolant was leaking. I also inquired about installing anti-freeze in the heating system, but they were way to high in price

I have a contract with the company for caring for my heating and ain't conditioning units yearly. They call to arrange a convenient appointment, arrive in a timely fashion, and do the job efficiently. Although they seem a bit pricey, the service fee is in line with other similar companies. I recently bought new hvac and water heater from them, and am quite pleased with all items.

It went very well, I showed Joe all the projects first, then he called the shop for the parts while he got started. He gave me prices and information before starting the work, and did everything quickly and professionally. The next day when something not worked on started to leak, I called the office and they sent Matt over right away. He also was quick and professional. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Rebuilt kitchen faucets, installed new shut off valves for kitchen sink, repaired leaky tub faucet, repaired other bathroom fixtures that were loose, installed cut in to wastewater pipe in basement for dehumidifier.

I started working with them when I bought the house and they've had to fix a lot of the original contractor's work. They've also had to get to the house 24 hours a day in pretty bad weather and they've done it. Over 12 years, I haven't had any problems with anything they've replaced and they've told me when they thought something should be fixed or replaced. They also alert you if the fix is simple or complex and they didn't charge when they thought it was just the batteries in the remote that were the issue. When it came to installing the Nest thermostat, they weren't as cheap as having the manufacturer install it and they would have preferred installing a unit they work with more, but they also checked and confirmed that they trusted the quality of the unit and reviewed my system wiring in advance to alert me what wiring changes were needed for the model I wanted to work. Knowing that everything works correctly after they work on it has always made them worth the price to me.
Description of Work: Prep for Nest thermostat installation. Assessed condition of A/C condenser. Service on Mini-Ductless units. Have previously replaced Furnace, installed Mini-Ductless, maintained and serviced Air-Handlers and handled service contracts.

I called the office at 6:15 pm to see if I had missed a call saying when they were coming and the emergency staff person on call called my serviceman to see when he would get to my house. John called me about 5 minutes later to say he was just finishing up in Germantown and would be on his way to my house next. John was at my house soon after. John was very courteous and before coming in the house put on those little fabric booties so as not to dirty my house from the previous job. He checked the furnace and then we went outside to the compressor unit and he opened it up and took out some parts and informed me there was no power to the unit. I went in and flipped the circuit breaker and still nothing. Hmmm. We both went to the circuit panel where he discovered and pointed out to me that what I thought was the AC circuit breaker (because it was well marked as such) was in fact a spare breaker. I have 2 panel boxes and John found the actual AC breaker which had been tripped into a neutral position. So once that was figured out, John went to work trying to figure out what might have tripped the system. He couldn't, but it really didn't matter to me- the AC was back on and the system is apparently in good shape for its age, possibly because I don't run it constantly. We talked briefly about new systems and then he told me that I could arrange for a free estimate should I be so inclined in the future. He left me with a bag of parting "gifts" and such a good feeling of security in knowing that my AC system is perfectly fine. John could have made up any number of scenarios to convince me I needed a new system and I found him to be so honest and reassuring.
Description of Work: Diagnostics on a central air conditioning unit that wasn't cooling. No repairs were needed, but John explained and showed me some things about my older system once the circuit breaker was turned back on. They were able to fit me in at the end of the day rather than have me wait. John even applied their coupon (couldn't use Angie's coupon since no repairs were needed so he couldn't remove the cost of the service call) that took off $25 if repairs were done even though repairs weren't needed. I put a NA for punctuality above because I was only told that once the last job was done I would be the next call so it all depended on how long John was at other calls.

The tech seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately the furnace would not make the noise when he was there. He corrected a number of valves etc.,made some replacements which would help the furnace function better. The furnace is 60 yrs old.The noise did stop, but has come back after about a month. They did seem very good .I haven't called them back to fix it again because I can't afford another $600 bill right now.

As far as plumbing is concerned, Lowe Plumbing, Heating and AC Company to me is the best. They did a fabulous job in installing the gas fire place. I chose them because, first of all, they are punctual. They are neat. I trust them to walk into my house and take care of a problem. I had them install my heater, five years ago. I have them out to check on my air-conditioning unit every year. They also check my heater every year. They have also put in toilets for me. They are a little on the pricey side but their work is always good and I can trust them. If I call them now with a problem, they would be here today, if it was something I needed done today. One doesn't find that kind of service anymore. Well, they are not cheap. One has to pay for their labor; it's not over expensive either. I had gone to several others and they couldn't't even quote me the price on the installation job for the gas fire place because it was a very difficult thing to put in. I live in a town house and the lines of the gas goes up through my attic, then outside and then down to my fire place. So it was not an easy job. It was an all day job. The people from Lowe Plumbing, Heating and AC Company are fabulous. I always have used them in the past and I will keep using them for any job related to plumbing or heating.
