It went very well, if there was a problem they came right out and took care of the problem

Their prices were the lowest by far. The salesman was knowledgeable and pretty responsible. His name is Joe. The owner who I spoke to was quite difficult and belligerent, but Joe is really good. The job seemed to have been well done, but there was a leak around my skylights and they came and fixed it as soon as I pointed it out. I am so far happy. I picked them because their roof prices were like less than half of some of the other people for the same material and same warranty.

They came out promptly , inspected the roof with me, and we could find no defects. He suggested it was not the roof but the masonry chimney was absorbing water and then leaked into the house. After he left, I had the chimney waterproofed and the leak was fixed. I was thoroughly impressed with how honorable they were under the circumstances, and at the accuracy of their diagnosis .

Called three roofing firms from Angie's List. Selected Five Star as they were low price, had a one time transfer of warranty for workmanship and Joe Sauer was most professional of the estimators/project managers. Without questioning, Joe revised the description of the scope of work to include all the items that I wanted in based on different or fuller descriptions from other estimates. There no additional increase in cost. The work was started when I wanted. Five Star crew was fabulous, quiet for the type of work there were doing. I have been around many construction sites for business purposes. The crew answered all my questions without making me feel like it was a disruption of their work or it was a "dumb question". I was pleased that they never criticized negatively the old roof as my sisters and I put the original tarpaper and shingles on in 1964 (we were my father's workforce). The work took 2 days longer than originally estimated 1 plus a morning. Joe told me it was because "whoever put the original shingles on really hammered in" and at least on one day they had to complete another project. When Joe and I did the walk through he said that they did replace one plywood square due to rot but did not charge extra. Clean up went well. The crew placed tarp on the ground around the house then shovels the old shingles on there. One of the days was fairly windy. I've only seen bits of shingles but no nails. After heavy rain, I noticed more small pieces of shingle on my gutter shield. At walk thru, I recommended that the crew remind/tell of their need to use house's electricity. I don't remember being told this. Again, the crew was great!

Five Star came when they said they would, provided a reasonable estimate, did the work on time and within the budget. How refreshing! I will use them again. They were also neat and tidy. Stars are well deserved.

I would highly recommend them. I was totally satisfied with everything, 100%. They were courteous, professional and had knowledgeable service. They did what they said they were going to do. It was excellent service and an excellent crew. The price was competitive. The everyday guys that came to do the work were very professional and did excellent work.

A nice company to work with & they completed the job well and also followed up on painting the rpaired gutters in the warmer weather. I would recommend this company.

Arrived promptly for emergency repair, estimate and removal and replacement of shingles. All workers were polite and professional.

Everything went great. They did everything they said they would do and more. Dawn, Joe and Scott where fantastic. They showed they cared about the job that was being done on the house. Joe was out just about every day to make sure things were being done right by the help and took corrective action if he saw something was wrong. Dawn called to make sure things were going right and Scott added projects to the work without question. I plan on hiring them again next year for additional work inside my house

Excellent. I explained the problem over the phone, received an estimate on the time (about an hour) and cost ($130/hour), and setup an appointment. Two men arrived on time, examined the chimney both inside and outside, performed the repair, and completed the repair action within the estimated hour and for the estimated cost. The chimney has since weathered just fine.

I have been very pleased with their work so far. They are still out today working on the window installation. The men have worked efficiently and hard. The weather has been a factor but they do a good job. I like the fact that they listen to me and when we did have one small problem with the contract they listened to me effectively and efficiently. We got it resolved.

Everything was very well done; Joe, the salesman and project manager was prompt , willing to work with us on just what we wanted done, very honest about what part of the roof had to be replaced now and what could wait a bit so that we could make an informed decision. The workers were very professional and did a great job, also cleaned up after themselves and actually finished earlier than they expected. We couldn't be happier and will use them again .

They did a good job. They were professional in the way they interacted and treated us. We are happy with their work. We would probably use them again if we need.

He did an amazing job. He gave me a price and a time line and stuck to it. They resided our home, put in new drains, repaired a front porch, made another porch into a closet, added a deck, and enclosed a sun room. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was very happy with them. I liked them so they are going to do more work for me. They showed up on time, they were very clean, and they finished the work in a timely fashion. They were very responsive and very quick. I would have liked them to be exactly on time instead of a little bit late. They were very professional.

The workmen that did the job were excellent. They showed up every day on time and they worked diligently. I was very pleased with them. They were no-nonsense. I was not pleased with Joe Sour, the project manager. He showed up on Sunday afternoon to collect the bill while I was making dinner. I had also asked him to put in a diverter on the roof to get the rain coming down away from the gutters. He said that wouldn't be a problem. We called two weeks later because we hadn't heard from him and there was no answer. We called again. Finally we get him on his cell phone and he hung up on me. The guys that did the work were excellent but he was an idiot.

Same as above. Contracted for roof replacement and waited 3 months for them to begin work. Could not even get them to return phone calls and had a nasty back and forth with the owner, Scott, after which the contract was canceled. The 1/3 rd deposit was never returned. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. Get a reliable company instead before you loose money to Five Star.

Five star Exteriors rep was responsive and thorough giving me bids on several options I inquired about. Weather in the Catskills is always an issue and the job took quite a while to complete but the workmen were professional, neat and caring. Of course, our new roof was almost immediately covered with snow but I believe the work was very well done and I plan to use Five Star for future projects.

Five-star exteriors came to my rescue in the aftermath of hurricane Irene. My ceilingswere collapsing from a leak through my roof and attic - I had an emergency but everyone I called gave me a 5-6 week waiting period. I never had workd with 5-star before but seeing my distress they made my work their priority. High marks for great work and fantastic customer relations I highly recommend working with Scott. I will definitely use them again!

Their price was reasonable. It was fine. They were on time and professional. They did the job very well.

Overall the entire process went smoothly. Joe Sauers came to give an estimate and as we tweaked what we wanted done, he readily responded to each change made. He spoke with us at length and explained all the options available to us. We received many revised estimates due to our additional work requests. A down payment was required. A date was picked to begin work. It needed to be changed due to weather but finally we were all set. A dumpster arrived in early a.m., the workers arrived (see above for work done), they worked, they cleaned up and they arrived the next morning. This went on each and everyday until the job was complete. They had a plan to deal with inclement weather to protect our house. They worked smartly in how much they ripped off at one time to ensure no damage from rain. They waited out some passing rain storms and then continued working. Jason and Tom were the roofers and Dwayne was the gutter installer. They were hard working and committed to doing the best job possible. My husband and I appreciated their craftsmanship and friendly attitude. It was a pleasure to work with everyone from this company: Dawn on the phone, Joe the project manager and of course the workers, Tom, Jason and Dwayne. If it's possible to love a roof, we love our roof. :-) We look forward to working with them again.

Mr. Joe Sauers came over to provide an estimate; he was extremely professional and efficient. Since we had other estimates, we knew that Five Star was offering a fair price. The starting date was delayed due to continuous rain, but the day it stopped raining, the Five Star crew was on the job. It turned out that the repair was going to be more extensive than originally thought because there was inadequate framing under the old roof. Mr. Sauers helped us liaison with the insurance company, we got approval from the insurance company for the additional cost, and the job proceeded without delay and without a hitch. It was completed in a timely manner, 3 days, even though the extra work was required. All of the Five Star workers were excellent - they worked hard, no kidding around, and they were polite and considerate. Each day, they left the site in a neat condition, and at the end of the job all debris was cleaned up and removed. We couldn't have hoped for a better experience. We would highly recommend Five Star Exteriors.
