Carl Bell Plumbing & Heating

Do NOT use Carl Bell Plumbing and Heating. They utilize deceptive business practices and do NOT finish the job that they are paid for. We had Mr. Bell install a heat pump system to our new home. Not only did he not finish the job despite being paid tens of thousands of dollars, the work he did perform had to be ripped out to be corrected. We were also sold an incorrect heat pump unit that was not produced for the cold weather here in upstate New York but for North Carolina as Mr. Bell gleefully informed me. Despite promising to sell us the correct cold weather unit at cost, that has yet to materialize. After we hired another HVAC company to help us, we found out that despite paying Mr. Bell to install duct work to the second floor or our home, the heat/air was actually not hooked up and was diverted away to the first floor. Mr. Bell did not even install a working thermostat to our second floor, claiming we needed to buy from him a second heat pump unit for it to work. That was a lie. We had to completely redo the duct work as it was the wrong size and shape for the job, costing us over ten thousand dollars! Mr. Bell refuses to help us in anyway. He left us for a year both freezing and sweltering because he wanted us to spend more money for another unit that was not needed. Run do not walk away from Carl Bell Plumbing and Heating. You do not want to go through what we have had to endure. I would leave zero stars if that was an option.

Carl picked up the phone when I called and came over the next day to review the job and provide an estimate. I was impressed with his friendly manner, obvious knowledge, and the reasonable price. I hired him to follow through and, a week or so later, he came over and replaced a total of six valves, plus replaced the leaking pipe. I did have to call a couple of times to nail down the schedule, for which Carl apologized as he was handling a customer emergency. Overall, however, he did excellent work and was a pleasure to deal with.

Had to call Carl Bell for a heating/plumbing emergency -- a boiler and heating system that wouldn't hold any pressure (looked at twice by someone else to no avail). Carl came an hour or so after my call and was absolutely great! After taking the time to figure out my plumbing system and finding the broken, leaking pipe that no one else could find (and crawling under the house to do it!), Carl put a temporary fix in place, so that the boiler and hot water pipes would hold pressure. He sent his team out the next day to replace the pipe with a heavy duty pipe suitable for an unexposed crawl space and flush the system with antifreeze to prevent damage in the future. His team was as great as he was and fixed everything in a timely fashion. Carl and team were prompt, courteous, friendly and efficient! Would and have recommended Carl Bell highly!

I had this work done February 28 20015.They are terrible. they never came back to fill the hole they dug. I called and they never back. they also just threw the toilet into the yard. I called and again didn't return my call. the toilet is still in the yard.it seemed that the problem was fixed until two weeks ago when the toilet would not flush, it was clogged again.I managed to unclog it myself. the toilet water is again leaking into the basement, it smells horrible and the floor and wall saturated with it. I called Mr bell and was told that his phone is disconnected. I called angies list and was told their phone is also disconnected. Iwill be calling the BBB today is 8/13/2015 joan duffin

My repair was not an emergency, but I had trouble finding a plumber who was available this month! Not so with Carl Bell Plumbing. I called and within 2 hours two very courteous plumbers arrived and fixed everything in one hour. They did it fast and very well. Will use them again.

Things got off on the right foot when Carl sent his guys over to do an estimate for an oil to high-efficiency gas heating conversion the same day i called. They said he would call me in a few days with an estimate. Two weeks later after i hadn't heard anything, I called him. He said he had a few questions and would call me the next morning. No call. I had gotten several estimates, so, not being one to chase someone else down to give them my business, the job went to someone else.

The service provided to us was totally productive in meeting our needs and a most enjoyable occurence overall. The work involved the replacement of our main sewer line, the connection of all of the branches supplying the water closet, basin and bath tub, and the replacement of the water lines feeding these three fixtures. Carl was truly professional in every sense. His knowledge of plumbing and his high standards of workmanship were exemplary. In additin during his initial visit to see what the job entailed, he spent quality time answering each and every concern we had. Without any reservation we would give him an and quot;Aand quot; rating for the overall experience, his price, the quality of his work, his professional approach, responsiveness and punctuality. Carl Bell Plumbing is an outstanding firm and we would, without hesitation, recommend him to others.

Not only did he fix this but he also showed me how to properly maintain the system. Now that's unlike any previous company and will save me future dollars. Great job!!!

We've also had carl respond to a few plumbing, heating, or electrical emergencies, and he always comes quickly, no matter what time of the day or night.

Good attention to detail and neat work. They came at all hours to finish installing the new boiler when my old one was failing.
