Pre move staff seemed professional. At our home visit to get and estimate we were told that we would receive an "ESTIMATE" for the move. We told the estimator that there were some items that would not be going with us and we were still in the process of lightening the load. He said that the loaded truck would be weighed when loaded and a final bill determined by that weight. Were were also told that any boxes we did not use we would not pay for. In speaking with the office about insurance I also spoke about the weight of truck for final bill and was assured that would be done. On the day of moving, after loading everything, I asked the driver wherfe he was going to weight the truck and if my husband should accompany him. He said he had no dr==orders to weight the truck! After being on the phone to the office he said he would go to Kingston to weigh the truck. We left for Virginia a few hours latger. Truck delivery on Monday Morning and was presented a bill for the "ESTIMATED" costs plus insurance I said I did not want and also no unused box cost taken off. The truck was never weighed! The driver called the office and I spoke with the owner, Paul. He proceeded to tell me that the "ESTIMATE" stood as the bill and they never weighed trucks! When I asked why his staff told me such a thing, he told me to calm down or he wouldn't talk to me. I was calm but questioned his business practices which mad him mad. He chastised me as though I was a child and was sure that I was wrong and was trying to steal from him. I have never been so insulted by a business owner ever. One on his staff finally admitted that they said the final bill goes by actual weight but Paul never apologized for this discrepancy. He ended up taking an amount off the bill but I felt like I was lied to and cheated but according to Paul I was the problem. I do need to say that the moving staff were great, helpful and good to work with both in the packing of the truck and unloading. BEWARE of ESTIMATES that aren't estimates with this company.

The move was OK. Dealing with the company people after the fact was horrible.
Description of Work: My problem with this company began and ended with unfair charges generated by a poorly calculated quote for moving and storing household items. A quote for storage of $115 per month was in excess of $200 in reality. The packing of the items contributed to this. The insurance coverage they offer with the package nets you only 30 cents a pound in damage payment. The $200 repair to my leather recliner would have gotten me less than $30. The antique glass jam jar worth about $50 would have brought me about a $1.
