A&R Mechanical Contracting

Last week my 30 year old AC compressor unit decided it was tired of spinning the fan around and shot it into the wire cover. Fearing the worst I called Sarah at A&R mechanical. This is the height of AC season and she told me I couldn't expect to get a new unit before September but she would send someone by as soon as she could. Allan arrived the next day, assessed the damage and said he would see what he could do. I got a call from Sarah later that day letting me know she found parts in another state and would get them in a few days. The parts showed up this morning and Allan and Sean were here in an hour. I've used A&R before as have a few of my friends. They are trustworthy, fair and when the unit finally kicks I will have them replace it!

Maintenance and non-emergency works went well and I thought to establish long term relationship with the company. However, the company is just one person operation with a family member office support. As I discovered, their service isn't suitable for emergency needs as they don't take short notice appointments. I was advised to look for somebody else for immediate service.

Allen was extremely professional and helpful. His wife called to follow up a few days later to make sure we had everything we needed. I'll definitely call them again if we need other plumbing or heating help.

It was 4 AM, and our baseboards started making a strange hissing noise. When we went down to the basement, we found out that water was just pouring out of the furnace. Looked on Angie's List, and found a few 24 hr emergency services. I called a few, nobody got back to us, until I tried A&R Mechanical. Alan came right over to our house within the hour. He was very nice & knowledgeable, and was able to stop the leak. We knew our 30+ year old furnace was pretty much on its last leg, so my husband & I decided that it was as good a time as any to just bite the bullet, and have Alan install a new gas furnace. He & his assistant worked throughout the week (the last day, spending 14 hours at our house!) to install & completely clean up our basement. When he said that he tries to leave the basement better than he found it, he wasn't joking! Everything is working great, and I'm looking forward to more energy efficiency with this new unit!

Our furnace went out and our landlord was far away. It was amazing! Many plumbers didn't want to take payment directly from us, but they were willing and they made it easy for us. They called our landlord. They responded so promptly! Their communication was truly superb. We were without heat and the support staff was in constant communication with us. We were freezing so we really appreciated that! They made a bad situation better by handling it very professionally and with empathy. They were kind and their pricing was extremely competitive. I was so impressed with them. They are a stand out company!
