+ -1 moreIt took 2 weeks to schedule a pick up. But once I was on the calendar they were there on time and even called ahead. Their service was excellent and the snow thrower was ready for the March 14 storm.
Description of Work: Mu 2 stage snow thrower needed a tune up, replacement parts, and an oil change.

+ -1 moreBad. Mower Doctor made appointments on two occasions and did not bother to show up to pick up my mower. Didn't even bother calling to apologize or say they couldn't make it.
Description of Work: Called Mower Doctor on Thursday, June 23, 2016 and scheduled to have my lawnmower picked up and tuned up. I was told that someone would be by to pick up my lawnmower on Friday. I left my lawnmower behind my fence and instructed Mower Doctor as such. Friday came and went my lawnmower was never picked up. When I cane home from work my mower was still there. I called up and spoke to Mower Doctor on Saturday to inquire why my lawnmower wasn't picked up. I was given the excuse that the gentleman's sister makes all the appointments and that I must have spoken to her. I corrected the person because I remembered his voice and informed him that I did indeed speak to him and not his sister. I was then informed they would have someone drive to my house today (Saturday) by 3pm to pick up my lawnmower. Just like on Friday, nobody bothered to show up. Clearly Mower Doctor doesn't need my business since I keep getting the run around. I called back tonight and told them to cancel my order. I will be going elsewhere and not using them again.

Description of Work: I needed my snowblower serviced, it was completely dead. They were closed the week I called, so I left a message. Someone called me during their vacation time to schedule an appointment. They fixed my snowblower in less than a week and showed me how to take care of it so it will continue running with no problems. It was truly a refreshing experience and I was very impressed by how professional they all were and the fact they wanted me to be happy with their work that day and in the future.

Called mower dr back, they sent out the mechanic to take a look, he could not locate the leak, took the snow blower with him. Brought it back the next day after rebuilding the carburetor. No charge for the return service. Great service!! Thank you for the great follow up!!

+ -1 moreI called this morning (Tuesday) to inquire about having our riding mower repaired. The first thing the gentleman told me was that the cost to pick it up would be $81 and then they would take a look. I asked him how soon he could pick it up and he said he didn't know he doesn't do the schedule. He said it would probably be some time next week. He then said I need to call back on Thursday to speak with Karen who does the schedule and she would let me know. Kind of disappointing after the other reviews indicated the level of professionalism.

+ -1 moreHe had it fixed in about 5 days during his busiest of seasons. It worked perfectly. Seemed peppier than usual. I cant say enough about the courteous replies to my pesky phone calls trying to get the mower back sooner. My grass was out of control, but when I got the mower back it cut through that thick stuff better than it ever had. This is an honest and professional business that has experienced technical people in their employ. Their counter man (whose name I forgot) greets with a smile and helps in any way he can. I will bring all of my small equipment their from now on. P.S. They also sell equipment at reasonable prices.
Description of Work: After a failed service attempt by a repairer in East Northport on my Honda mower for surging and a rear wheel that wasn't turning, I took the mower to Chris at The Mower Dr. in Kings Park. He changed the needle valve and seat in the carburator and re-seated a bearing which had come off in the rear wheel. He also went over the engine and found other stuff that the previous repairer did wrong or failed to do.

Performed service within the estimated budget that was agreed. They even rushed it back to me ahead of the snow that never came last Tuesday. I have not started the machine since it was returned as they prepped it for the summer. I will provide an update if I have any issues starting the machine. |

+ -1 moreBad, wanted to charge, said I did not use 2 stroke oil and I caused the failure. Since I've used 2 stroke motors for 20 years, no way. Company refunded my money after complaining. I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THEM.

+ -1 moreLawn Tractor runs great!!! Although it was his busy time and i had to wait a couple of weeks, I now know to try and schedule maintenance earlier in the season if possible. They were very nice and will definitely use him them again!!! I did have to pay a little bit more for the pick up/delivery since i live a bit further out in HUntington but is understandable.
Description of Work: He came and picked up my lawn tractor from my house for carborature problems. He repaired the carburator, fuel line and fuel filter.

+ -1 moreWe had accidentally put gas in the oil tank of our push lawn mower. I got an estimate for a repair at another place and they said it would take at least 2 weeks to fix because it's their busy season. So I called Dr. Mower and he said that he would do the best he could to get it back within a week. So I dropped it off, he looked it over and said he would try to have it back in 4 days. Four days later, I was picking the mower up and it has been running well since.
Description of Work: Cleaned the oil tank, replaced the air filter and sharpened the blade.

+ -1 moreThey were accurate. They were slammed after the hurricane and they acknowledged that in the beginning and they were very forthcoming with the disclosure. They hit their target on when they said it would be ready. It wasn't quick but I wasn't first in line. They set expectations properly which was very refreshing.

+ -1 moreMy lawnmower stopped completely. I read the manual and realized that I had never maintained the machine properly. I brought the mower to the shop for a possible repair job, without holding out much hope. The shop charges $20.00 to examine the mower and the fee was applied to the repair. If the machine was not repairable, or if I thought the repair bill was too high, the fee would have been non-refundable. I explained to the man at the counter (I am sorry that I don't have his name) that I did not know much about mowers, and he offered to explain mowers to me. He was extremely patient with all of my questions. The mower was able to be fixed. I received the mower back, and it works as good as new. The same man listed above made sure that I understood how to take care of the machine, and made sure that I could start the machine by myself.

+ 0 moreThe work was done quickly and the mower worked perfectly afterwards. Also, the automatic drive on the mower did work but was not working correctly. I asked them to look at it. Their reply was that it did work and it could be left alone. They also offered to fix it at a very reasonable price. I chose to have the work done since the price was reasonable (included in the overall cost above). Since it would take time to get the part needed, they offered to let me take the mower home and bring it back when the part arrived. I appreciated that they did this since my other mower was not that working well. I have used another mower repair shops closer to my home (one town over) but I found that their repairs did not last. Here one year later the mower continues to work perfectly. I expect it will last much longer. I am now taking my other mulching mower and my trimmer, both were tuned up by a closer which did not lat a year, to this shop.
Description of Work: My older Honda mower stopped working. It just would not start so I took it in to see if it was worth fixing. It ended up that I only needed a tune up. I also asked them to look the automatic drive which was also evaluated and was fixed only after I was presented some options.
