It went extremely well. He was very professional and seems to have done a great job.

Very Disappointed! I contacted Steve 6 months ago for a leaking bathtub based on the excellent reviews (and now a gold star winner) shown on Angie's List. While he was very earnest and responsive by phone, he never came to provide service. I have contacted him at least 2 times since and he always promises to call back and doesn't. We stopped taking baths in the tub to avoid the leaking problem, but more recently a slow draining condition from the shower exists. I have given up on Steve - 3 strikes - and have called another plumber.

Called Steve on a Monday morning about a sluggishly draining toilet. He fit me into what was a busy schedule for him on the same day as my call. He called when he said he would, and came when he said he would. He works alone so you know he will be the one to come to make the service call. Steve charged me $125 for the service call - including up to one hour of repair time, and additional $10 for a wax seal he used to re-seat the toilet. All in all a very acceptable experience with a tradesman I had no previous experience with. I would use him again.

Off and on for about a week we had a clog somewhere in our plumbing system which caused water to flow out of the bottom of the downstairs toilet whenever water was used elsewhere in the house. Our cesspool company determined there was a piece of metal in the main line. It was recommended we call a plumber to cut the pipe and remove the piece of metal. I called Steve Lauchus Plumbing and Heating that day requesting he do the work. (I chose his company after reading the reviews on Angie's List.) Steve and I discussed the problem on the phone. Then he discussed it further with the cesspool company. Steve rearranged his schedule for the rest of the day and came over that afternoon to do the repair work. After using his color camera he discovered we had a piece of lead in the main line which was due to faulty workmanship in plumbing construction when the house was built about 40 years ago. Steve worked nonstop for several hours digging out the house trap pit, snaking lines to the cesspool and house, cutting the trap vent, melting the lead in the main line, installing plugs and clamps. All this was done on a Friday afternoon and Steve remained pleasant and professional the entire time.

We had a kitchen sink faucet that was failing and needed replacement. We called Steve one evening and left a message, assuming he'd call back the next day since it wasn't an emergency. Instead he called back within 15 minutes, and asked us about the problem. He asked if I could take a picture of the faucet and e-mail it to him and when I did, he recognized it and offered a choice of several replacement models at various prices. We picked one and he arrived with it the next afternoon, after coordinating with our work schedules. He replaced the faucet in about an hour and left everything neat and clean behind him. Through all of this, Steve was friendly, helpful and completely professional. I won't hesitate to call him again the next time I have a plumbing problem.

We called and he promptly returned our call. He came over the next day to see what the job entailed. He removed the part and realized that a replacement was necessary. Obtaining the part turned into a bit of an ordeal. However, he stuck with it and eventually got the correct part. He then repaired the shower. He was prompt, very professional and courteous. We give him a lot of credit for his effort in getting the part. It was truly a pleasure to meet him and have the work done by him.I would not hesitate to reccomend him. We will certainly use him in the future.

Excellent Plumber ! Steve promptly returned my call and scheduled a visit. Upon arrival he was very friendly and courteous. I described the water leak and initially led Steve to a very tight crawl space where we believed the leak could be isolated. Although the space was very crampt and uninviting; Steve immediately crawled inside in an effort to locate the leak. This proved unsuccessful but led Steve to conclude that the leak was actually inside the wall of my home. As I had visions of walls being ripped out; Steve reassured me that he could quickly and easlily fix the leak by cutting a small hole in my closet wall. As promised, Steve cut a hole, fixed the pipe, and installed a shut-off valve for future use. He then covered the hole with a piece of plywood. I plan to hire Steve for my next project or repair and would highly recommend him to anyone.

He was rude and never got back to me and I found him to be hurtful.

I was very pleased with the work he did and Steve's work ethic. Before Steve even brought his tools in the house he put drop clothes covering all carpeting, up to the kitchen so he did not track dirt onto the house. When he removed the drop clothes he wrapped them up and shook them out, outside, before he folded them up. He looked for alternate ways to located the leak before he found he had to cut out part of the kitchen ceiling. He showed us where the leak came from (a joint breaking loose) and what he was doing to correct the situation. He was very neat and left the house the way it was before he arrived. After ordering a toilet and shower faucet, he came back several weeks later and installed those items. Because he had to cut out some of the tiles for the faucet, he recommended someone to replace with new tiles (a very small area). He made arrangements with the tile guy, who came in 2 days later. Because the tile guy made the hole for the faucet too large, Steve had him come back to correct it; at no extra charge. I was very impressed by Steve's work.

I received a return call the same evening of the day I made contact. Steve arrived promptly for his appointment, assessed the problem and told me the probable cost, including the worst case, if the pump was not repairable. I felt his estimate was reasonable, and had him start the job right then and there. He had a replacement faucet on his truck, and promptly replaced it. In the basement, he disassembled the pump housing, and spent some time trying to clean out the pump to try to make it work(it had become clogged with vermiculite, which my wife uses as a soil additive for her plants). The pump was beyond repair, and he happened to have a replacement on the truck, as I had the same model pump as is used in his church, which he recently had repaired. His work is professional, and clean-up was up to our standards. I would definitely Hire Steve for any additional work I require.

The house is built on a slab and the leak was in one of the pipes that ran through the slab. Steve, the plumber had to figure out where within the concrete the pipe was leaking. He did this professionally and efficiently. He knows his way's around the 30 year old slab ranches. All in all it took around 4 hours to get the job done and I was really pleased with his work. He is neat in cleaning up after his work. Should I need a plumber I would definitely use him again, and strongly recommend him to others.

I called about 8 AM and left a message with his wife. He called back in about 15 minutes and said he would arrive between 9:30 and 10 AM. He arrived on time and estimated it would cost about $250 to replace the section of pipe. I agreed. He had all his material in his truck. After he started, I asked him to replace a valve that no longer worked. The valve was supposed to shut of the the cold water going into the furnace and, had it worked, it would have shut off the water to the section of pipe that was leaking. It took him about 90 minutes to complete the work. His bill came to $265, including the valve, which wasn't part of the original estimate. I felt his price was very reasonable, his work very professional, and his attitude very decent. Should the need arise I would absolutely use him again, and I highly recommend him to all others.

He did an excellent job, he knows what he is doing. I trust him and will use him in the future.

Overall, we had a great experience with this company. They were efficient, neat and prompt. We didn't have to wait on them at all. The quality of their work is excellent and we felt their price was very fair.

WHEN THE HOUSE WAS BUILT THE PIPES WERE INSTALLED OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE. THE PLUMBER STAYED FOR FIVE HOURS UNTHAWING THE PIPES IN A BLIZZARD. HE CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY TO DRAIN THE WATER, POUR ANTIFREEZE IN THE PIPES AND TEST THE WATER.
