aka Continental Masonry. Looked fine until a year later when mortar starting falling out. Mason took money and was unresponsive and unprofessional. I would not recommend. Does not take responsibility for bad work done.

Good work. Very nice people, but one down side. I will start with the good. Their brick-work and pointing is excellent. They also did a good job replacing brick in the garage, and the workers were always polite. The downside: They did little to protect the house interior or garden from dust damage. We had to replace our air conditioner because it was full of gunk and mortar. even though they washed down the exterior. Our front yard has large brown spots where they put their tools. This could've been avoided by putting down plastic sheeting first. To summarize. I definitely recommend Amoroso. But protect your home by taping down plastic over the exterior windows, and tape plastic over the air conditioners. Protect your yard as much as possible.

The story starts in summer 2010, when my next door neighbor and I each got a letter from the City ordering us to repair the bluestone sidewalk in front of our houses. I hired another contractor, who repaired the sidewalk in September... but cracks were showing within a week of the repair, and when the City came back to inspect the work, it said the job wasn't up to spec, and furthermore that we needed to repair the back sidewalk too. Meanwhile, my next door neighbors had hired Mario Amoroso's Continental Masonry to do their front sidewalk; his work passed City inspection (and did NOT show cracks, as he had laid the bluestone dry, as seems to be standard practice, rather than using mortar as the other contractor had done). Anyway, once winter was over and some other major expenses were out of the way, we hired Mario to do our sidewalks. We discussed several options at different price points, agreed on the job (which included persuading the Parks Department to remove a diseased tree, and hiring a subcontractor to remove the stump) and the price. The initial estimate turned out to be based on a misunderstanding regarding how much of the sidewalk was ours, so the price went up a bit when we straightened that out. Other than that, no problems: the workers showed up on time, did the job promptly, cleaned up after themselves, and a few weeks later the front and back sidewalks both passed City inspection.
Description of Work: Removed broken bluestone sidewalk & replaced with concrete; used best stones to repair another bluestone sidewalk. Had subcontractor remove tree stump to enable the above.
