It is sad when a reputable business grows old and has new management who do not have the same service standards as the old hands. This is the case with Shaul's in Johnson City, NY. I have been a customer more than 30 years and I am disappointed with the service on a 10 week old electric stove I just bought from them when I called the store for help. Part of the stove door cracked and when I tried to explain the problem the manager cut me off and said to me “You broke it.” But he has not even seen the broken stove. Then he went on to explain that the manufacturer, Whirlpool, would not cover the repair under warranty. But I didn't break it. It really is a manufacturing defect or a design defect in my opinion as a retired professional engineer who has evaluated many electrical equipment problems. The manager offered to send his service man at my cost, but I found out that they are not a certified service shop for Whirlpool. I smelled rotten fish at this point and called for Whirlpool service, who were responsive. My experience and opinion is that this store wants to charge for their service when its free from the manufacturer and they do not help the customer with legitimate warranty service. Shaul's blames the customer without even looking at the problem. Not good at all.

Went very well, did a thorough job in checking over the washer and fixed the problem and stayed until a complete cycle ran through to make sure it was fixed. Took apart my dryer that I complained about once he was here and found what was making the noise and fixed it. There was a penny inside one of the baffles. I inquired about the belt and he didn't needlessly sell me a new one. Said the belt looked brand new. I will not be afraid of calling them again.
Description of Work: Fixed my washer and also took apart my dryer to see what was making the noise even though I asked when the repairman got to my house.

I have bought all my major appliances from Shauls for the past 15 years. Dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, stove and now replaced my 36 year old Maytag washer that has never needed a repair. I use Shauls because they are local, will deliver and install, take away old fall for no charge. I trust their recommendations and have never needed a repair on any of the appliances but know that they will service them. They arrive when scheduled come rain or snow. They have and quot;interestingand quot;personalities.

All installations went very smoothly. It took about one hour to remove old appliances and install the new. Then over to my daughter's house to install my old gas range in her house and to remove her stove. Also, a new hood was installed in my daughter's house. When we ordered the appliances, we asked them if they could install the old stove at my daughter's and they said that would be fine. We did pay a $75 delivery fee for that but it was worth it. My daughter has a much better looking stove and we have new appliances.
Description of Work: Installed new gas range and dishwasher in my home. Then they took my old gas range which is in good condition, and installed it in my daughter's house. They removed my old dishwasher and her old stove. Service was very good. They were very friendly. Only had to wait a week for the appliances to be delivered.

It still does not work even though he kept working on it and could not diagnose the problem. We went around and around and he kept putting in parts and could not make it work. It cost more than a new icemaker would and I will not use them again in the future. Their prices were expensive.
Description of Work: I used Shaul Appliance Service to replace the ice maker on my refrigerator.
