They did the French drain. They started leveling and Rick removal, the rock hounder broke. They needed me to remove my pool so I drained it and it took longer then expected. So the company moved in to the next job and said would come back. They never came back. So I called and the owner was full of excuses and super rude. A month later I called over and over and left messages at least 6 times with no response. Finally we decided to contact our credit card company to get money back since the job was not completed. I needed to go to the company to get a contract and I told the office ladies I'd like to speak to the owner and that he never returned my calls. He finally called me a few days later and said he was not coming back. Claimed that the last time we spoke I hung up on him. Which never happened. Why would I hang up on someone who is supposed to be doing work on my yard? Doesn't make sense. They were informed that I was having a deck built, they dug out a spot for my in ground trampoline where my deck was supposed to go. And the owner threatened to charge me more for their waisted time. Even though I informed them a deck would be put there. He was terrible to me. I hope others don't get treated the way I did. I asked if he would finish and he said no. He doesn't want me to treat his workers poorly so he wouldn't let them come back. But it wasn't the workers who were bad to me. Just the owner. I would not be rude to them for coming and finishing a job. My yard is now a mess. The grass I had is tore up and there are drains drug through the yard that aren't supposed to be there. We went all summer with no pool because they made us take it down. Such a terrible company 😠😠😠😠

Up until this year it has gone fine This year I have been calling for months to get them out to do Spring Clean up, but they now (June 29th) tell me it will be at least 6-8 weeks before they can get out. This puts us into the end of August to do Spring clean out of our beds, trimming of bushes, mulching, adding a new bed, replacing a dead rhododendron, turning lilac bushes that were damaged in the last snow storm. The summer will be nearly over before they can do Spring Clean up? This makes no sense & this company has left us no other choice but to go to a another landscaper. I do not recomment this company to anyone who is looking for landscape work because they are not dependable anymore.

Communication is a problem with this company. When they started the job they almost put down stones instead of the river rocks I ordered. They never had a work order that spelled out the work and materials for each part of the job. When they came back to re-do some of the sod they put it in the wrong section of the yard and the owner blamed me when I called about it. I didn't tell them where to put the sod; that should have been in writing and authorized by the owner. When they mowed the lawn they mowed the sod which had not put down roots yet and that chopped up the sod. They put down sod in the very back of the yard where there is no sun ever. It all died and had a very musty smell. I didn't know anything about sod (I do now) but it turns out that sod was not appropriate for that area. It took five months before they can and removed the sod and replaced it with mulch. There are so many things that were poorly done. But I have listed the main issues.

We found Great Choice randomly after calling a bunch of local places, and we are so glad we did. We had started a stone step and retaining wall project on our own, and after dozens of hours of work and digging we realized we were out of our league and needed professional help. We also needed it finished fast, as Halloween was only a week away and our property had become a downright dangerous place for trick or treaters to be! We called around, and since our project was already half done and mostly dug, it seemed that nobody else wanted to take over a half completed project, and the ones who were willing to couldn't do it for weeks or months down the road. Not only did Great Choice want to help, but they had guys out and working within days of calling them. The project was completed way faster than we thought it would be and for an amazingly fair price (HALF of even the cheapest quotes we got from other places.) Great Choice not only completed the project exactly how we wanted it to be, but they did it for much less than their competitors and got it done extremely quick. We recommend them to anyone looking to have rock or stone work done (or any landscaping projects). 5 stars!

For landscaping, I used A Great Choice Lawn Care. I am using them again this year. The cost was 60 dollars or something for the application of fertilizer. Everything was good.

This is the first complaint that I?ve ever written on Angie?s List. I?ve written positive reports for companies that were wonderful, but I just wanted to make sure that I passed along my complaint to Angie?s List users. My husband and I have spent approximately $4200 with Great Choice Lawn/Landscaping Service since we moved to the area in May. Their work was OK, not bad, not great. I did have some issues with the mowing that I passed along to the company that fell on deaf ears. I have big dogs that go in and out of my doggie door but like to stay outside in our fenced yard. I?ve asked the Great Choice lawn guys to call me prior to mowing so that I could get the dogs inside the house?.it was not perceived as an important request because even after asking them to do this minor task 3 times, I received only 1 heads-up notice from them in the 3 months that they did weekly mowing. My biggest disappointment with Great Choice is regarding our mulching bill. I sent a text message to the owner on July 29 asking a question about an invoice that I?d just received. I wanted him to clarify that a line item for $750 was accurate. He sent me a response saying that he?d look into it. I didn?t hear back from him. On August 5th, I sent another message asking him again to look into the invoice, but, again, received no response. On August 14th I sent the owner the same request regarding the same invoice, but again, no response. On August 18th I sent another message to the owner to look at the invoice to make sure that it was accurate and also told him that his services were no longer needed. I like to pay my bills in a very timely manner and really don?t feel comfortable doing or recommending a business that could ignore this important request. I received an instantaneous text back regarding this particular text from the owner saying that he?d already emailed me an explanation?I?ve never seen an email from him. He stated in his text that would call me the first thing in the morning. Well?it?s 18 days later, and not surprisingly I still have not heard from him. We received our final bill a few days and paid our balance. I?ve already moved on to a landscaping company that listens to me. If you like reasonable pricing and don?t care about good customer service, Great Choice is an OK company to use. There are better companies out there.

I could not get a hold of them, I had to leave voice message. I wanted to move from a weekly service to every other week service. So I left a massage telling them I don’t want them to come anymore and I will not pay anymore yard service. They kept coming for another month and they broke all my solar lights in the back yard. Then they called me and tell me that I owed for two months. I even had a letter that I wrote to them that they must not come on my property.

They have been mowing our yard for a few years and this year they dropped us with no explanation. They usually come every spring and mow through the summer. After calling numerous times this spring with no response, I finally got in touch with someone who told me they are not coming back this summer - this after speaking with one of the workers who said he's find and out call back Of course he never did. The person I spoke with would not give me a reason. When I asked when they planned to notify me, she said I'm notifying you now (when my grass is 8" tall no less). She finally admitted that our slope is too wet - aren't landscapers supposed to deal with this? I scrambled and found another mower who is doing a much better job. I don't have an issue with the workers, they did the job well and came like clockwork. About 2 years ago, the owner said he would come out and give us recommendations on new landscaping but he never showed. I didn't bother calling them with a major overhaul, a $15,000 job estimate - it's going to another company because I didn't want to bother with them.

They said that they would call me back later that afternoon. I had taken off the whole day. I had the whole day to be available for them. I told them that I have all the afternoon and they could come in the afternoon. They said that they'll check and call me back one way or the other. If they can come, it's great. If they can't, then they'll call me back to reschedule. She never did. I called her up a couple of weeks later to tell her that she didn't call me back.

Over the years I have had to contact them for billing issues which is why I keep good records. There was some damage that the mowers didn't tell me about but this was resolved once we contacted the owner.

It was excellent. What stood out to me about them is their timeliness, the professionalism of the staff and the quality of their work. My impressions of the people that came out to do the work are very good.

They were really good and they did a good job.

These guys do a good job and work quickly, which I like. What I don't like is that it's hard to get them on the phone, and unfortunately I've had to try to contact them a couple of times due to billing discrepancies.

It helps to keep accurate records. It also helps to protect small trees as some of my fruit trees were destroyed from trimming too close - I feel somewhat responsibe so I've never complained. Any issues have been resolved with the owner quickly and efficiently.

Well done. I have no complaints. Since it is a periodic service, as I utilized it, they were good about calling before coming and were good about responding to any phone calls with concerns inbetween days of service provision.

We had a problem with them. He and another business man came by and they looked around our yard while we told them what we wanted done and he said he would get an estimate to us. We never heard from them after that. I called them twice and I never got a call back.

I liked the quality of work and the workers. I didn't like the interaction with the owner. He called me regarding additional work, which I agreed to. He knows that I do not appreciate him too much. He called me with a plan and we went over it. That was three weeks ago and I still have not heard from him, which is typical for him. He says he will do something and if he follows up it will be on his time and not on the time he tells me he will. I don't have a problem with the lawn work or routine work. I have more interaction with the workers than I do with him. I am satisfied with the work, but not the owner.

They are very reliable. I have no problem with them. I really can’t say anything bad about them. I would use them in the future.

They are very good. They are very cost efficient. My husband takes care of the payment and so I don’t know anything about it. He told me that they are far more reasonable than anybody else in town. They do extremely good work too. They are very personable people. They work with your schedule. They always call and let me know two days or a week before they come out which I really appreciate. They are just good people and they do good work. It’s something you don’t see too often. I think that they were extremely reasonable on their price. I’m not unhappy at all. They are very good and they always let you know ahead of time when they are coming. If it is an inconvenience and if you have something going on where you don’t want them to come that week, they will reschedule according to when you want them to come. They are very good and very flexible. We really like them. We would use their services again in the future.

Four visits as agreed. Each time I was home, the applicator made it a point to describe what he was applying and why. I have been very pleased with the results. The price was about half of the "National Chain"
