Green City Movers

We had Earl, Jean, and Rodney as our movers and they were great. We ended up moving on 2/14. . that record breaking cold day! They had some trouble getting the truck going in the morning because it is diesel but they got it moving and were ready to go. They were very professional and didn't complain about the awful weather. And to make the cold day even worse, when we got to the house we found out the pipes all froze and the radiators cracked so it was even colder inside the house. The guys worked hard and got everything done in a timely manner. Would definitely use them again. Thanks guys for all of your hard work in the bitter cold!!

These guys were fantastic. They came on time, got things done within estimated time frame, and the crew was polite and professional the whole time. We've used other moving services in the past, but GCM is miles ahead of them and have reasonable prices as well.

Movers were punctual and professional. They were pretty fast. They successfully navigated a big truck up a narrow road.

Move went well, my furniture and boxes were all moved with no damages. Adjustments were made in the cost of travel time. I would use Green City Movers again if I move . This is an excellence moving company do not waste time looking for another company , Green City movers know what they are doing.

We had some issues with charges on our bill and a damaged piece of furniture. After contacting the owner (Norman Goodman) both issues were addressed.

I had recently moved with Green City in November, and found myself in the position of having to move again pretty quickly. Given my great experience with Norman & Green City last time, I chose them again and was just as happy. His guys made it look easy, and we moved an entire 1-bedroom apartment in under 4 hours. They handled and wrapped some really fragile, antique wood furniture with great care and, despite my nervousness, everything arrived safe & sound. I would recommend them again, and now having moved twice, I wouldn't call anyone else!

They did a good job twice that's why I went back with them a second time. It was good. They showed up, they did their job, and they left. It was great. My fiance moved in in October and that was the big move, and there was another one after that. The one before that had an additional cost because there was some mix up with the way it was supposed to be billed, and then after that it was just one straight up bill. The second one was for my ex-wife. She had some stuff in my apartment that I had to get out. They showed up, took the stuff, brought it to the truck and drove away. It was beautiful. I purchased it on a Wednesday and they were there by Saturday which was really good. They were on time and it was very well done. I am very happy with them. I always recommend them. I have a lot of valuable Caribbean artwork from the pre-Spanish era, and I'm very touchy about how it gets moved. They are Caribbean indigenous artwork and they did not damage it. That alone makes me happy.

It had been a very long time since we had moved from one home to another and I had forgotten how stressful it can be, however, Norman and his team made it a great experience for my family. He advised us on how big a crew we would need for this size job and it worked out great. They showed up on time, all of the guys were extremely professional and helpful with the entire process. They treated our furniture and other belongings with respect- everything made it safely from Point A to Point B. The crew's work ethic was tremendous, taking just a single 20 minute break for lunch during the course of a 15 hour day! I strongly recommend Green City Movers. -DR, Long Island.

The actual moving part went well, but they were about an hour late and I beat them by an hour to my new office They charged me for tolls although from what they told me the tolls were for another job in Westchester. They charged me $20.00 for 4 boxes which I thought was high.

Norman is a no-nonsense guy on the phone, and that initially put me off. But once he warmed up, I realized I was going to get a great deal and great service. The rate he quoted me was exceptionally fair, and was at least 50% lower than FlatRate. The team he sent was fast, efficient and careful. Nothing major got damaged, the truck was clean, and the guys were willing and able to do anything we needed on the day of. I would hire them again in a flash.

The move went very well-great! A+ The crew showed up on time and immediately started. There was a lot to move. An additional crewman was called in. The men were courteous and, from the beginning to end, worked hard. Some items needed to be protected, which they wrapped. On a footnote, they made a gallant effort to move an entertainment center up the stairs, but, the dimensions prevented it. They were kind enough to place it in protective wrap. The cost of service does not include the tips which the crew definitely deserved. I thanked the crew for all they did and am writing it here as well; thank you!! I would recommend this company!

It went smoothly, the guys came exactly on time, took care with my belongings, and completed the job in less time than the original estimate. I will be using them again!

A+ all around. The truck arrived early, and we weren't quite prepared for how quickly and efficiently it would all happen. This is first time we've hired professional movers, and we had our worries regarding the handling of more fragile items, of which we have many; musical instruments, mirrors/glassware, lcd screens/monitors, etc. The team worked swiftly and efficiently to not only "tetris" all the various boxes and belongings into the truck, but also helped us pack, wrap, pad, tape (the taping was amazing, such an ease to remove!) the rest of our things.

Norman was very responsive throughout the process and made my move as stress free as possible. I recommend Green Movers.

The workers were extremely professional and courteous. Arrived promptly. They didn't stop for any breaks. Just provided coffee which they appreciated. Moving furniture out from a second floor brownstone building was challenging but they handled it with ease. They set up my furniture for me in new apartment. Nothing was damaged. I did my own packing with the exception of tvs, computer system and furniture and a few odds and ends. They moved extremely quick and got the job done in the time we accounted for. When I move again I definitely want them for the job.

They were GREAT. They were flexible. We orignally hired them for a Saturday move and then at the last minute, needed to change it to Sunday, which they had no problem accomodating us. They wrapped all our furniture neatly, They moved quickly (which was one of our main concerns, we thought they would try and take their time in order to charge additional fees), but that was NOT THE CASE. We did pay for an additional half hour, but it was totally necessary. The guys were very pleasant to work with. They worked hard and fast. My co-worker had to move recently and was calling all over getting different prices, I overheard her talking and told her about Green City Movers, she ended up using them because they were MUCH cheaper then any other place she called (and she called quite a few). When I came back to work after her move and asked her how it went she said they were GREAT and thanked me for the reccommendation. Moving is the worst experience, no one likes to do it, but Green City Movers makes this daunting chore a little easier.

Green City Movers did an excellent job. They were punctual, cordial and worked efficiently. Nothing was damaged and they made sure everything was performed to satisfaction.

I was so pleased with their work. The move went so smoothly. The men were the nicest, and very professional. Such care was taken with all my belongings. Boxes were marked and placed in the rooms I requested. Nothing was broken or scratched. I offered them lunch but they declined. I am glad they did enjoy the coffee and cookies though. Norman and Cosby were so very helpful. I cannot say enough about Green City Movers. They alleviated a lot of the stress associated with the move. I would highly recommend them.

It went great. They were receptive to the changing situation and was able to reschedule multiple times within 2-3day notice. Very accommodating. I had to use them twice, since my situation changed. They arrived on time or early on both occasions, which is huge plus in my book. They also sent 1 extra guy for faster service on the first leg. They were quick and completely both job within the 4 hour minimum window. Under 150 mins each time. Nothing was damaged and they protected any fragile items very well. I wish their minimum job charge was 3hrs instead of 4hrs, which would of effected my pricing, but besides that, I highly recommend this provider and would reuse them again.

It went great. The movers were very nice and professional. They were quick and they didn't even take a lunch break. I was happy with how this service went and would recommend this company in the future.

It was a local move. I had most things in storage while the house was being renovated. They showed up on time (actually they were early) and they worked hard. They were all very nice, polite and respectful. They took good care of my stuff. Once back at the house, they took care not to do any scratching or damage as the house is recently renovated. I needed a heavy piece of furniture brought to the second floor and they accommodated without an issue. I had a piece of furniture broken by the previous movers and they even found a temporary fix for me! I've unpacked just about everything now and only one piece of furniture was damaged in the move and it's easily repaired. The price was a little high considering it was local and I had to pay for minimum time I didn't actually need/use and I had to pay for supplies etc. However, knowing the care they took with my belongings, the respect with which they treated me and my home, and the reliability....I'd pay it again if I ever needed to move.

The deal was $345 for 2 movers and a truck for 3 hours. The company showed up approximately 20 minutes late but still started the "clock" at the original starting time. They did provide a very large truck and 3 movers instead of 2. This was a small apartment and the majority of our clothing, kitchen stuff had already been packed up. It took almost 4 hours to load up the truck, part of this was the slow elevator in my building but they guys weren't moving that fast either. They also charged me for "wrapping" my furniture to protect it. Basically just wrapping the furniture in plastic wrap, it think it was around $75. It seemed like the movers had a minimum amount of time they needed to spend to make it worth it for them for the day. They unloaded the truck in about 30 minutes as compared to 4 hours to load it up. The final cost was a little under $600 (they charge $115/hr each additional hour). Compared to some of the other quotes I received this was still the cheapest price I found. All in all it was an ok experience, moving is never fun, the only real surprise was the cost of wrapping the furniture and how long it took to move a small apartment. I can't imagine how much it would have cost to move a large house.

They arrived on time and immediately got to work. The moved quickly and efficiently. They packed and boxed up everything. They were able to fit and organize my items into my storage room. Friendly and professional. I plan on using them again and referring them to my friends!

My boyfriend and I were prepared to make the move from our 4th floor one bedroom walk-up to a 3rd floor one bedroom brownstone on our own, but at the last minute we decided to see if any movers could potentially squeeze us in. We called a bunch of local movers from Angie's List and didn't get through to anyone?it was after 6pm on a Saturday evening, granted?but Norman picked up right away. We talked through the master list of items to be moved and offered us a very affordable deal. Norman was very communicative throughout the scheduling process?he returned our calls and emails promptly, even over the holiday weekend. He called the day before to confirm. His foreman called prior to the scheduled arrival time and offered to come early, as their previous job had finished up. Their truck had plenty of room for our belongings and space to spare (and we didn't pay anything extra for such a spacious truck). The foreman who led the team was incredibly helpful?his team was quick, efficient, thorough, strong, and friendly. They took excellent care of our belongings, furniture, and new mattress and did it all with a smile (which was most incredible, considering that we were moving during an absolutely torrential downpour!). Big thanks to Norman and his super team at Green City Movers for taking the stress out of our thunderstormy move. We got more than our money's worth and would certainly recommend them again.

it took longer than i thought, but maybe i misjudged how much stuff i had..they worked for 8 hrs, non stop...very great , friendly, helpful guys...and norman, the man i dealt with was also very professional and explained everything thru the whol procss..made the move very easy..
