The installation was expected to take the better part of the work day. It started on time at 8:00am with a crew of two. However, they had to quit for the night around 9:00pm with the job not quite done after claims of numerous parts that failed out of the box. That did not start us off with a feeling of confidence that we bought a quality system. A different crew came back the next morning to finish the job. As part of installing the additional baseboard register, the first crew allowed a hot piece of copper to melt a three quarter inch wide by approximately four inch long path in the carpet. We've had to have them back at least six times over the heating season, none of the issues major but annoying just the same. It took two return visits to resolve a minor leak in the oil line connection that was causing a fuel oil smell in the basement. As part of troubleshooting a rattling noise in one zone, a water leak occurred after they left resulting in a follow up visit to correct and re-bleed the zone. Twice a technician left saying they would get back to us but follow up never happened. In each case we had to re-arrange our work schedules to be here during their standard work hours. They never offered to work around our standard work hours even after the multiple visits. On a positive note, their staff was always courteous and professional, and they arrived when they said they would. In fact, they usually called within the hour of arrival to give a specific arrival time. April 2014: I just noticed the Provider Response to my original review. Just wanted to say that the follow up that they mentioned never happened. In fact, I went to their booth @ the 2013 Home & Garden Show at the State Fair Grounds to ask a maintenance question, not intending to bring up the past. However they asked how it went for us and so I told them not so well and followed with some details. They acted all concerned and said they would talk with the Service Manage and contact me to review the issues. Again, that follow never happened. To this day, the zone they added a length of register to has a very annoying rattle that I had them back a couple of times to try to resolve and they were unable to do so They are correct in that I did not bring up the melted carpet, figured nothing they could do about it at that point. However, I'd argue that the employee that did the damage should have brought it up, and should have tried to make it right. They've made multiple commitments to follow up but the follow up never occurred. I have not experienced their pledge to go the "extra mile". I stand by my original rating.

I called Holbrook a week after moving into my new house. The A/C had stopped working. Holbrook made a prompt appt and arrived on time. They were very upfront with their charges ($85 service charge, $90/hr labor plus parts/supplies). I thought it a bit steep, but probably just my unfamiliarity with the costs of services. The serviceman made a thorough inspection and accurate diagnosis. He recommended the cheaper of two courses of action (service the coolent versus replace the compressor - which will probably have to be done within the next year). It fixed the problem and A/C was fixed just in time for a very hot day. I would use Holbrook again.

Overall Holbrook was very professional, responsive, and I would certainly recommend them. All the staff I dealt with were personable and friendly. At the suggestion of a neighbor I contacted The Home Depot for a new furnace and a/c. Holbrook handled the installation. An estimator came to my home and checked out what I had, then gave me a quote on what I said I wanted. This was the third estimate I had received so I knew exactly the equipment specifications I wanted. He gave me exactly what I asked for at a quote that was about $900 - $1200 less than my other quotes. I wasn't looking for top of the line equipment - which was good because I quickly got the sense that I wouldn't get it. Rather than discussing all of the various options and quoting a menu of items as the other quotes did, the guy from Holbrook couldn't care less about describing the product to me - he told me to check the web for any information. Once I signed the paperwork, they sent a technician to check my existing set up and figure out technical details. I then arranged for a day and a half installation date through the office. The morning of the installation, the office called and told me Scott and Jason would be at my door in about 20 minutes. Sure enough they were. They worked steadily throughout the day and actually finished in one long day (it took 10 hours) rather than the day and a half I had scheduled. That was great because I really needed the a/c back on with the temperature going to 90. They cleaned up and left everything as clean (or cleaner) as they found it. Before leaving they explained all of the equipment and what I needed to do to maintain and trouble shoot problems. They were great. The only negative to my experience with Holbrook turned out to be that they failed to tell me about a $400 rebate from National Grid that I had to apply for before the installation. Another vendor had told me that the rebate was available but failed to mention I need to apply for it before the installation. When I found out it was too late.

I like them and their pricing is reasonable. They are not condescending to me and explain things.

The estimate was reasonable, and close to others that I got. The estimator was willing to answer all my questions & discuss the merits of various models. He also seemed cost-conscious and didn't try to sell me a more expensive A/C compressor than he believed I would need. The installers came at the estimated time, worked straight through the day, and left the area clean. They were very pleasant, and and answered my questions about operation and maintenance. I chose Holbrook again this time because they had done a good job last time, and were also responsive last summer when the A/C seemed to be having problems.

They installed the system, and they serviced it ever since. They're very efficient and cost effective. They're always easy to work with based on my schedule. They're clean technicians. They always clean after themselves.

Called Holbrook, they came the next day as I stated I did not have emergency. Service person showed up on time. Worked about 50 min. on problem. Found that the previous service person (from another firm) did not service the burner (Riello) correctly, had incorrect setting and incorrect nozzle. My only issue was the price, Holbrook charges about $90 for service call. I would think that that should cover the first hours work, but I was charged an additional $80 plus tax and parts. I was so glad to have problem resolved that I did not question this price, but upon reflection it does seem a little steep.

They sell Rheem products. I was very happy with the attention, service and product. I had a defect on my previous furnace, which nobody notified me about and I wasn't happy with that company so I decided against using that brand of furnace. This company was local and the product is energy efficient. They quickly responded and answered all my questions. Their crew seemed pretty competent at installing the system. They did the work when everybody seemed to be pretty busy because of the tax credit at the end of the year for high efficiency furnace. Our furnace had died and it wasn't our intention to do the work because of the tax credit but it worked out that way. Their price was pretty much in line. I would have preferred a different brand but I wasn?t happy with the way that they treated me. They were very professional and I will definitely use them in the future.

The price was very competitive. They gave me top of the line equipment and they installed in neatly and quickly. Phil the installer was friendly and knowledgeable and I would have no trouble hiring them again.

They were professional, on time and courteous. They were also very reasonably priced. They keep up on all our maintenance and everything and they called us regarding that.

Got them through a referral from Home Depot. First advised by company they could not come out for an estimate for weeks and then when I said I wasn't interested they managed to "fit me in" the next day. While waiting for estimate I did have them move a vent in the living room for me. I asked for a 3:00 PM time for that service but they insisted it couldn't be after 1:00 PM. I said fine and then their employee did not show up until after 3:30 PM. Work was done okay but I had to do much of the cleanup. Got an estimate on replacing hot water heater, gas furnace and central air conditioning. Negotiated price seemed acceptable. Was told several times that the payment would be $500.00 upon contract and balance upon completion of job. Met to finalize deal and when I told them I didn't have a Home Depot credit card and didn't want to apply for one I was suddenly told that the entire job would have to be paid in advance. I found that to be extremely deceptive and dishonest and that was the last I dealt with them. I don't know the quality of their HVAC work but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone based upon their practices.

After three estimates were obtained, we chose the Home Depot quote that subcontracted with this company. Since our furnace had died, and a huge winter storm was predicted, we appreciated their immediate responsiveness to our needs. From the time we confirmed the quote to when the Trane system was completely installed was less than 24 hours. They were on-time, efficient and professional.

They came quickly and did the job in two days. They came in at $1000 less than the competition. The quality of the work looks good.

They were great and we were very happy with their work. I felt that their price was reasonable. They were extremely efficient and after they removed the old unit, they gave me time to paint where the new unit was going in the utility room. After they put in everything new, they explained to us how it works and it was a very professional crew. They were very punctual, complete and we are squared away for the new season.
