 + -1 moreHe was very honest about all of our options. You won't find a harder worker and it is evident that he knows what he is doing. We are very pleased with the results! I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or highly recommend him!
Description of Work: We had crumbling brick stairs. He found a way to save us money by using the portions that were still good and replacing the section that wasn't. We thought we would have to have all new stairs. He gave us suggestions for railings and a place to go for estimates. Our retaining wall and patio has some sag. He pulled out some sections and filled it with crushed stone and filler pieces where needed.

 + -1 moreDave came out to estimate the project, went on the roof, took pictures and came down and explained everything that needed to be done and how he would do it. He called on Friday and 3 of them came to do the job the following Monday. They were very efficient, friendly and punctual - both when they showed up and when they finished. The job took the whole day, and they cleaned up perfectly when they were finished. Dave and his crew were really great, and I would definitely hire him again. He and his work are a class act...very happy with the job he did. Recommend very highly.
Description of Work: Dave repaired my chimney, including re-pointing brick around it, repairing some of the brick exposures, re-did the top and repaired all of the flashing.

 + 1 moreDavid Ferrarone was the best we could have hoped for. On time, reasonably priced, looked over the entire property and made us aware of problems we hadn't seen. Very informative about what needed repair and what didn't. Personable, no attitude. I wish his company did every type of work. We'd love to just use him for everything.

 + -1 moreIt's been a 3 year process, because for some reason, the chimney kept pealing. On Friday, the workers came back to finish and went above and beyond what I expected. They sealed it all above and around the roof area, painted it twice and made it look better than it ever has.I am sure I have not mentioned all that they actually did. My neighbor was so impressed, he asked for an estimate on his chimney. One disappointment is that I thought the whole chimney was going to be stuccoed all the way through it. I must say it does look very good and actually, the best looking chimney of it's type in my neighborhood. David's workers are very conscientious and care about the quality of their work.

 + -1 moreDavid returned calls and showed at all appointed times. He began work promptly and worked in very inclement weather to complete job on time. He built scaffolding and pulled wall to see what was behind. We then saw it had large rock fill behind it, instead of the dirt fill we expected. He pitched patio to center point and installed a scupper type drain there with concrete as he built the wall back up. It took 3 days to complete. He backed his work with a warranty.
Description of Work: Rebuilt section of 10' X 20' long dry-stacked limestone retaining wall and patio Middle section of wall was collapsing and bowing out. David approached wall as a repair instead of a rebuild and came up with a great, common sense, approach to fix it.

 + -1 moreHe did a great job fixing the first porch. I was very impressed. He was timely, thorough and did a good job. I called him to fix another porch and landscape the front yard, He once again did a very good job. I did have to call him back to secure the ramp that was in the front yard. He did this right away. I then asked him to fix several windows. Some were broken and others did not open correctly. He did fix some but not others and the storm window no longer fits one of the windows he fixed. I called him several times asking him to complete the job. He never came. I will not use him again even though he did great work on two of the jobs

 + -1 moreAll went well as previously noted. He called back within 48 hours of initial contact. I did have to call him about five days after his visual estimate to get a written estimate, however, a week after I received the written estimate he called for permission to start 5/1/2013. Job completed 2 weeks exactly after he showed up for visual estimate of work to be done. He completed the work in just over 24 hours and all went according to plan and to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a section of sidewalk adjacent to front steps, and repaired several cracks in other sections of sidewalk. Work was done timely and in a professional manner. Although job was estimated for one full day, Dave came back next morning to complete several small items which needed the poured concrete to dry first. He also took the opportunity to recheck the crack patches and add more patch as needed. Its been two weeks since job completed and all looks fine. I am very satisfied with Dave's work.

Description of Work: Mr. Ferrarone answered his phone when I first called him over the weekend, we set up an appointment for him to look at our chimney. He was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable; he has been doing masonry work for many years. His work site was cleaned up at the end of the day, he was willing to stop his work and come and talk with my wife and I concerning our chimney. There was no loud music on his site and he was pleasant in the matter in which he spoke with us. I called another chimney company that was within a mile of our house and it took a few days and emails to hear back from them. I was very impressed with Mr. Ferrarone in that he answered his phone every time I called; I was taken with his customer service!

 + 0 moreOverall, Dave gave me great insight into what needed to be done. He addressed my chimney (out of sight) by sealing the stuck-up area. In addition, his assistant sealed my gaps in stucco on the outside of my home. There were several areas that needed sealing so they were filled. The finish did not match the exact pattern of other stucco, yet I was more pleased with just getting it sealed than with making it perfect. I believe, if I asked, Dave would come by and fine-tune.
Description of Work: Frankly I'm not sure how much I paid. That said, I appreciated Dave doing a job in line with the price I paid. He and his team repaired my stucco and did it well. Aesthetically, it could have been better. In terms of fixing my problems, I was very satisfied. Dave is a fine, trustworthy person. If I had a problem with following up, I know he would come through. I do recommend him.

Description of Work: We hired Dave for a chimney inspection. Our fireplace had not been used in over 30 years and we needed confirmation that it would be safe to use the fireplace. Dave arrived precisely on the scheduled time of the appointment and carefully and neatly performed the inspection. Dave worked around Christmas decorations on the fireplace mantle and cleaned up after with his shop vac. Dave will return to fix a minor issue that he discovered and to also replace a screen in the chimney to prevent our problem with trapped birds in the chimney in early spring.

Dave is very easy to work with, doesn't push and doesn't try to take on projects beyond his capacity. Part of the other basement repair was done by another company that Dave recommended due to the special services required. Dave provides trustworthy and consistently excellent work.
Description of Work: We have used David for three different jobs over the last 18 months. He repaired a large section of a collapsed basement wall, repaired a chimney and rain gutters and removed broken sidewalks after which he installed a new drainage system to re-route runoff water away from our basement. .
