Description of Work: Replaced sewer line from house to septic tank. Performed the work quickly and efficiently, making sure to correct any damage caused during digging (they inadvertently hit an underground electrical line). Did a great job fixing a problem caused by another vendor. They're a little pricey, but so far, it's been worth it.

+ 0 moreThey were punctual and did a good job. However I didn't ask ahead of time what they would charge for the faucet cartridge replacement; if I had I probably would have done it myself after all. It might be the going rate, I don't know, but it seemed like a lot.

Description of Work: On Tuesday morning we found the kitchen sink was backing up. I researched Angie's List and found good reviews about Cross Brother Plumbing. We have used several other plumbing companies over a 20 year period and had middling to poor results with them. When I called Cross Brothers, I spoke with Joyce who was very pleasant and upbeat. I described our problem and she said that they were booked solid for the day but would come to our house the next day (Wednesday) between 12 noon and 2 PM. She also suggested that we call the Town of Dewitt (actually turned out to be Onondaga County) and ask them to clean from the vent pipe to the street. No plumbing company had suggested this to us in 20 years of sewer problems every 2-3 years. We called the County and they came out and did the cleaning (and found lots of roots in the pipes) within 2 hours. Kudos to the Onondaga County Sewer crew. On Wednesday, Joyce called back about 11:35 to say that the plumbers were finishing a job, would have lunch, and would arrive at our house at 1 pm. They arrived at 12:45 pm and went right to work. Bob and Lenny understood what the problems were, explained what they were going to do in advance, and went to work immediately. They were professional, neat, efficient, and pleasant. They cleaned the additional roots out of the sewer pipes in short order; and then tested the pipes flow to make certain that there were no other problems. The cost of the job was EXACTLY what was quoted by Joyce when I had originally called her -- no surprises. Cross Brothers Plumbing staff were great. I recommend them highly to anyone in the Dewitt-Jamesville-Syracuse area with pluumbing problems. It was wonderful to work with professionals.

+ -1 moreThey came out the same day later in the afternoon, diagnosed the problem and presented a solution that would prevent future smells from escaping the drain. They came back on 2/16 to do the work which was completed more than satisfactorily.
Description of Work: I called on 2/14 with a non-emergency issue. We had noticed a sewer smell whenever we started a load of laundry, and wanted someone to see if we had any problems with our drain.

Description of Work: Had kitchen sink faucet replaced because it was old, leaking, and ugly. I had bought a faucet to replace the original at the local hardware store because I thought I was going to change it out myself. After taking a second look under my sink, I realized that would be a bad idea. I have used Cross Brothers before and called them back. Lenny with Cross Brothers explained that if he installed the unit I bought that Cross Brothers could not guarantee the faucet. Lenny had a nice unit on the truck that was reasonably priced and warranted for a year.

+ 0 moreI called Cross Bros because the first company I called on Friday, 7/23/2010 did not clean the sewer, leaving the house with a backed up sewer all weekend. (The 23rd was a Friday.) Cross responded the following Monday, squeezing us into their very tight schedule because of our situation, and had the sewer cleaned out within 2 hours. They had to replace the pvc installed by the original plumber because it was the wrong size. In doing so, they found the pipe to which the replaced pvc had been attached was rotted and required replacing. They scheduled this work for 2 days later. When Cross Bros returned, they dug out the concrete in the basement to expose that pipe and replace a portion at a time, until they reached a tee that was not rotted where they could attach the new pvc. This potentially saved me a huge amount of money because they did not automatically dig out the whole line all the way to the street. They fully informed me of my options at this point. Every person with whom I dealt at Cross Bros., including the office personnel, was professional, responsive, courteous, and helpful. They answered all my questions patiently. They were there when they said they would be and did a beautiful job. They obviously know their trade, and were considerate and cleaned up after themselves. I give them my highest recommendation without reservation.
Description of Work: Unclogged sewer. Removed existing PVC piping installed by different plumber because it was wrong size and cleaned sewer w/ rod-o-matic machine. Chopped out concrete and replaced rotted piping from stack to first tee in line. Hauled concrete and piping away. Patched floor.

OK with me. They would call me Friday morning. Friday 0805 Cross people called saying they were on the way. 0830 They arrived at our home. 1030 They were done. There were two guys doing the work and I have no complaints about their work and they were friendly.
Description of Work: Replace Kitchen sink waste from stack up to into cabinet. Remove waste piping and basket strainer to the kitchen sink. About 25 feet of piping.
