I am very pleased with Star Light Construction. They did a perfect job, they completed the project on time and they were thoughtful, courteous and kind. I would use them again and I would recommend them to family and friends.

I had worked with Basit and Star Light previously for a major paint job at my home and was very satisfied with the work and price. The current project involved removing laminate flooring in the kitchen, placing long lasting material over old ceramic tile to create a level surface, and then laying luxury vinyl plank flooring. The job was started on the Monday following the Friday when Star Light was hired (much sooner than I could have hoped); the price was great; the job was completed 24 hours later; and the floor looks terrific. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Workers were polite and courteous, Owner was professional, articulate and honest.

I hired Starlight Construction to paint a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom coop. The painting involved all walls, ceilings, moldings, baseboards, closets, shelves, doors. There were plenty of holes and cracks in the walls and ceiling from the previous owner. Basit, who is the Vice President of the company along with his cousin came out for the estimate on a Monday night around 8 PM. because that was the only convenient time for me. That night, I agreed to hire Starlight Construction for the job. The very next morning, Basit prepared all the necessary paperwork for the job and forwarded it to our coop management office for approval. The job was approved to begin the very next day. Had it not been for Basit's quickness and efficiency in gathering all the necessary documents to present before the coop Management, the approval would have been delayed. As for the paint job, Starlight Construction takes great pride in doing the job right. They patched every hole, filled every crack with multiple coats of plaster. The prep work was very extensive. The next stepped involved painting all the surfaces with a minimum 2 coats of paint. Some surfaces received 3 coats of paint. But I was only charged for 2 coats as per agreement. Starlight Construction is completely family owned and operated, which means they truly care about their reputation. They strive to do their best without cutting corners. Basit is always available by phone, text, and e-mail. Basit is fully involved with all aspects of the project from handling the estimate, paperwork and ensuring the job is completed in a satisfactory manner. So you are not dealing with a receptionist who takes down your information and passes it on to someone else who forwards it to someone else which causes delays and misinformation. I truly love the paint job Starlight construction did. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to hire a contractor and I personally will hire them again for any future renovations. UPDATE: I hired Star Light Construction to install a washing machine in the kitchen of my parent's coop. In order to hook up the washing machine they had to install check valves, back flow preventer, and install a larger diameter waste pipe to accommodate the larger volume of waste water draining down the pipe. The plumbing work was successful and well done. The coop manager and super inspected the plumbing work and was impressed with the completed job. I highly recommend Star Light Construction for anyone looking to hire a full service contractor.

They came when they said they would, arranged a date and begin painting on a Friday and finished on a Saturday. I'm having him do more work for me because I thought he was excellent. They were very pleasant, polite and professional.

Objective: The job was painting/plastering living room, dining room, cat walk and skim coating 2 ceilings with paint touch ups in other rooms which was agreed upon. Someone (Basit's brother) from management was always on site. Job was last week for 5 days. Owner did not inspect job at the end or perform a walk through. I found all errors and defaults on my own. Subjective: I will start by saying that the actual workers are skilled and very polite. On my crew was Edward and Noy. This job could've turned out amazing if corners weren't cut....that's the root of the problem Basit's brother (who is very young) tried to get snippy the last day when I asked to have some furniture moved back. Basit had to tell him to keep quiet. Positive: *workers know their trade *excellent skim coating of uneven ceilings *price was fair if all was actually done properly Negative: *somewhat sloppy and not thorough with clean up and vacuuming *they were down one man 3 out of the 5 days (my thought was that the company was juggling workers to different locations) *Basit (the owner) was very agreeable to all at first but as the job went on later in the week, corners were cut. The last day, they were again one man down and had to stay 3 hours past 5 o'clock on a Friday. *at the end of the job, they were clearly not done (baseboards that were not clearly visible, they did not paint at all. Trim and moldings only got one coat (even I can see that). *If you are not sitting and watching them for hours through each detail, they will not complete all as per the contract. I was trying to work on my laptop from home that week and I'm sorry I didn't just take vacation days so I could watch constantly. My largest space (living room and cat walk) did not get a second coat. I can see spots of the old white paint through the new paint. Lots of inconsistencies and errors *my living room steps that were in the contract and that was part of the job, was not painted and I was told "we will do them when you hire us for the next job". That's not acceptable. Conclusion and Suggestions: *Know upon hiring that you MUST sit and watch the entire job. Basit will say and convince you that they will always do the right thing and he is very believable but, that's not what happens. I contacted Basit when I discovered a huge crack that they didn't repair (also hidden behind furniture) and his response (after reaching out to him 2 days in a row) was that he was on a big job and didn?t know when he could return. Just beware and have EVERYTHING written down clearly with no room for misinterpretation (unfortunately, I still like to go on the honor system. That will NOT work with this company. Again, technically they are able to do the work but, it?s the cutting corners that make for an inadequate, incomplete and sloppy job. Do not issue the last check until ALL and EVERYTHING is complete. Hired Basit and his team to paint a 2 bedroom apartment and to update all the electrical outlets. I noticed some walls came out perfect while some walls are more bumpy/grainy. Basit explained to me that it was because of the condition of the walls were different and would required additional prep work. I assumed when he assessed the apartment initially, all of that would have been considered. So if the walls required different type of prep work to make them look like new walls, it would've been nice to have that explained to me in the beginning. On the other hand, Basit was extremely accommodating with rescheduling and when I asked for minor cosmetic touch-ups. Overall, I'm satisfied with the job Basit did for the apartment.

I am overjoyed at the job Star Light Construction did on the interior painting of my entire home. Star Light was so professional from the first point of contact all the way through to completion of the entire job. There was a detailed daily update, and I never had any open points that had not already been noted by the project manager to be completed. They were easy to deal with, and I was especially thankful for the flexibility they had in staging the job to meet my family's needs. They state that their goal is a satisfied customer, and that was very clear during each part of the job.

The work was excellent and the employees were most gracious, polite and trustworthy. They all worked hard throughout the full day and were extremely neat and clean. They left the apartment in spotless condition, covered all the cabinets and floor prior to painting. I would highly recommended Star Light to all my friends.

Star Light Construction did a wonderful job painting our apartment. They repaired the walls that were badly damaged, they removed wallpapers, and painted every room. They completed the job in two days in spite of the fact that our apartment was still full of boxes from our move. They helped us move the furniture and boxes in order for them to be able to paint. When they finished the job, they put everything back in place and cleaned up everything. Basit is very professional and easy to communicate with. He bent over backwards to satisfy our requests, and he gave us a very affordable price. On the first day, he personally came with three of his men to work, And at the end of the job he came over again to make sure that we were satisfied with the result. Our apartment looks great and I would definitely use Basit and his crew again in the future. I highly recommend Bassett and Star Light Construction.

Basit was the person I was in contact with through out the construction. He's very professional and very on point every time we spoke. The accountability level is an A+++ for this company. He would give me updates every end of the day. They respect me by asking me before doing anything. They took the initiative to give me suggestions when needed. Everything is well covered. I live in a Co-op and the mgmt is strict but I had zero complaints from my neighbors. Post Construction: everything is cleaned up the way it was. I am happy with their work and especially their professionalism. Most importantly, their price is good and very reasonable. I've gotten 3 other quotes and they were double their price. I will definitely hire them again as they prove their excellent craftsmanship.

I was very anxious about having my entire apartment painted all at once. The Star Light guys came in and in 2 days had completely finished the job. They did excellent work in the repairs I needed and a neat & clean paint job. The guys were very kind and reassuring that they could handle anything I asked of them. I would highly recommend Star Light Construction and have them on my speed dial for my next project.
