HORRIBLE!! The salesman trys to push for $500mirrors and neglects to tell you that the contracters will not paint the ceiling, put the trimwork around windows or around the top of the bathroom. Marble in the shower was cracked and fixed with caulk, they do not seal the tile with sealent, we had to do that ourselves. Toilet was put in wrong and we had a leak. We we're given numbers to contact the project manager that didn't work! No one ever returned your phone call when you called the 800 number, I am still waiting for a response to the horrible experience we had, its now October! You are told that you will always get calls form the team, ha ha never happened once! TAke your business eleswhere! I will never use Sears again!

The salesman made a computer drawing of the poposed renovations that did not contain all of the details discussed. Timelines and appointments for installations were not kept, causing me to lose 5 days from my job. Sears staff did not respond to my phone calls or emails with questions in a reasonable timeframe. No one told me what I needed to do to pepare my home for the delivey and installation of new materials. No one discussed warranties with me. No one talked with me about the fact that although they measured my existing cabinets, they would be using "stock" not customized cabinets, which ended up being smaller than my original cabinets and leaving 2" of old floor exposed around the base of my cabinets. I had to argue with Sears to get them to do something to cover the exposed old floor tile, which took a few weeks. No one explained to me about my responsibility concerning permits and final inspections. I found out by calling my township office. The cabinets were designed incorrectly, leaving me with several square feet of unusable space. Worse, the lazy susan cabinets that I was supposed to get (in the unused space) were not there, but they put in tow mini-suzans there instead, which were not usable due to their size and how they placed them in the cabinet space. Worse, just 2 weeks ago, I saw that my new sink had scratches on it and a chip out of the top. I think the scratches came from an old collander that I have had forever and which has never scratched any of my sinks. I called Sears to request someone to look at it and to find out when I would receive my warranty papers for my kitchen parts. I Sears employee came out two weeks later, took a photo of the sink scratches, and told me he would give the photos to the manager, who would contact me. It's been one month since I had the photos taken, and still no contact fom Sears. They old me that the warranty for the products was on the reverse side of the work descriptions. The Sears guy taking photos could not find the chip when he came; so nothing has been done about it yet. There are more promises broken and lies told involving this remodeling project. Suffice it to say that I will NEVER use Sears again, especially now that I am a member of Angie's List!
Description of Work: This was a kitchen remodeling job that went wrong from the very beginning. Not discussing with me what was to be done, by whom, what I needed to do in preparation, etc. from the first draft drawing of the work, which was not what I received for installation. Subcontractors did a nice job in preparing the cabinets, counter tops, and other materials; and plumbers & electricians were good; but Sears staff did not contact me or rturn my calls throughout the process of answer my questions in a timely maner.

I first contacted Sears Home Services about having my kitchen counters and floor replaced. I had an appointment scheduled with them on July 12, 2013. When I got home, I found a message on my answering machine cancelling the appointment. I was contacted by them about 8 days later and another appointment was scheduled for July 22, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. on the telephone. I received an e-mail from them that my appointment was confirmed for July 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. (not the original 6:00 p.m. I scheduled it for). I called and cancelled the appointment. However, this morning, July 22, 2013, I received another e-mail from them again confirming my appointment for 10:00 a.m. with the picture of the representative who was arriving at my house. I work and will not be home for that appointment. I feel that they are unreliable and certainly don't have their act together! Once before, I called for service on my washing machine. I received a call that the appointment was being cancelled and had to be rescheduled. I had taken off time from work for that appointment.

I had a coupon in the mail for their services. I called because I need new counter tops and floor in the kitchen and powder room. The person I spoke with (located in Florida) was not very friendly. An appointment was set up for Friday, 06/12/13, at 6:00 p.m. When I got home from work on Thursday, 06/11/13, I had a call on my answering stating that they were canceling the appointment. There was no explanation about why they were cancelling the appointment. I contacted Sears Home Services because I really like to have shop at home service and they provide this. This is not the first time this happened with Sears. Once before, I called because I needed service on my washing machine. An appointment was set up and I took time off from work. I was called that day and told that the appointment was being cancelled. I feel that they are not reliable.

He wasn't listening to me, I was trying to ask him questions and he told the people at Sears that I had an issue with him because he was calling and making appointments with someone to show up and do an estimate like the following day. And I was like, I don't think so, at eight o'clock I'm going to be having my breakfast and I'm not going to be talking to a house factor and I said you call me up when I'm home and the guy wasn't listening to me. He was not the guy that came up to the house though, the guy that came out to the house was much nicer. He at least tried to do the guy's round like measuring but again his price was higher so I got a higher price estimate from Sears. Sears Home Improvements did write down a couple of things on paper but it it wasn't really what I would call real estimates.
Description of Work: Well the guy who was there at the home show for Sears Home Improvements was just trying to get people to sign up people for a booking.
