I needed help with lights and outlets that weren’t working, after calling G and R, they came the same day to help. AJ was very good at explaining what the problem was, but price might be high for some.

I had installed a ground fault outlet, and it didn't work. I went on Angi to find an electrician, and G&R was on the list. Ganesh called at 3:00 to say they had a guy, Omish, in Manhattan that day, and he would be coming that afternoon. At 3:43 he was at the front door of the building, and called to ask what apartment we were in. He was very pleasant, and unscrewed the wires to the outlet box, replaced them with wires he had with him, installed the outlet box that I had purchased, and was done in 15 minutes. He did not give me an estimate before he did the work. He computed the cost, and told me it would be $336.00 if I paid in cash, because there would be no tax, and if I paid with a credit card, he would have to add tax and a 5% surcharge for the credit card. At 4:09, I was at the ATM around the corner, getting cash to pay him --$340.00 because he did not have any change. He said he would email me the receipt. He did not. I called the office twice over the week to request a receipt. It never came, and I felt I was lied to. UPDATE: When the plumber I hired came to install the garbage disposal that plugs into the ground fault outlet, it turned out that the outlet was not installed for an on/off switch, and had to be done over. So I had to pay another electrician to fix the work that G&R had done. Don't hire these guys.

Ajay, who did who did the job, was extremely knowledgeable and polite. He explained all the details to me and found what the problem was. I recommend this company highly. It was a tad expensive ;but I'm a novice to any electrical work so I suppose the going rate is the going rate. They are insured and bonded.
