Above and beyond best describes our experience with Sioux O'Conner and her crew. I'll break it down for you. Sioux and crew were on time very morning for the two weeks they were at our house. They brought all of their equipment ( ladders, drop clothes, paint ) ahead of time as not to waste time on their first day, They spoke with me about the best places to keep equipment, and they placed everything out of the way. Every night they tucked everything back into it's place. Sioux and crew stripped the entire house and they were methodical about making sure every last paint chip was picked up. Having small children and an old house, Sioux worked with our schedule to make sure we could be away when they were stripping the paint. She made sure all the doors and windows were closed, and they tarped and removed all evidence of the paint chips. At one point I saw the crew actually vacuuming the grass. Sioux's crew was extremely professional and friendly. They worked very hard, they were always smiling and just nice to have around. They would say hi to the kids, pet the dog, and I never saw them talking on their phones, texting, or wasting time. They took their shoes off when the used the bathroom and they did not play music like some crews do. They even worked around our kids nap schedules when they were scraping to make sure they didn't wake up our kids. Sioux's crew painted our entire 4000 sq ft house by HAND. No messy sprayers. The house was literally transformed. They worked systematically as a crew to be very efficient. They were like ants, everyone was constantly moving. The crew was very detail oriented. They removed all the window screens as not to have any splatter or drips and the paint job looked impeccable. Simply said Sioux was great to work with. The price we paid and the quote were one and the same. Sioux spoke with us each step of the way to make sure we were up to speed on the progress. There certainly are a lot of choices when it comes to painters in this area. I know a lot of people talk about having great customer service, we saw this in action when using Sioux O'Conner. We had agreed to have Sioux paint our shutters, and we all thought it would be a good idea to just paint one side, as no one would be able to see the other side. Sioux took all of the shutter to her shop, sanded and painted them, and then put them back on the house. About a week after the job was completed we started to noticed that through a few windows from the inside you could see the old color when looking out. You couldn't really see it unless you looked for it, but it was enough to catch my eye and it bothered me. I called Sioux and without hesitation or extra cost she sent the crew out and took off every shutter, painted the back side. and hung them back up. That is what I call customer service. Sioux O'Conner Painting is top notch!

See above. Angie's list has no painters in the greater Ithaca, NY area that paints roofs but we have found several by private ad and word of mouth. This was a waste of time. I was also unable to find or add a roof painting category.

I called and left a message. Ms. O'Connor returned my call and we made an appt for her to come to see the building. She came but was frightened by the barking dog in the driveway. We made an appointment for the next day, when it was pouring, and she pointed out carpentry that would need to be done before the painting could occur, and also remarked on the difficulty of getting equipment to the location. She was helpful and polite, and I feel would have done a good job if possible.

I called the owner in the spring. Within weeks she provided a written quote detailing start/complete work dates and a clear payment schedule. The crew is fully insured which was important to me because our 2nd story is very high off the ground - the house is located on the side of a steep slope. Two months later on the designated day, the crew arrived @ 8 am and completed the work within days of the schedule.The entire experience was positive - the painting excellent and tidy. The crew cleaned up after themselves every day. Every continuous workday from 8 am until 4 pm the crew worked without complaint on task. No swearing, smoking or weird audible music. We have been happy with the job and the paint still looks great after two years. One of the windows was stuck the following autumn and the owner came back with the crew to fix the problem, pronto. Since then we have had them for one more job, this time interior- painting a living room ceiling and the quality was just as good. Bravo!
