I highly recommend Rich Brothers. The quality of their work, their professionalism, their willingness to fully respond to any questions or concerns of mine before or during the project, and their care and attention to the work were of the highest level. As promised in the contract for the work, they replaced a good deal of rotted or deteriorated underlayment and performed other remedial work necessary to prepare for the new roof and never requested a dime beyond the contract price. Once they arrived on the job with their team, they devoted their full attention to the work on my home and did not leave until five days later when all the work was completed and I was completely satisfied. When they left, my yard and property were left thoroughly cleaned of almost any trace whatsoever that the contractors had been on the premises. Now several months later, I have not found even a single roofing nail anywhere on the property. Despite getting several other estimates from other roofers in the area for precisely the same work, many of which were substantially higher (J.D. Ferro's estimate, for example, was the highest of all and many thousands higher) for no apparent good reason, I am glad I took the advice of several friends who also had good experiences with Rich Brothers. With regard to the price for this work, note that the previous owners were unable or unwilling to perform all sorts of required work on the roof for decades before I purchase the home so that when I finally replaced the roof, a great deal of remedial had to be performed to make up for 30 years or so of neglect. In addition, because the house is a craftsman/arts-and-crafts bungalow with a low-pitched roof covering a large floor plan, there was a large roofing surface to cover/replace/remedy. Since Rich Bros price was the lowest of the well-qualified/reputable contractors perhaps it's unfair for me to assign them a mere and quot;Band quot; grade in this category--I would have assigned an and quot;A-and quot; or and quot;B+and quot; but Angie's List doesn't permit this sort of gradation. Although once Scottie Rich, his brother and crew arrived, I had no trouble whatsoever contacting them, or obtaining their full attention to discuss any question or concerns of mine about the progress of the work, there was an issue with the time it took for these folks to return my phone calls and emails when I was initially trying to make arrangement to get an estimate and when I submitted some changes to the intitial draft version of the contract for the work. It may have taken two to three weeks for a response at times. I cannot explain why this part of their service does not match up with their excellent workmanship; but I believe that if you will have some patience, you are likely to have the same great outcome that I did.

They are extremely difficult to get ahold of. I called 4-5 times to get an estimate set up and left 2 messages, and my calls were not returned. Eventually I did manage to speak with someone, and we set up an appointment for an estimate. Someone came, inspected the roof, and said they would mail or email the estimate. They took about two weeks before they sent the estimate. During this time I called another 6 times with no one answering the phone and left 3 messages. They have a good reputation around here, but it is surprising how they can maintain this with such terrible responsiveness.
Description of Work: Came to house for estimate of new roof.

Came promptly to give estimate, was friendly and cooperative, answered all questions. Submitted second lowest bid out of six bids I received. Scheduled job during the time frame I wanted. He and his crew showed up when he said, the entire job was completed in four days. No landscaping was damaged, the area was left clean, and the roof looks great.
Description of Work: Tore off old shingles, laid down new 30 yr. shingles and all necessary components.
