Description of Work: HSC installed a pair of Mitsubishi "Mr Slim" mini-split electric HVAC/Heat Pump units for AC and heating. |Their initial installation was relatively prompt and efficient, but they ended up mounting the condenser units on the exterior siding instead of on concrete pads/frames as originally proposed. The 'anti-vibration' mounts were anything but and caused substantial vibration noise that echoed throughout the house. |They did warrant their work and about a year later moved them onto the original designed concrete pads/frames, but the hosing and connections were not reinstalled, so they look significantly less clean than they should as the measurements were for the wall mount and not on the slabs. (The existing hoses were pulled away from the surface-mount plastic sheathes along the siding and appear to be 'stretched' in an odd angle instead of routed cleanly.) | |The units only have basic remote controls despite promises of a true thermostat unit during the sales process. Since installation, we have repeatedly asked about installation of the manufacturer-described remote thermostat controls (part numbers and descriptions in both the users manuals and on the Mitsubishi site); HSC claims that they cannot sell or install these as they are not supported. (I can find no reference indicating they are not supported/sold in the US and I have spoken with numerous businesses that have similar "Mr Slim" units with full timer/thermostat wall controls.) | |Since original installation, the upstairs unit has had a motor unit develop noise within the first year and appeared to have degraded cooling. This part was also replaced under warranty, but took roughly 6-8 weeks after order to arrive and the service tech that did the replacement did not seem to be as familiar with the equipment as the original team that installed the units. | |Annual cleaning/maintenance seems to be fair and thorough, but it is hard to judge whether we are getting our money's worth for the service fees charged.

I consider this to be the epitome of unprofessional customer service. This could have all been taken care of in the same fashion had Marvin provided that he was not interested on the initial consult.

Description of Work: I had a leak with my boiler plumping. I looked around during the late hours for reputable heating experts in my area. I found HSC and sent an e-mail using the contact function on Angie's List. I thought worse case, I would call in the morning. They called me first thin in the morning! After talking to George, he stated that where I live is on the out skirts of thier service area. They did work in my area, but drive time would be a cost factor. He asked me about my problem and offered to look at some pictures if I could send them to him. I took pictures pin pointing where my leak was coming from and sent them to him. Within 15 minutes he called me back and told me that I just needed to replace an air escapte valve, which I could do easily myself and should run $15 to $20. I was great to know there are some vendors out there that go out of thier way to help others....even if it mean no sale for them. I will definatly look to them when I need any heating work done.

When my 25 year old furnace malfunctioned on Wednesday of last week, during the first deep cold snap of the season, it was turned off by a service provider from a different company (not HSC), and I was advised that it would be dangerous to turn it on again. After reviewing the estimates I had received last year, I decided to have HSC replace the furnace. I called them from work on Thursday, and they agreed to honor the estimate that they had given me 6 months before. They also said that they would come to the house early Friday to get the old furnace running for the weekend since they couldn't put the new furnace in until Monday. (I couldn't be back soon enough to let them in on Thursday.) The service person came on Friday and the house was warm for the weekend. I am annoyed that the other company let me suffer through two very cold nights and thankful that the HSC service person knew what to do. He was careful, took his time, despite it being the end of the day, and explained what he was doing and what he thought was wrong with the furnace. Even though the house was warm, the furnace was clearly at the end of its life and had become unreliable. It was time to replace it. The HSC people came on Monday morning and four hours later, left me with a quiet, clean, high efficiency furnace purring away in the basement. They were polite, quiet, worked very quickly, cleaned up afterwards, and answered all of my questions. Since the air conditioner is also 25 years old, and we have had problems with it as well, HSC will be installing a new one as part of the package. The inside fittings were installed along with the new furnace. The condenser and other outdoor components will be installed in the spring, when the snow is gone.
Description of Work: Restarted old furnace then replaced it with new furnace. Installed indoor components of air conditioning system at the same time. The outdoor work on the air conditioner will be done in the spring. The price quoted above includes both furnace and air conditioner.

They are a really reliable company and have always helped us out whether it be for a simple, inexpensive yearly AC maintenance or for the replacement of the compressor a few years ago when the old one finally gave out.i would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Installation was 2 weeks later, 3-man crew arrived on time and did work in 1 day, although supervisor ran final checks and tests for 1 hour the following day. Crew was courteous and well-prepared with correct tools and equipment. Work product looks solid to me.
Description of Work: Replaced 30-year-old furnace with a new, high efficiency furnace. At the same time, installed central air conditioning, since the house already has duct work for it. Removed and disposed of old furnace.
