SUFFOLK COUNTY CARPENTER HANDYMAN

The price quoted by Suffolk County Carpenter Handyman was probably a little bit higher than it should have been. They showed up four hours early and I was supposed to pick up supplies prior to them coming so it created an issue. They didn't cut any wood to fit, they just jammed the wood into place, which then made the rest of the door frame uneven so now the door does not close properly. There is a gap at the top of the door and the door doesn't fully shut now. They chipped a lot of paint and wood from part of the door frame on the other side and they left a pretty big mess. They were friendly. I called the owner about this a week after the fact as I had to go out of town the day after the work was done and he would not entertain coming back for a repair to the work that was done. I highly suggest staying away from this company.

EXCELLENT SHOWED UP WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO. HE CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF EVERYDAY AND I WAS PLEASED WITH HIS WORK. HE WAS VERY NICE TO TALK TO ABOUT HIS WORK. AND I WOULD CALL HIM IN AN INSTANT.

I got this company from Angie's List and had them come and give an estimate which the worker told us we needed to get all of these other things done or it would damage the house. We said okay and agreed to a set price. I had asked that the prices be broken down and they never were and when I ask each time, I am given another price quote. The first day they power washed the house which was good and the second day they did the construction work that we had contracted for but they never finished the job and also ripped down our gutters and never put them back. I have been trying to call them but they don't get back to me and I have to keep calling. They require payment up front before doing the work and they say I still owe them money but I have paid 85% due and the work is not even close to be done. I do not feel that this company is a honest company in dealing with for large projects.

The two uniformed workmen arrived on time and did the work without any problems. They had all the latest equipment, and cleaned up when done. The job was well planned and took about an hour and half from start to finish. I would recommend them. If had to point out a weakness it would be with the office who took my calls. I never got a copy of the contract they promised to send me until the day the workmen came to do the work.

THE WORK IS EXCELLENT. THEY HAVE WONDERFUL WORKERS. THE ONLY THING IS THAT THEY ARE HARD TO GET A HOLD OF. THEY ARE LATE TO SHOW UP OR DON'T SHOW UP AT ALL. THEY ARE JUST DISORGANIZED ON THEIR SCHEDULING.
