All Island Fence and Railings

We wanted to have fencing installed prior to moving to our new home. All Island was able to accommodate the timing, they sent a team of five plus workers to install the fencing over two days. They worked non-stop to ensure it was completed prior to our move in. Absolutely awesome experience!

I arranged a time for the estimate. On the day of the estimate I called early in the day to reschedule and was given a new time. The salesman (Patrick) had actually arrived one hour earlier than the originally scheduled time (he dropped his card in the mailbox)I called the company three times and the salesman twice and texted him once. No follow up response at all. I guess this company is too busy to need my job. If this is how they treat prospective customers, I am glad that I learned before paying for a job. I'm taking my business (and my recommendation to a friend that needs his backyard fenced in) somewhere else.

With so many big companies out there. It is a pleasure to find one that is reliable and does the job you order. They came on time with a crew of three people who knew what they were doing. Everyone from the salesman to the installers did a great job. If anyone is looking to get a fence done this is the company to call. I highly recommend.

The men also worked in the rain until I told them that it would be ok to return another day,which they did & finished up with a nice clean job! The whole job was pleasant,from Robert the estimater & the installers.

Did not use but would consider using again in the future

The sales rep - Bob - seemed very nice and accommodating. He gave me an estimate for when they would come and the week before I was called and told they would come on the following Monday between 1 and 3. I had a prior appointment scheduled for the morning which I GLADLY would have moved if they were coming in the morning as I had been anxiously awaiting the installation of the new fence - we have numerous spring projects hinging on its completion. Fast forward to the day of, I'm at my morning appointment and I get a call on my cell that they're outside my house. I told the caller - who didn't introduce himself - that I was told the project wasn't starting until 1. He said, "OK", and hung up. I arrived home at 12:30 and waited until about 2:30. Then I called the sales rep who suggested I call the office. I spoke with the office manager who said she would call the team and get back to me. She called a little while later and seemed confused that I was given a specific time for the start. Then she put me on hold and the scheduler - DON - got on the phone. Don told me that he NEVER would have given me a time window like that and that I should have been there in the morning. I said that I would have been there had I been told that's when they were coming. He asked if I had received a confirmation call, I had, there was no time given [which didn't seem odd since I already had a time and why would I assume there was a discrepancy]. I find it difficult to believe that I fabricated the time window. Then, he said he could put me on the schedule for the following week which was unacceptable as we had other commitments. He said he was sorry but that's all he could do. I was frustrated and said, "you're not sorry", and then he said, "You know what? You're right! Personally, I'M NOT SORRY." So, I said goodbye and called Bob and demanded my money back. Bob seemed beside himself, said he would call me back after speaking with the owner. He called late that night and left a message. I spoke with him the next morning and he said they could do it on Friday (today) and would that be OK. I said yes - thank you. As of 11 am this morning (today is Friday!), they still hadn't shown up. I called Bob, left a message, he didn't call back. My husband called 30 minutes later, spoke to Bob, who is surprised no one is here, and says he'll get back to us. Turns out, that when he called to reschedule us they said Friday meaning NEXT Friday. He thought they meant THIS Friday and booked us in. I have no patience for this. First off, their communication skills are atrocious. Secondly, the rudeness of their scheduler was absolutely unacceptable. Thirdly, WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THEIR SCHEDULING? I've worked for 2 different construction firms, hired numerous contractors, and I work in an appointment based industry. I have never seen a more poorly operated business. Their prices may seem reasonable but their service is deplorable. I advise you to not use this company.

Michelle, the service representative, who did the initial estimate was punctual, affable and very helpful. Their price was very reasonable and the workmen who did the initial part of the installation were on time and friendly. The second stage of the installation has not yet been done. The work is being done in Rockaway Beach and they seem to be doing a good job of trying to anchor the fence by going down 4 feet or so. In some spots there are old pieces of a seawall so they are coming back to drill holes so that the posts can be well anchored. We have had to change the dates for putting up the wire fencing several times and they have been very accomodating about the changes in plans.

The initial sales call was a great experience. Bob Lundy was the most professional representative I've ever met from a home service company/contractor. He was polite, punctual, and knew his subject material. We happily selected them for the work. On the day of the install, a Wednesday, the workers showed up an hour later than the end of the window provided (i.e. 3 PM arrival, window was 11 AM - 2 PM). They could not finish installing the gate that day, and had to come back - Saturday was arranged, first appointment of the day. Again they did not come within the time window provided - And when they did, they did not have the self-closing gate hardware required for our job. They offered to add a spring to the hardware they had on hand, but this doesn't look nearly as good as the proper specified hardware. It took a third visit on Sunday to get the job done. Although there was much confusion over timing and the specs of the install, the quality of the work seems very high. Overall we like the end result quite a bit, but there were a few bumps in the road getting to it.

Things went well from the very beginning. My neighbor used the exact same company so I was familiar already with the quality of the fence and the company. Patrick came over on time and was very knowledgeable and gave me some suggestions on what I needed to do and I agreed. The price was reasonable and the day of install went smoothly. The 3 men that installed my fence were very friendly and did what ever I requested with a smile. I had a few large rocks that needed to be cleaned up during the install, and they were nice enough to clean it all up for me. Also the rear of my old fence had a very odd shape, but the new fence installed was designed in a way that was even better than the old fence I replaced and that was because of 2 small details that the formen brought to my attention and I really appreciated the advice. If you need a new fence, I would suggest you hire this company!

We had a $20,000+ fence install done on April 10th. The crew was very efficient and worked from 8am until dark every day. The crew boss was extremely helpful, but communication with the office was poor. Items specifically detailed on the written quote were not known to the installers. They had no idea the front shrub roots were to be dug out (included in the quote & the price estimate), or that the posts along the back fence were quoted with pipes and cement. They also stated they were not aware the front fence line should extend to the point detailed in the quote. The back posts and front fence issues were resolved once we pointed them out and calls were made to the office. The shrub roots were never removed, price was adjusted accordingly. On the final day of the install, we were told the job was completed, they just had to come back to hang the gate a day or two after the post cement had set. We made the final payment - BIG MISTAKE. The single gate which is the main entry point to the yard was not hung correctly. We called the office regarding the issue. Workers from the company returned to our home and tried another gate - it still did not hang correctly, so they took it back. A crew come a third time to hang another gate. This time they basically threw the gate on, rang the bell and left without ever speaking to anyone. Unfortunately that gate was still not correct either. We called again. Don called back and agreed to come look at the gate. The first scheduled appointment he was a no show. He called after 10 pm the next day to say he would be out to look at the gate. Don agreed there was a problem and stated he would need to review the best way to address, if new poles were needed or not. Again a crew came and removed the gate on April 23, telling my husband they would be back the next day with a new gate. Again no show the next day. Or the next. Or the next. No gate, no phone call, no follow up. We called All Island on the 27th, and received a call back that the gate was not scheduled to be installed until the following Monday, April 29th. We were pretty patient up to that point but now felt fully taken advantage of. All Island has been painfully slow to resolve our issue. The job was paid in full, so we were left feeling that there was no incentive to resolve our issue in a timely manner although Don stated that was certainly not the case. Hard to see it any other way from this end. I chose this company based on Angie's List and the rating they carried. 3 weeks and 4 attempts later - and having to chase down the information on when they were coming - gate still does not look 100% right. The gap at the bottom is still bigger than the gap at the top. There is also has a nail sticking out of the gate. The installers were also supposed to replace hardware that was scratched in the multiple install attempts, as confirmed with Don and pointed out to the installers on the 4th attempt to hang the gate. They forgot to bring the new hardware. Didn't replace. Said they would be back with the piece. Never came back. We finally got a follow up call from Don to confirm the gate is up. Yes Don, the gate is hung. Doesn't look 100% but we have lost all patience and don't think All Island knows how to fix it properly. Truly a costly, totally aggravating and disappointing experience. Unfortunately I can not recommend them. To anyone. For anything.

They came when they said, offered a fair price, communicated well, performed competent and quality work, and cleaned up well after.

We were very pleased with the entire experience. Our salesman Rob arrived on time for the appointment, and he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He was not in the least bit pushy and understood exactly what we needed. He told us that the installers would do the work at the end of the month, and that is exactly when they came. My husband was impressed with the amount of time and care that the men put into the job. We are extremely satisfied with the results, and we plan on calling them again next spring for additional work.

We asked for estimates from four different companies, and All Island was prompt in their response and showed real interest in doing the job. From initial contact to completion they were professional and thorough.

I called up for an estimate and they didnt show up on time so i called and they didnt have my information. They called back 10 minutes later and said the sales women will be there shortly. Michelle the sales women came and gave us an estimate, we went with her company because she seemed very nice and price seemed reasonable and she said she was the owner.She said they will come week of april 1, no one called to set up job. I called them and they said 2 more weeks. We said we would cancel so they moved up install date up a week. They installed fence and gate posts. Fence seemed scratched up and they dumped cement in my flower beds which i just paid landscapers for spring clean up before they came. They chipped a little piece of my tile in front of my house. I called and texted michele the sales women but she didnt care enough to call me back. A week later they came back to install two gates but i had to call to find out when they were coming. When they came i told them to take the cement out of my flower beds. The guy who came pretended to be the owner. I told him to tell me the truth because everyone is claiming to be the owner. I didnt kmow who the right person to complain to cause no one seemed to take responsibility. He then admitted he wasnt owner. Whats the big secret, nobody wants to take responibility. Then i called michelle and she said she will call me back and never did. Then i called office and spoke to peggy, she sent someone to speak to us and fix the issues we were having. he was a nice guy and fixed mostly everything. He said they would be back to fix tile. They never came back and never called. the worstt experience i have ever had. I thought because it was angie list, i could trust this company. I got no response but im sure they will respond quickly to this one. I dont want to hurt anyones company but i have to be truthful.

They are reasonable. They are prompt and professional.

We had a wonderful experience with this company from start to finish. Before hiring this company we got several estimates from other fence companies. All Island was very competitive with their prices and our sales person Michelle Davis was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable with our decisions. She went over every detail with us from the composition of the fencing materials to the installation process and beyond. She made us feel confident in our decisions and was a pleasure to work with. We were given a date to start service and although we had a blizzard on our scheduled week, they quickly rescheduled and installed the fence the following week. Alex and his crew of workers were very personable, courteous, responsible and highly professional. They worked neatly and cleaned up after themselves each day. We love our new fence. The quality and workmanship was well worth the price. We were very happy with these services and would definitely use this company again in the future. Thanks Don!

.They are very good. I will use them to finish the back yard in the summer. He came over showed me the fence.He knowledgeably came over showed me the pieces. We walked around and the he showed me what was going around as the guy who had done the fence earlier had not done a good job. I have a couple of concerns that haven't been taken care of but we can work around it.

They did a good job and did what they said they were going to do. We haven't had any problems so far and it seems to be stable.

Made the initial call, set up an appointment. They sent a very nice man by the name of Bob Gundy (Very genuine, very nice, and very responsive). In actuality... He is the reason I went with this company. IN any case, we agreed upon the type of fence, railing... he went through it all.. and we initiated the contract, put down a deposit and scheduled a tentative date. A week later, I received a call from the foreman asking for a confirmed date. I scheduled the following saturday. On saturday, they arrived a little late, but Bob told me to expect it. They were within reason... about 1 hour.... There was aproblem with the gate that they were putting up, but they told me they would come the next day and supply a new one (Which they did). The gate and the railing look great! I am quite happy There is an additional issue that I hadnt noticed when they put in the rail... a defect or some damage of sorts. I made a call to bob, and he created a work order for them to come out and fix it. I am waiting for completion of this as it was recent. In any case, I think the experience was pretty good....

Bob Lundy their salesman was extremely professional he answered all my questions.the price of the fence was very reasonable.The crew was on time and did a excellent job,plus the crew did a great job cleaning up. GREAT JOB ALL ISLAND FENCE..

Rob came for estimate. He was thorough and easy to talk to. We got about 5 other estimates. All Island was good on price and we liked Rob. He came again to get exact measurements. Fence was installed a week later.

After getting estimates from a number of fence companies, the choice was very easy to go with All Island fence. Their salesman, Rob, went over every detail of what we wanted and put together a very detailed and complete estimate for aluminum (estate style) fencing. He was much more thorough when going over exactly what we wanted than any of the other companies we contacted, and he was on time, and followed up exactly when he said he would. When we made our decision to go with them, the process to contract was easy, with just a 1/3rd down. Also, they told us to expect an install date within 7-10 days, which was right on the mark. The owner of the company actually called to schedule the install, which was really nice. When it came to the install, it was done cleanly.... no mess of cement or any garbage left behind, and when it came to answering our questions, the install crew was pleasant and professional. The install took less time than stated and my fence looks great! I couldn't be happier! and would definitely use them for my next fencing or railing project!

All Island fence was extremely professional. They were clean, pleasant to work with.
