All Island Fence and Railings

This was a bad experience. The salesman who we initially met with, Bob, to discuss installation and the types of fence available was very nice. That was where the good experience ended. The installers who got dropped off at my home barely spoke English, didn't know where the fence was supposed to go, left odds and ends undone and to top it off, they cracked the main drain pipe from my pool while installing a portion of fence near my filter. Noticed your response when I went back to find a new fence company to complete the job I wouldn't let you complete last year. You're right, it wasn't you, it was me. I just couldn't understand your expert crews excellent english and them cracking the main drain to my pool was my fault for not flagging to them that they were digging two feet from my pool filter and there were likely pipes in the area. Hey, at least they were smart enough to cut and run after water started filling my yard so my wife could handle it. Thanks for clarifying. Keep up the good work.

PS I never heard back from Bob and when I called the company and asked to speak to a supervisor, they said they'd have that person get back to me. Well then Bob does call and says that he misquoted and couldn't do it for that price given. Not very impressed honestly on how the whole thing was handled. I really don't know how much they intended on charging me for job after that, because I have gotten another reputable company to do the same job for a quote of $3,040, which was only $200 more.

They did a very good job. They were professional and communicated well. I would use them again and recommend to others.

it started very well and ended very well, michelle is a great honest lady that know what she is doing; the issues i had was that they don't communicate after the sales and its very hard to get a sense of when and how they will execute the project. the contractor are are and and the quality is good, i had some issues gap under the fence but they came and fixed right away. the price was not to high and not cheap, i think overall they are doing a very good job and there is high value for the money you spend.

Let me preface my review by saying their sub-contractor was very professional and did a great job. Unfortunately that wasn't the entire experience. After showing the estimator the previously taken down fence that needed to the taken away, the estimator only wrote 20 linear feet on the contract, and we didn't catch it. Called the company and talked to the owner, he said he would not be able to honor a verbal agreement, and would only agree to take the fence away for an additional $120 in fees. The estimator then calls me to tell me, he did not remember seeing the previously taken down fence, which is pretty unbelievable, its literally in the corner of the yard; straight line of sigh from where the fence will be erected. He insisted the best he can do is charge an additional $100 to take all the fence away. The moral of the story is, make sure you read every line of the contract when dealing with this company, because apparently what they say verbally isn't what's they'll uphold. Perhaps verbal agreements aren't legally binding, but a man's word use to mean something.

Salesman Bob Lundy came at the appointed time. He listened closely to my needs and made suggestions, sketched out what needed to be done and wrote up a tentative contract. He gave me his business card and told me not to hesitate contacting him if I had any issues or questions. I also received two more quotes from two top rated fence companies on Angie's List. All Island beat the other quotes and that included posts cemented into the ground which the others where not going to do. The installers, Henry and Carlos, came at their appointed time. Henry went over all the details to make sure the job was done right. He informed me that the job will not be completed that day because they needed time for the cement to cure before they hang the gates. Two days later they came back to hang the gates. Henry and Carlos did a great job and were very respectful and courteous. The company is very professional.

They were horrible. They were just atrocious. They were supposed to do a job and show up on a Saturday morning and they ended up showing up around 4:00 and I actually missed the family party because I had to be there. I wanted to discuss the job and how upset I was with the owner and the owner would never call me back. They installed the fence and I said that I will only give the check to the owner. They threatened to rip out the fence after they installed it unless they got the check. It's a disgraceful company. The owner never called me back even after that. I gave them the check because I didn't like people ripping it up because I have a pool and I couldn't have my pool exposed without having a fence. The owner never called me back. I was very disappointed. They were late. They were rude. There was no contract that I agreed I had to pay right then and there because I only want to give the check to the owner because I wanted to discuss with the owner how disappointed I was and p***** off that I missed the family party because they were late, didn't show up on time and they were aggressive. They threatened they would rip out the fence. It was just ridiculous. I almost called the cops on them. I'd give them an F on everything. They suck.

Salesman promptly arrived at time scheduled for our appt. thoroughly explained the various options and types of fencing available. He also explained the installation process and provided us with a very good competitive price. Gave us a date they could start and when they would finish the job. Kept right to the schedule they provided at time of sale. Crew arrived did excellent, neat work and cleaned everything up before leaving. A real no hassel experience.

They responded to my call and quickly set up est, appt. Michele was very professional and worked with us to achieve what need to get done. Once set up it took a few days to get a response from the people at the company. The workers who came were excellent and did a great job with the install. They did the work in half a day. Then they came back to hang the gate on the cemented in steel posts. All work was does right, all posts cemented in. Cleaned up work area, I would definitely recommend this Fence company and would use again.

From the beginning it went smooth. Michelle met with us and went over everything and answered all our questions. It went extremely well. The guys came on time and did excellent work. They made sure we were happy with the job and came back to make sure everything was done correctly.

I wanted a vinyl fence installed to replace a neighbor's wood stockade fence that fell apart. Called All Island and after discussion we made an appointment for a salesman to stop by. I found the price very reasonable by comparison and was impressed with the quality of their product. The sections have metal inserts to keep them from sagging over time. The installation crew arrived 3 June 2015 shortly before 4 pm and went to work. They were done around 5:30 a left a few minutes after. They cleaned up whatever debris there was. They cut rectangular holes in an existing vinyl post to connect with the new pieces. The fence is level and plumb; I saw the man check it with a level and make adjustments as he went. They put concrete around the base of the posts deep enough that they could cover the concrete with dirt after installation. Great job!

Perfect service from the office to the sales person to the installers. Everyone was efficient and professional. They did an excellent job!

I had called All Island Fence & Railings about a week ago to schedule a free estimate for 269 feet of stockade fencing and roughly 30 feet of PVC Fencing with 2 gates. They scheduled me for the 10th. They then called me back to switch it to the 11th at 11:00 am since the 10th was Mother's Day. They asked my name about 10 times , my phone number at least 5, and my address another 5 times as well. They assured me they'd be here. At noon today, I called the office because no one had showed up yet. After searching in the computer, they found me and the time was indeed scheduled for 11:00 am, but the they supposedly entered the wrong town in my info. Their response was a steady "Wow. Someone really screwed this up!" Yes. YOU did! They offered to reschedule an estimate. No thanks. If you can't even show up for an estimate, how am I supposed to have confidence that you'll show up for the job? I'll end this review by stating that 2 other fence companies have already been here. We like to get at least three estimates when we are having work done at our home. Both companies measured the area, sat and discussed all options, and both of those companies were scheduled a day or two in advance, arrived on time and were completely professional! We won't be calling All Island Fence in the future.

I called to make an appointment. The day of the appointment no one showed. I called to see when they were coming and they said no one put me in the computer and I needed to rescedule.

Three sides of my back/side yards are fenced by neighbors, but the wood fencing on each side of the house were decaying and/or destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. I also had a wooden railing on my back stoop that was rickety. I contracted for beige gates and fencing on the sides, and a simple white railing on the stoop for about $1500.00 I was quite pleased at the cost, because I'd feared it would run me several thousand dollars (having had no experience with fencing before). They came on time, just 2 guys, and worked for about 4 hours on a miserable, cold day. They removed the old fence and gates, and railing, and took the pieces away for disposal. They dug holes for the new posts, and the 2 posts surrounding each gate had a metal pole installed, and the plastic post was filled with cement. I requested that everything be installed very close to the ground, as I have a small dog who needs to be securely kept within, and they did so. The railing was done by drilling holes into the cement stoop, and again, metal poles were inserted, and each post then filled with cement. As a special request, they drilled an eye bolt into one post for a doggy cable attachment. I was told that the cable could be used after 24 hours. They also had to work around a newly-installed sprinkler system, but I was assured that they were accustomed to doing so; of course, I won't know for sure until next spring when it is turned on again.... But as the new posts were installed approximately in the same area as the old ones, I am not really concerned. Everything went well, and the "estate grounds" appearance has been vastly improved - even the neighbors were impressed. Of course, I had heart palpitations the first time I turned the pupdog (a Cairn terrier - 'Toto' dog for those not familiar with the breed) loose without his cable! But all has gone well, and my dog runs like a young pup again, exploring all those corners of the yard that he was unable to reach before!! All in all, the company did lovely work - had very polite and nice workers, and reasonable prices. Pupdog and I both recommend them highly!!

Well, the install did not go so well. (to say the least) It started when the sales person came out to the house to give me an estimate on the aluminum railings. The railings I decided to have installed are basically a do it yourself kit. The sales person sold me on the professional installation and their warranty, also I did not want to be bothered with core drilling cement to install the support posts. The first problem I had was that I thought this was going to be a "Professional" installation. This was far from the truth. I set the installation appointment from about 2-3 weeks from the day the sales person came. I was told all of there appointments were totally opened. ( I had the work done at the end of the season). I scheduled a morning appointment and was told it would only take 3-4 hours. The day before my appointment they called to confirm and stated they had to switch me to the afternoon appointment. I was fine with it as long as they had enough time to finish the job. ( This was the week of daylight savings time, so it was getting dark early.) My "professional" installers came around 12:30-1:00. They came and looked at what had to be done. (I actually had to explain what needed to be done, in English and my broken spanish). After that they said they were going to eat their lunch before starting. Let me back track, When I signed the contract the sales person said a guy named Joel is the best installer they have and she wrote on the contract that he had to do the work. Well he was not the installer that showed up. One of the first actual problems with the install was that the installers did not level the support posts that were set into concrete. Now when they installed the actual railings they were all wavy. NOTHING was level or square. The second problem dealt with the safety hand rail going down the stairs. My "Professional" installers first attempted to install the handrails only on the cement wall on the staircase. (If they would have done this, when you stood at the top step the handrail would be around your ankles... I explained to them that the handrail had to attach to the railing system so you can actually use it to hold onto while going down the stairs. After that lesson, I thought they were good with the concept. Stupid me, I came back 25 min later and they were measuring out the handrails. They attached one end of one rail at the top of the stairs. The problem with that was it was 23 inches off the ground... I didn't think they were that short, but I certainly am not. I had to explain to them again that this job has a permit out on it and all handrails have to be 36 inches up from the stair. You should not have to bend down to reach the hand rail, Am I Crazy? WHAT A MESS!! Needless to say It was now getting dark, I explained to them EVERYTHING that needed to be fixed and they called their boss. Guess who it was? That's right, Joel. I showed him everything that needed to be fixed and he said he personally would come back and take care of it. When I asked him why he didn't come that day to do the work, he didn't have an excuse. Joel came back 2 days later and attempted to level out the support posts, you know the ones that have been curing in concrete for the last few days. Well guess what? he couldn't fix them. So he ordered all new posts because these needed to be torn out. He said he would come back to finish the job. Another problem i had was that the first two installers were very clumsy with the railings dropping them on the concrete which scratched off the paint. Joel said he would bring touch up paint and after everything was fixed they would touch everything up on their way out. That was fine by me. We set up an appointment for two weeks later and guess who showed back up? That's right my first two installer friends. The same guys who rushed the job in the first place and messed everything up. I made sure they understood everything and stood over them during the installation. Everything went good this time, except when they were finished cleaning up and wanted to settle the bill I asked about the touch up paint to fix the scratches. They said they didn't have any and left. After speaking to Joel someone came over and touched up the paint when I wasn't home. I finally received a phone call from the Manager named Don because they actually wanted to get paid for this mess. We worked it out and they gave me $150 off and were supposed to give me a can of touch up paint to fix some of the spots they missed. Unfortunately, I have never received the paint. This company seams very shady or just incompetent, either or, neither are good. I would never use this company again. They only let you pay 1/3 of the bill on a credit card. the other 2/3 cash at the end. If you want to pay all of your balance on a credit card they charge you 3 or 4 % EXTRA. Just writing this review makes me made. PLEASE USE ANOTHER COMPANY AND SAVE YOURSELF A TON OF HASSLE.

Showed up on time and finished early. Fence looks amazing. I am very pleased the out come of this job and would recommend this company. Installers worked very hard. A+ in my book.

Everything went well with this contractor. The estimator arrived on time and negotiated a fair price for the job on the spot. A second installer came by a few days later to take final measurements and also took a few pictures of the job. On installation day the 2 guys came on time and completed the installation in about 4 hours. They cleaned up nicely after themselves. The railings look great and so far we are very happy with the result!

I am delighted with my new PVC fence. From start to finish everyone at All Island Fence and Railing was very professional. The salesman who came to my home took his time explaining my many options, showed me samples and helped me select the fence best for my needs. The installers arrived at my home at the scheduled time, installed the fence in just one day and completely cleaned up my property before they left. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new fence.

Salesman came out to give an estimate and went over in detail. The price was very competitive for what we needed done. The crew came and I went over everything with the head of the crew. He realized they needed some more material and an extra man to help and within the hour he was there. I liked that he asked me several times throughout the day how everything looked and if I had any questions. They were very accommodating when I realized that there was a big enough gap between the new gates and the ground that the dog can get out that they came out the following day to remedy it. Overall great experience.

They got the job done beautifully, by being efficient, professional, tidy, and on time. We couldn't be more happier with their work.

High quality fencing, installers worked hard and did a fantastic job. Upgraded the gate latch to the keyed entry option for both gates which was the best decision I could have made regarding this fence. Scheduling dept was difficult to get in touch with after I had already made my deposit and there was also a discrepancy with what the salesman told me my options were regarding gate selection and what the main office told me my options were. Salesman told me I could select any style gate with no additional charge which was not true. The gate I ended up settling on due to this discrepancy wound up much nicer than the one I had originally selected which I was told would cost me more money. In addition the day the job was completed and I went to pay with the same credit card I used for the down payment I was told there was a % fee for using a card. This was settled with the office as well. All in all I'm happy with the product, but I could have done without the few headaches.

I called for an estimate and Patrick came right out. Although I wasn't fencing the entire yard there was some existing fencing that I wanted the new fencing to blend in with. Patrick explained how that could be done. There were slopes on each side of the yard complicating the job but Patrick explained how they could do the fence and gates on the sides and have it look nice. He was nice enough to include basket weave fencing on the sides which would look good from the street for no extra charge. In addition he didn't charge for the small fence that would hide the garbage cans. His estimate was the best by far of the 3 I got and it was actually $1,600 less than the highest I had received! Work was scheduled to begin in about 1 week later. A 3 man team arrived on the scheduled day on time. The lead installer went over all details with me before starting. They worked very hard all day. This was not a very easy job. The demolition was a tough job between the ivy and bushes in the way, to the old fence having cemented posts to be removed, but they got it done pretty quickly. I couldn't believe have how thorough they were with the new fence installation. There were slopes, bends, uneven ground, and blending of fences. I have a small dog so I needed the yard free of any gaps to the outside. They paid attention to all minor details and ensured there would be no openings for my small dog to escape from. I was very impressed with the fence and the quality of installation. It was even better than I thought it could or would be. I was surprised with the amount of cement used during installation which gives me a lot of confidence in the longevity of the fence. They leveled soil along fence bottom and thoroughly cleaned the yard before departing. I just couldn't be more pleased with the fence and the outstanding installation. I wish I had remembered the lead installers name so I could mention it because he was very, very good. I will definitely recommend this company and if I ever need fencing again I will have them do the work.

All Island Fence did an excellent job installing the fence. Though there was a hiccup during the installation, All Island did a fantastic job working with us and our neighbors to ensure that the fence was properly installed and installed according to the survey. All Island gave us a great price for the amount of fence installed. I recommend their services and product.
