DS Electric

We have used DS Electric for several projects this year and are extremely pleased with their work. They are knowledgeable, reliable, and courteous – would highly recommend.

They came out and did some of the work . They really didn't know how to fix the intercom box , so I had to wait for their supervisor to come out ,which he was not available at the time. The guys that came out were polite and professional. My biggest problem was scheduling ,with woman that was answering the phone. Three times I told her schedule me in for the afternoon , so she turns around and sends 2 guys out 9:00am . There were numerous messages at my house saying " ok we had someone cancel so the guys are on their way to your house. Also " the guys are going to have other clients in the afternoon , so we might not have enough time to get to you today" WHAT? If I'm scheduled for the afternoon between 1-2pm , how is it my problem that they had a cancellation?! If I'm already penciled for 1-2 pm. How do I get pushed out of the scheduling for that day? I was very frustrated and ticked off by the 2nd time I had to schedule a supervisor or senior guy to come out to fix the intercom, which was just ridiculous . The woman made up excuses why the could not come out the following day or by the end of the week. There was this one was on baby watch , this one will be across the river ,excuse,excuse....... ugh! I told her never mind and that I didn't want to wait two weeks. Just a Note to the company , try working with the customers' availability , since they are the ones trying to hire you.

Project never got started. Asked for an estimate and received one. Scope of job changed so I spoke with Ron. He says he spoke with the Owner Dave and had some questions before submitting revision. Called back to speak with Ron several times. Never returned the call. Asked for Dave 2 days in a row and no return call. Finally sent Dave an email and he said he would follow up the next day. That was 3 days ago! Never heard back!! I guess they don't need the business. Very unprofessional to say the least!

First, DS came out because driveway flood light replacement bulb did not light. DS "pulled out a pin" and charged almost $150. Then, Generac sent DS to estimate a generator purchase and installation. That was a year ago and we still have not received a written estimate.

Excellent showed up on time the price was right and the work was completed in a day, pass inspection perfect, I would recommend this company to anybody.

It was outstanding. They are extremely pleasant. On a scale of 1-100, they are a 200. I would have them back tomorrow. They are very knowledgeable about electrical codes, very reasonably priced, extremely clean at the job site, on time, and they completely explain every facet of the job.

Garrett, Dave's employee did a great job. He had to run the wiring from the heat tape where it was left coming out of the side of the gutter into my house to my electrical panel, place another breaker into the panel for the tape, and then run the wire up through my walls and attach it to a switch so that I can turn it on and off from inside my home. This meant sawing a hole in my wall and fishing the wire up thru the insulation in my wall. The switch looks great and professionally done. I also added on to the call by asking Garrett to change out a light fixture on my deck which he graciously accommodated me in doing. I would not hesitate to recommend DS Electric for any electrical work that needs to be done on someone's home.

It went okay. The price was little high. The quality of their service was excellent.

They are an excellent company. They wear their booties when they enter your home. They are very nice and very friendly.

i am very pleased with the Generac automatic backup generator system that DS Electric installed at my house. The crew who did the work were professional and friendly and did their work efficiently and with a minimum of disruption. Dave Stewart owner of the company was a pleasure to work with and his office staff, particularly Debi, was top notch. Her patience in dealing with my town permit process went above and beyond the call of duty. I would recommend DS Electric to anyone needing any electrical work done. I will use them again in the future. Great job, thanks guys.

Worked efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly Laid a gravel base; afterward I noticed that most people have concrete bases, which is what Generac recommends, so they used a short-cut. Hopefully it will remain stable Repeatedly delayed the installation date

DSE tech, Tyler, was very professional, arriving on time, courteous and completing all of our electrical "situations" in a timely fashion. This was our first time hiring an electrician and we will certainly be recommending them to our friends and will be calling DSE for our next round of repairs once the siding is completed. Thank you again, Tyler, for making this a painless experience!!

They were right up front about the minimum of 2 hours charged. The young man sent was very good and completed the job in about 3 hours. He recommended couple of changes to the wiring inside the house that were exactly what I needed. He was finished in about 3 hours. I found that night that there was a problem with only the new light coming on after detecting movement. I called the next day and the tech was there the same day to make a small wiring change. Very professional and the finished product looked it.

I have had the great pleasure to use DS Electric several times both in my house and for electrical work in my church. On every occasion I have found DS Electric to be the most professional electrical contractor I have ever used. Their engineers and technical staff have always demonstrated expertise in all aspects of their industry and have always given a feeling of comfort knowing their work was done in the most professional manner. Also, I was impressed with their punctuality and very fair costs. It is a great feeling to know the job was done right.

DS Electric promptly answered our call and were out to our home within an hour. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant and asked appropriate questions to have our issue attended to in an timely fashion. The owner was our service man and was professional and informative during his work to keep us in the loop. The next day, another service man returned to finish an outage in a couple of rooms that coincided with the circuit. He was also professional and kept us informed of his progress. Recommendations were made that we need to address in the near future and we will be calling DS Electric to resolve those issues. We were very happy with the pricing for an emergency call and regular hour work. The company is dependable, professional, and prompt.

Tyler was punctual, efficient, very friendly, explained as he went, and got sooooo much done in about 3.5 hours. I am thrilled not only to have the load off of the work being done, but also more than pleased with the end results. Great experience overall!

I was able to make an appointment easily and the worker (Tyler) they sent was punctual, polite and professional. I explained my concern about the wiring in the kitchen and he quickly confirmed that the wires had been cut back too many times and were too short to safely connect our new light. He told me he could open two more holes in the ceiling and pull the slack on the line to get to wire that was not bare and I agreed to let him do it. In the end he was able to join the wires together safely and hang the new light. The larger pendant light for the dining room looks great and was installed in a flash using the relatively new wiring in the ceiling there. Tyler was careful to leave the house as clean as he found it. I thought the price was very reasonable and will keep this business phone number handy for future work.

They were very conscientious and punctual. I would definitely use their services for future jobs.

Dave Stewart was recommended by a friend of mine. I called him, set an appointment and met him at my house. This house is not your typical "new home" It's an 1830's post and beam, brick lined wall structure which I gutted and re framed. Knowing this would be our home for the rest of our lives, my wife and I wanted to be as energy efficient as possible. With regards to electric, that meant dim-able LED lighting, gas cook tops, low energy ceiling fans, etc. This house was/is challenging for anyone, but especially for new electric. There was no electrical plan and we weren't sure where we wanted, switch placement, lighting, fans,as so on. Dave and I discussed all the options, he made recommendations based on my needs, drew up a plan and got started. Along the way I made several changes, which were handled promptly and courteously. Throughout the job, I had several questions. Every one was answered quickly. The entire experience with Dave and his team was fantastic. I think it's important to mention that I am also a contractor and exterior specialist. I pride myself on customer service because I understand that purchasing a home improvement, costing thousands of dollars is only part of the equation. We try to make the entire process easy and comfortable. I know good service when I see it, and Dave exceeded my expectations in every way. I would recommend DS Electric to anyone. In fact they have also recently completed another project for me based solely on my previous experience

I encountered an electrical outage in parts of my home that mystified me. There wasn't any electric in my kitchen, and some living room outlets in oneof my four bedrooms. No breakers were tripped. I called two local electrical contractor businesses to see if I could schedule service. Both busineses sent my call to voicemail. I left a message with my problem and phone number. This was early Friday. No one returned my call. Saturday I decided to call another business and chose DS Electric just because they were near my address. Left a message on voicemail there also.I received a call back shortly that day. I inquired if they could send one of their electricians that day. I was told they could but it would incur weekend rates. I understood because it was spur of the moment. I scheduled an appointment for that Monday. The electrician was prompt and investigated to see what caused the problem. He quickly found a problem with a low reading on one of the breakers. Replaced the breaker but the problem was still there. I had indicated to him that when the problem occurred I heard a loud arching sound outside my bedroom window and thought it might have been a transformer on one of the poles outside. He walked around and noticed that one of the wires coming to the home had shorted to one of the others. He made a call to the electric company and had them write up a work order. The electric company sent two trucks about 3 hours later and replaced the wiring to the home. Even though I received call backs from the other businesses on Sunday, I rejected their offer for business because DS Electric was the only ones to get back to me promptly and that was the big selling point for me. They have a very satisfied customer and will definitely use them if service is needed in the future.

Dave Stewart is very easy to work with. He came to my house to discuss the job, asked pertinent questions that I hadn't thought of, and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. When the work was ready to be done, his very polite crew showed up, and did the work quietly. There were times when they came while I was at work. I would give them specific instructions over the phone, (like where I wanted an outlet or box placed) and when I got home it would be exactly as I had requested. Dave's communication throughout our entire project was excellent. He was very approachable thru emails, and always followed up after his crew was done, to see if I was satisfied. I would definitely hire him back again for future projects, because this last one was so hassle-free.

After moving to Poughkeepsie, we needed an electrician to do some upgrades to our home. A lot of people are new to the neighborhood so a good recommendation was hard to come by. After searching on the internet and meeting various electricians, it was a "no brainer" to pick Dave. After our initial meeting, I felt that Dave would do a great job and I was given a fair price. Dave's crew spent 2 days in our home and couldn't have been more professional. They obtained all the necessary permits, started when they said they would be here, wore booties, cleaned all working areas when done and didn't leave until we were completely satisfied. The work was inspected by the town and there were no problems. Dave is a great guy, easy to talk to and has tons of advice (as are all the guys on his crew). I have used Dave for a few things around the house and will continue to do so. I will be a lifetime client! I would highly recommend Dave Stuart and DS Electric.
