The work was done in a skillful manner and turned out exactly as I wanted it. The service was extremely friendly and polite. Would recommend this company any time.

I wasn't pleased. They said the individual was an arborist. He came and gave me an evaluation. The price he was going to charge for the work was, I thought, pretty high. The service he offered was one and a half times mores than what I had been quoted by anyone else. I wasn't happy with that and I didn't go any further. His service price is way to high and should make it more competitive with the local people.

The owner of the service agreed that the tree needed extensive pruning and described to me all the cuts that he would make, all of which I agreed with. He stressed that as a woman, I would not be able to understand why he made such radical cuts, but my husband (I'm not married) could explain to me that it was ok. I also asked him to take out a tree while he was here. He went into the hospital and so did not come out for job. They did an excellent job taking out tree - fast and neat. However, for my apple tree they only trimmed the top, they shaped it. I made two mistakes with this company, I paid up front and so had no leverage and I didn't check the work order. He didn't write down anything that he told me, but just wrote shape. I feel like I wasted my money and can no longer afford to prune my tree.

I actually thought that the $99 fee was a bit expensive just for the estimate. I think he was her for about 45 minutes. I think he knew what he was talking about. I think they were very good at being responsive.

Expert Tree Service is the most responsive, reliable, and professional service there is in any category. From the initial call to Kathy, then Mr Hughes prompt scheduled appointment, his expertise as an arborist, to the arrival of his son and their VERY skilled and professional crew. They addressed all my concerns, were extremely conscious of my property and other trees, professional, highly skilled, and personable. I had a priority list, and Mr Hughes took that into consideration when deciding which trees needed to be removed, right next to my house! Great, did an excellent job. Explained why the tree died and how it was going to be taken down.

This was a visual inspection. Several important items to correct were found. The tree has long horned beetles I am now treating. it also has holes (from branches cut long ago) that I have now treated and filled. Also cleaned and filled the "Y" branch of the tree where water was remaining. All good advise and room for a follow-up visit for additional testing if needed (that would be at regular prices). I am happy with the service and the recommendations provided.

I had called several tree services and Expert Tree was the only one to return my call. Kathy called me back within 24 hours and arranged for an estimate at a convenient time for us. She and Keith arrived on time. Keith walked the property with my husband and I as we pointed out the work we wanted done. Keith was extremely knowledgeable and could identify all the trees as well as recognize where trees needed to be pruned. He pointed out where trees needed to be reinforced as well as trees that were best left alone. He listened to our concerns and wrote up a complete estimate, including the options we discussed, as soon as we completed the walk around our property. His price was very reasonable for the amount of work we needed done. We agreed on a date for the work and Keith and his crew arrived right on time. Their work was thorough, conformed to the estimate they'd given us, and the crew cleaned up so completely there was not a leaf or twig on the ground. (I actually saw one of the crew picking up twigs and other tree debris by hand as they did a last minute check after their clean up!) After the job was done, Keith walked around our property with us again to make sure the work was done as we had expected. I think it is worth mentioning that at the same time Keith and his crew was here, we were in the middle of having other work done on our house. The owner of the other company was so impressed with the quality of Keith's work that he hired him to do tree work at his house in New Paltz. Both Keith and Kathy, as well as the crew, were professional and friendly. We will continue to use the services of Expert Tree Service in the future and will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs tree trimming or removal done. Our property has woods on three sides, so we look forward to a long and happy relationship with Expert Tree Service.

Keith provided a complete assessment for our large sugar maple in the back of our house in late-2015 (a deal through Angie's list). This spring I contacted him for this work and some additional work as stated above. He provided excellent guidance and a decent price (compared to another vendor). He and Kathy gave me a package with the estimate, their insurance information and references. He carries full insurances. We agreed on a date to perform the service. Keith and his crew showed up on-time on the day of the work. Keith gave instructions and the crew did an outstanding job on all facets of the work order. Amazingly they completed all of the work in one day. They cleaned up very thoroughly and took a lot of care 'protecting' our stone patio, planter box and lighting in the back yard. Most importantly while they were finishing up, Keith walked the project with me and asked me if I needed anything else done or saw something that needed attention. He did find a couple of items that his crew took care of. Definitely Keith cares tremendously about his business and his customers. Will certainly use them in the future.

I highly recommend Expert Tree Svc based on my recent experience. Keith Hughes met with me a week earlier to go over my property, my concerns, and offer advice. All of the trees removed were very close to my house as well as my neighbors. The crew's (including his son's) experience and professional performance all was evident throughout. Cleanup was meticulous. I was very satisfied with the increased safety and increased sunshine. They were very accommodating to my needs during the entire process. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again.

It was a very tight area to work in, just barely enough room to fit the crane in. The job went very smoothly, each man knew his job and performed it flawlessly. The crane operator was Keith himself and he was a master at it. They cleaned up the area and left it spotless. I really appreciated the fact that when I called them on the phone a person answered and had my information at hand. The whole job was painless from start to finish. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Six workers showed up on time and spent the next 8 hours cutting the trees. They knew what they were going and had the right equipment including professional panels they laid down for their trucks to drive on so as not to tear up or put ruts in our lawn. They had a bucket truck and effectively used it so that no other trees, shrubs or other property were damaged. My wife and I were impressed with their professionalism and skill. The crew did everything they said they would and more. When they were done the property looked like it did before they came but without the trees. It was hard to tell that they had been there.

After a storm the week before, on my mother in-laws property, we had contacted another tree service. They had come out the next day to look at the trees and said they would call the next day to give us an estimate. After a week and several phone calls, we still had not heard from the other service. On Saturday the 27th about 9am, I called Expert tree service. I spoke to a woman, who turned out to be the owners wife, and she said she would call owner and call back with information on when he could come to the property. After about a half hour, she called back just to say she hadn't been able to reach the owner, but she wanted to let us know she hadn't forgotten about us. At about 10:30 am, the owner called us directly and said he could meet us at the property in 15 minutes to survey the damage. My wife and I got to my mother in-laws property right after the owner got there. We spoke to Keith and then he proceeded to survey the damage. After taking a look at the trees, we went inside and he let us know what he would do, gave us a time frame in which he would do it and gave us a written estimate. I called the insurance adjuster right then and all was settled as far as the estimate and we signed the paper work to get things rolling. Keith said he woukd be there on Monday and remove the part of the trees that were on the house and would return Thrusday and finish the job, Keith was better than his word. He showed up on Monday and was able to remove all the trees and completely remove all debris and make the yard look as it was. My mother in-law was ecstatic about how quickly and efficiently the work was done. Keith was better than his word, He came out on a Saturday to get things rolling and was finished by Monday. Totally satisfied with Keith and his workers, who were pleasant and diligent in their work. Would recommend Expert Tree Service to anyone.

Keith Sr., Kathy, and Keith Jr. and his crew were all sterling professionals from start to finish, i.e. the estimate and consultation, the days on the job, the follow up phone calls, to the meticulous clean-up. They carefully listened, all of the guys were professional, courteous with solid good manners (!), and the thoughtful job detail is unmatched in my experience. This is a multi-generation family owned, local business, that has provided my family with an unprecedented and outstanding job. BRAVO!!

This was the third estimate for taking down four trees in my yard by a company rated A on Angie's List. The owner came over and gave me a verbal $3900 estimate and wrote down $4200. I let him know that this estimate far exceeded the other estimates ($1800 verbal and $2500 verbal--both of these written estimates were increased when provided in writing, but no where close to Expert). He proceeded to make what I saw as racists remarks about the Mexicans working for one of the other tree services and raised questions about its insurance coverage and went on to disparage the low bidder's status as an arborist and about the fancy car he drives. He told me in an aggressive and impolite way that if I could get the job done for $2500 I should. He, additionally, refused to give me the senior discount listed in his Angie's List ad and/or honor the Angie's List new customer coupon also in his ad/review. I did not notice the discrepancy between his verbal and written estimates until later, but I would not have used him in any event. He provided some letters of recommendation and copies of insurance coverage dated last summer. The local insurer tends to provide proof of coverage after hiring, so the copy may or my not have indicated current coverage. This man did not examine any of my trees. I recommend that others be sure to check the dates on insurance documents, be sure that there is coverage for the contractor's crew in the event of an accident, be sure to clarify the location of any pipes or anything else that could be damaged in writing and the property lines in writing too. Only a single arborist had matching written and verbal estimates of the five I met with.

as said, he was professional, personable, and punctual. after getting other estimates, we would have hired him but his was the highest bid. thanks for coming and your time, keith

His crew came well prepared for the job and were meticulous with the work. Everything I asked them to do they did with precision. They had to climb both trees because their bucket truck wouldn't fit into my backyard. The cutter was able to cut the large branches and direct them away from a bush that was just beneath the tree we wanted to save. The other workers cleaned up the yard and chipped the large branches for me to keep. The black birch was cut into 16 inch pieces and then they helped me move each piece so I could split the wood with my wood splitter. The workers were all very kind and conscientious. I was very satisfied with the job done and will use them in the future if need be.

Very impressed by the expertise and everything about our experience with this company.They were punctual and the fellas were gentlemen, nice, and knew what they were doing. They did a wonderful job. Trees were close to electric wires so their expertise was important. They also cleaned up the area and left it in tip-top shape.. Great company in every way. I would definitely recommend them. We were very satisfied with their work. They were very prompt in their service. We called and agreed on the price and quote. They came about a week later and completed it in one full day.

Arrived promptly to give us the estimate (within hours after my call). Did the job as promised and were done in a matter of about two hours. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys and plan to have them back again to do more work.
