+ -1 moreI have used Mr. Mayone several times before. Each time his work is thorough, neat and done on time. You pay for what you get. One also can learn because he will answer all your questions.
Description of Work: Damage was done by someone in the past who did some cutting and pasting in the main panel such that it was seriously out of code. Mr. Mayone responded even though he has been very busy with large projects.

Description of Work: He repaired two wall switches that were overheating. He came on a Sunday and did not charge an extra fee. He had all the necessary parts and worked neatly and efficiently. He did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend him.

Description of Work: He installed a full home generator system in my parents house along with all wiring. He always showed up on time when he was supposed to and the cost of the services were true to his estimate.

+ -1 moreIt was really scary to be honest. Al took pictures of the things he found and there were ALOT of them. We had outlets hidden behind false walls (huge fire risk) and a mix of metal/plastic boxes. There were junction boxes without tops filled with dust. Al took care having the electrical inspector come out and the inspector said and quot;it was a miracle we did not have a fireand quot;. Al said that of all the houses he's done ours was the worst. It was not one thing in particular just the variety and volume of different issues. With all that he still stayed within the original estimate! Which was fantastic! After everything that Al did the house feels so much safer. The new electric box is fantastic - and we feel so much better about having our children in the house! Al's fantastic. Very calm and dependable and he really knows his stuff and is willing to dig into the worst of it. He's very conscientious and recognizes how dangerous bad electric work can be. He was originally planning to do our house Monday through Thursday but because of all the issues he wasn't done on Thursday. So he moved his Friday job to the following week and came back to our house on Friday. I told him he could come back next week instead and he said, and quot;I couldn't sleep at night until this job is done - since you have babies in the house.and quot; I really appreciated his willingness to finish the job and ensure my family's safety. I couldn't speak any higher of him! Al Mayone - the best of Kingston electricians!
Description of Work: We have lived in our house for 6 years and it's an old house (built in 1890) so the electric system is extremely old. It has quirks like you can't run the microwave & the toaster but we don't mind. Well then we had kids and suddenly the quirks - like how some lights won't work for a couple weeks or that one shoots sparks, became less amusing and more serious. We had 3 electricians come and evaluate the house - one did not want to work on it and told us so (lovely), another was willing to work with our current electric box and basically cut corners. Then Al came over. He was very familiar with old houses and knew exactly what he would find. He told us he would need to replace the box entirely and that we would have holes to fix throughout the house since they would need to drill holes in the drywall to find hidden outlets. He took the time to explain the problems he could see, and even though I'm not familiar with electricity I could understand what he was concerned about. We scheduled a time for the work - he would pull every outlet & light source & check the wiring - he explained those are the weak points in the wires. If necessary he would pull new wires through. He found the whole house was ungrounded (very bad). Of course, before the work started we lost power on the whole 2nd floor. Al came over the next day to find & fix the problem.
