+ 0 moreLou and company exceeded expectations. The work was done professionally, and on schedule. And we're delighted with the results. Note: this review is almost 1 year late! And, though we're a bit embarrassed about that, we can honestly say that we're still delighted with the work even after some very hot and very cold days. We especially appreciated all of the guidance and advice Lou A gave us along the way. It was like having a member of our family in the business. Lou is the real deal.

Description of Work: I was looking to have my driveway which was one year old to be sealed. I tried to research over the web whether this was a smart hing to do or not. I found almost equally for / against which just made things worse. i decided to get an estimate and luckily Lou was the first one at my door. He was prompt and professional and told me flat out, I should not seal my driveway yet. In short, my driveway was new, done well, and since I lived on a hill, the sealant would slick the surface in rain and snow. I am very thankful for Lou's honesty. He easily could of gave me the estimate and earned a few dollars but he did the right thing. He did tell me to evaluate the driveway periodically and in the event I see signs of wear or cracking, then give him a call. Next year, or whenever I have the work done, Lou will be the first and only call I make. Thank you Lou

Description of Work: We needed our driveway widened so I started getting estimates of only highly rated Angie's list people here. |Long story short after getting two other estimates, Lou of N&J Paving had the best price PLUS Lou just seemed like a really nice guy. We decided to go with N&J after I met Lou. He showed up on time and had a nice neat crew. Lou and his crew seem to really know what they are doing. The only glitch we had was our entire sprinkler system started RIGHT under the part of the driveway we needed to widen. Unfortunately Lou had to cut several in ground sprinkler pipes in 1/2..and they would need to be re routed once the driveway was widened. This is NOT N&J's fault about cutting sprinkler pipes, any asphalt company also would have needed to cut and move those in ground sprinkler lines in order to lay asphalt in that area later. Only thing Lou could have done better in my opinion was, label each end of each pipe like which one went to which one?. Once you cut the pipes..and half are on one side, half are on the other you simply can't know which pipe needs to reattach to which pipe later. That said, I got a sprinkler guy who seemed to be able to piece back my in-ground sprinkler system without TOO much trouble.This added another $650 to my driveway job however. That said, even with needing a sprinkler man...thanks to Lou's great low price he was still lower than any other estimate, and again any other Asphalt company would have had to cut our sprinkler pipes too. In the end...the driveway looks very good and solid. I was very happy with N&J and they do a great job. If you want a quality asphalt job at most likely the best price around...call Lou at N&J I'm very satisfied.

+ -1 moreLou arrived on time to give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and experienced and had very good ideas and advice. We had two other estimates that came in around the same price, but we liked Lou's presentation the best and hired him. He and his crew arrived as planned and did the initial part of the job. Lou explained that it was better to lay the gravel first and then wait for a period of time (I think it was a couple weeks) to let it settle, while other companies wanted to come in and do the job in one day. Lou and the crew returned to do the blacktop, and it looks beautiful. It is now about six months since the job and after a very harsh winter, everything still looks perfect. We would highly recommend this company!

+ -1 moreThe owner of the company gave me an estimate within 24 hours. His price was $100 less than a competitive bid, and he seemed very knowledgeable. Came out one day in early spring to reset the Belgian block, came back a couple weeks later to pour asphalt. Job looks good, no problems. Didn't ask for a dime until all work complete. Suggested splitting up the job so that he could pour the asphalt when he already had another, bigger asphalt job in the area (so as to not charge me so much for the asphalt). Very good experience, would recommend to others.
Description of Work: Tree uprooted during storm, roots broke up potion of asphalt driveway and bordering Belgian block.

+ -1 moreWhen I called Lou Annunziata he knew exactly what the problem was. The company is only about a mile from where I live. Since it was a small repair job so close to where he keeps his equipment, he generously offered to do it at no charge as a courtesy upon return from his scheduled work. The workmanship was excellent and I will definitely consider his company if and when I need extensive asphalt repair or seal coating. Thank you Lou!
Description of Work: A large mushroom pushed up through the asphalt driveway creating a six inch diameter dome that looked like a peeled avocado. Lou and Joe Annunziata removed the broken asphalt, extracted the mushroom including the stem and root and filled in and repaired the hole with hot asphalt. The patch is nicely blended with the surrounding asphalt. A professional job, well done.

+ -1 moreThe driveway had settled and was broken up and the adjacent area was undermined. N & J did a complete evaluation, came up with a design solution to eliminate drainage and other issues. I was particularly impressed because they were on time, with the minimum of interference with access to the house. In addition, because of the design suggestions they made, the driveway sets off the house and functions much better. For example the border was lowered at the walkway which reduces tripping hazard. We have gotten quite a few compliments on how good the driveway looks. I highly recommend Joe and Lou for their knowledge, advice and most of for how good a job they did.
Description of Work: Repaved driveway with cobblestone border and apron. This job included removing old surface and levelling including grass area adjacent .

+ -1 moreThe companies co-owner, Lou Annunziata, was a pleasure to work with. He's very personable and customer friendly. He visited the worksite 3 times before laying down the asphalt. He explained the entire process and encouraged me to ask questions. He provided the location of other worksites and encouraged me to visit these sites to view his work. He installed the asphalt driveway on the scheduled date and returned to the work site 2x since then to ensure I was satisfied with the work. Lou and his crew did a great job on the cleanup, with no debris left behind. I would recommend this company to others without any reservations.
Description of Work: The company replaced my existing asphalt driveway with new asphalt. The driveway was also widened by four feet.
