TotalTech Repair

TotalTech had my computer for a full week before giving me an estimate even though I was initially told I'd receive an estimate in three or four days. When I dropped the computer off, I was asked how I heard about the business and I told them that I found out on Angie's List. The employee remarked about how Home Advisors won't let them charge for repair estimates, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it. What's worse is that they weren't truthful about the delay. When I called on the morning of day four, I was told that the computer had been opened and they were looking into it but I still didn't get an estimate for another three days. I decided not to get the repair done and it took another 24 hours before they closed up the laptop so I could pick it up. I didn't realize it then, but they had screwed the cover on too tightly in one place and it was cracked around one of the screws. Although I ended up tossing the laptop, I still thought it was very unprofessional that they didn't even bring the damage they caused to my attention. Another immediate family member brought a laptop to TotalTech recently and (after advising them that she was an Angie's List referral) was also told that she'd receive an estimate in three to four days. Not surprisingly, when she called at the end of day four she was told that the computer was opened and was being worked on but still didn't receive an estimate until day six.

I scheduled in home service and everything went very smoothly. Ali expertly downloaded all the data from my old computer, set up my new computer and uploaded the data and created a backup for me. He also got my printer and fax working and upgraded some programs for me. I couldn’t be happier and I highly recommend him for both home and office situations. He clearly knows computers and offers many other related services.
