I utilized this electrician to install a new double oven. The two people they sent to complete the install misrepresented their arrival and departure times by about a half hour (apparently they call in their times to the main office at the time of arrival and departure), which of course, at $195/hour, added up. They didn't know how to actually install the oven and couldn't comprehend the instructions (in the owner's manual) and so, I had to Google some youtube video for them to watch, which they did over and over again for a total of about a half hour (again at $195/hour). They finally completed the install, which in the end was satisfactory. However, a few days later I received a bill for $390 based on a 2-hour install time, which should have been based on just over an hour. When I called to request that they adjust the bill based on the actual arrival and departure times as well as the half hour that was spent watching the google video on how to install an oven, I was told by "Chris" that watching videos on how to install appliances is sometimes necessary, even at $195/hour on my dime. This did not seem reasonable. I would personally not use this company again or recommend them to anyone. If anyone decides to use them, I suggest they clock in the arrival and departure times and have the electrician acknowledge the time in writing. I would also make sure that Google is available for some on-the-job training and be prepared to pay for the time spent while they educate themselves. Chris also advised that customers are charged for an additional hour if the electricians go over an hour by even a few minutes. Apparently it's always rounded up to the next hour, another $195 in their pocket. Finally, I will add that "Chris" was very arrogant on the phone and difficult to speak with. It was very evident to me that he had made up his mind well before getting on the phone with me and stated that he couldn't care less if I write a negative review on Google. I've used them before and always paid in full and timely. This did not seem to matter to Chris and the extra $100 was apparently worth it to him, even at the expense of losing my business.

I would like to clear up some things based upon the review. The double wall oven is normally installed by a kitchen or appliance installer, as we are electricians we wire the units. There are dozens of manufacturers of wall ovens and each has their own installation manual and directions. The client had a video ready upon our arrival to watch to try and speed things up. It is an 8 minute video [Link Removed]. As electricians and [Member Information Removed] appliance installers it would be necessary to review what is needed to install the wall oven if the customer would like us to install. As the client stated it still came out satisfactory. After the 1st hour, we bill by the half hour and don"t round up to the next hour. This is standard in our industry. As for the conversation, Chris spoke with [Member Name Removed] husband and [Member Information Removed] [Member Name Removed]. He did offer her husband to reduce the labor by a half hour and the husband declined?

I thought he was a nice guy, but he and his workers were nasty, and irritable. He cut my TV line and the clothing line my father made as a carpenter before he died, and claimed no responsibility. He left grounds in my yard that he did not tell me about, and I tripped over one of them. I called him about the grounds he left, and he laughed and yelled at me that he's doing me a favor yet he didn't even finish the job!

Homeowner is a Hoarder for whom was kicked out of house by town/county due to inhabitability. We had performed a favor for her to get power restored by working in deplorable conditions utilizing special HEPA breathing apparatuses that we were required to purchase as no other electrician would perform work in the home. Homeowner had full head to toe Haz-Mat teams days before, during and after us trying to clean the mess, we take no responsibility to any damage that "may have" occurred almost 2 months after we performed the 6 hour job on 2/13/2017. Our job also had nothing at all to do with home automation as it was a service upgrade due to PSEG being required to shut power to home for safety issues, Job was 100% completed otherwise power would never have been restored by PSEG which it is. Price was exactly $2874. not $6000. as she has stated!

We lost power in the middle of the night and woke up to a very cold house. Odd thing was only half the house was out (of course, that half covered Heat, Fridge, A/X Heat Pump...). Called Guidici, they're local. They had a crew here within 2 hours and we they found the issue almost immediately. Very professional crew, we now have an electrician!!

Short version: The Giudici crew arrived on-time. The work was completed and the work area was left clean. Long version: After a timely arrival, work began on replacement of the exterior lighting fixtures, which was completed in a short time. Then, the roof heating coil (which prevents ice dam's from forming on a particularly troublesome part of my roof), was replaced, also in a short period of time. The work then began on moving the exterior electrical box for our outdoor Jacuzzi (to bring it up to code). The wiring was re-routed through the basement ceiling, then out an exterior wall. Next, the wiring for the up-light for the flagpole was run from an existing exterior light post. I now have 3 lights illuminating my 25' flagpole. In all, the work took approximately 6 hours. In conclusion, I would like to add that I have used Giudici electric for approximately 15 years. They have an excellent work ethic, extraordinary skills, they're reliable, listen to my needs, help with design, and stand behind all work completed. No, they are not the 'cheapest' electricians on Long Island. But their workmanship is of the highest quality.

The guys had been to my house twice, and after changing lots of things which didn't fix the problem, they identified the line was bad. I had no problem with them nor their work, but the root cause problem still existed. I called and spoke with Chris to discuss the issue. He was also the guy who gave me the estimate to refeed. My beef is that I wanted the first visit credited, or at least a portion, toward the job of actually fixing the problem. He refused claiming that and quot;we didn't cause the problemand quot; and and quot;time is how they make their moneyand quot;. The first point is obvious, but all of their time spent changing things which didn't identify nor fix the problem, were ultimately unnecessary to solving it. While changing out the tape splice, a new switch, a new breaker and a new weatherproof box were all and quot;improvementsand quot; to what was there, they were not the source of the problem. Pardon the pun, but rather than poking around in the dark changing things and quot;just becauseand quot; and charging me all the time, I think it would have been much fairer to credit me for that time and cost toward the actual fix. Since he wouldn't yield, I said thanks but no thanks, paid the invoices for their work and got somebody else to actually fix the problem. These guys don't see the big picture. I'm about to sell this house and move to another house. I don't want to spend unnecessary dollars on the house I'm leaving. I want to spend it on my new house. So instead of accommodating me, he only gets his and quot;timeand quot; paid, but doesn't get the bigger job and won't get anything on my new house!
Description of Work: I had the breaker to my detached garage start tripping on me a few weeks ago. They came the first time to try and identify the problem. They tested the incoming line, changed out a tape splice and a light switch but he said he didn't find the exact cause of the short. The breaker held by the time he left. It tripped again that night. I called them back and they came a week later (my schedule). Again, they tried to find the source of the short but initially couldn't. So they changed the breaker in the main panel and put a new box behind a flood light. After about an hour, they started testing the incoming line (again?) and found the voltage to be intermittent. At this point, they said the line was either bad or going bad. We would need to have it refed. They gave me a subsequent estimate for that and at that point I went with someone else to do the work.

First, for the estimater they arrived exactly on time. Very knowledgeable. Received emailed estimate the next business day. The day of the work, they arrived with 5 minutes of the appointment. They replaced 4 hihats damaged where a tree fell on our home from storm Sandy - approx 1/3 of the cost of the job. New hihats with existing wires, placement looks perfect. Work was clean, just a litte insulation dust as the ceiling has not been sheet rocked yet. We have a Gentran box in our basement. Before we had to drag a 50 foot heavy cable from the box out the garage door to the generator. We would get exhuast fumes in through the garage door that would not close with the cable in it. They installed an inlet in the garage and wired that to the Gentran box, they also added a circuit and changed a circuit for the Gentran box and supplied the a new cord for use between the inlet and the generator (the old was not configured correctly and not reusable). They started the generator and fully tested their work. The next night we had 60 mph winds and the power was off in the morning, it now took about a minute to start the generator, run the cable to the inlet and flip the swithches on the Gentran. We hat lights in our den, kitchen, freezer, refrigerator and heat.

I had a bad circuit leading to my kitchen microwave, as well as intermittent outages on other circuits. They were able to trace the problems to a bad ground to my water supply system, as well as a bad circuit breaker and an under-sized line to my microwave. Both issues were repaired quickly. The guys were very professional, found the issues quickly and repaired them quickly. They cleaned up after their work was completed as well. I do not know the bill as yet, it will be sent out from their office. I will update the cost when I receive it. They are also going to quote me on a hook-up for my new generator. I have used them in the past as well, and highly recommend them.

OMG! My husband smelled something burning in our room while we were sleeping. He was up all night but couldn't find the source. Having had a LOT of electrical work done in our house (thank you Guidicci!), we got paranoid. I called Glenn and he was over within the hour. After checking EVERYTHING...he found our ceiling fan motor burning out!! The motor was disconnected and I went shopping for a new fan (always hated that one!). A few days later, my fan was installed. While I had them here, I had my son's fan changed since it was broken. Thank God because it was an accident waiting to happen (kind of knew this from the quality work of the previous owners). This is the first contractor who has actually done exactly what he said they would do and beyond. The workers are professional and clean. I absolutely recommend them for any electrical work and this is a first after being screwed by so many contractors in the past. 2 for 2!!! Thanks!!!

DO NOT CONTRACT THIS COMPANY. They advertise a 5% discount for seniors on their website, but when I proved they did not stay the full 3 hours they billed me for, I was told, "I gave you a courtesy of 5%, now, since I will take a half hour (HAH!) off your bill, you wont save a thing because I'm taking that courtesty back. You won't save a thing." The men who were sent could not find the "source" of the driveway lighting electrics, so instead dug up my fixtures, used "line finders", told me I had "too complicated wiring", then ultimately "discovered" there was a direct lighting application to my 4 driveway lights in the garage (which I showed them previously). This direct application needed no new light/wiring digging. Needed NO new wiring. I was still treated rather poorly by the billing folks. I can be contacted at suekiyaki@hotmail.com. The team that was sent to my home were chain smokers, as well. AND I HAVE ASTHMA. Be aware when a team is sent to you unapologetically smoking cigarettes and "warn" you that your "wiring is just too complicated".

We do take all issues seriously. As with any situation there is always two sides. When the job was originally invoiced we were not notified the client was a senior citizen. When she did call after receiving the invoice we did make the 5% seniors discount correction to her invoice. For the lighting outside, we were advised by the member that the lower timer in the closet controlled the driveway lights, which it only controlled half of the lights. The other half of lights was on the other timer that did not work. We replaced timer and traced the wiring, locating the wiring boxes and re-splicing the wiring that was disconnected by others. Everything was working upon our leaving the residence. The client also had us check a water pump that required re-splicing of the wiring in a sprinkler box that controlled a water pump in the basement. The time our technicians spent on the job was from 9:52am- 12:30pm. Our billing is done in half hour increments after the first hour. The total time on the job was 2 hours and 38 minutes. The Labor time was never discounted or changed, as the time billed was accurate. Our company does have a no smoking policy in clients homes and our trucks. The assistant tech that was on this job is the only smoker who works with us. We do not allow smoking in clients homes or near doors. I do apologize if he did smoke outside and upset or aggravated her condition. I do realize that smoke can linger on clothing which is why we try and discourage all smoking. The lead technician on the clients job has worked for us for 25 years and has never smoked cigarettes on any clients jobs since he has worked here. As a company I know that we continuously try to improve and understand our clients. We do stand behind our work and make every attempt to resolve any issues. I can be contacted at 631-423-1321 if there is any follow up by Angie's List members. Sincerely Glenn Giudici
