+ -1 moreI would say it went pretty bad and they lost a customer forever.
Description of Work: I ordered a dishwasher from Best Buy which I thought was a good price. Here is what they do not tell you: The sales person advises that the installer and delivery service will call you to make an appointment to come and that they are flexible with time. You must set aside 2 days, one for delivery and one for installation. Two days later I get a call from their delivery service to advise that they are coming on a Tuesday between 10 and 12. I protested and said that I work and need a better time fram such as early morning or late afternoon. I was advised that I do not get to pick the time frame and that they are not associated with Best Buy and they make the decisions as to how they load the truck. The woman kept talking and was rather rude and apparently has this kind of conversation often. Not being associated with Best Buy is a joke since Best Buy does not give YOU the choice of delivery service. They even collect the money for the delivery service. I cancelled the order. I had been advised that the installation charge would be $129.00 and there is a charge for the kit to install it at another charge of $29.99. So much for the great price on the dishwasher. It makes no sense to get a good buy from Best Buy and then have to take off 2 days from work because you are at the mercy of a delivery service and an installer. Best Buy leads you to believe that you do have choices in time but in fact it is not true. At the point when you pick out an appliance, I iamgine Best Buy believes that you are less likely to argue time frame since you just want the appliance and you are willing to overlook the inconvenience. I am not one of those people. It is amazing that in this day and age and economy, a company like that cannot figure out how to make it more convenient for a customer and not mislead the customer into thinking that they can negotiate a time frame for delivery and installation. On top of that they hire a rude individual who is obviously not trained in dealing with a customer. I willl not shop there again for anything. Way to go Best Buy!

+ -1 moreFast and professional service. He seemed to know how to go about the problem determination efficiently and you can't beat the price. I don't mean to imply that the service will always be free even if it is a simple fix but I would have paid the $29.99 without complaint and still given a good grade.
Description of Work: The laptop computer's sound suddenly stopped working. I checked to make sure it wasn't muted and checked the settings through the control panel to no avail. I took it to Best Buy's Geek Squad and the young man checked the settings for a ten or more minutes and determined where I had inadvertantly changed a setting which caused the problem. He could have charged the $29.99 but he did not and I walked out very happy.

+ -1 moreBEST BUY DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY. IT TOOK OVER TWO WEEKS FOR THEM TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. THEN THEY HAD TO DO THE SAME JOB TWO OR THREE TIMES.
Description of Work: THEY REMOVED SEVERAL VIRUSES AND FIXED COMPUTER AFTER IT CRASHED.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE SUPPOSED TO FIX A PROBLEM WITH OUR COMPUTER, BUT WHEN WE GOT IT BACK, IT WAS WORSE THEN WHEN WE TOOK IT IN. THEY WERE NOT VERY COOPERATIVE AND THEY WERE CONDESCENDING. IT TOOK LONGER THEN THEY SAID TO FIX.
Description of Work: THEY REMOVED A SECONDARY HARD DRIVE AND REPAIRED THE PRIMARY HARD DRIVE.

+ -1 moreI THINK THEY ARE A FINE COMPANY TO GO TO. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEIR WORK. THE COMPUTER WORKS FINE SINCE WE GOT IT BACK. THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP IT FOR A WEEK, BUT IT DID TAKE A LITTLE LONGER.
Description of Work: WE HAD TO HAVE A VIRUS REMOVED FROM OUR COMPUTER THAT CAUSED IT TO LOCK UP.

+ -1 moreAN EXHAUSTIVE DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION WAS CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE MY SOFTWARE PROBLEM. IT WAS DISCOVERED THE ISSUE WAS BEYOND THEIR ABILITY TO REPAIR. EVENTUALLY, I HAD TO CONSULT THE SOFTWARE DESIGNER, AS THE SOFTWARE HAD TO BE SERVICED BY THEM.
Description of Work: THE NEW SOFTWARE INSTALLED WAS NOT FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. A DIAGNOSIS OF THE SOFTWARE WAS MADE TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE COMPUTER WAS INSPECTED FOR POSSIBLE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS.
