Vintage Builders

The first part of the job was a massive renovation of the house we bought. We did almost everything: new flooring, new bathrooms, painting, new crown molding, stairs, painted kitchen cabinets and interior doors. You name it, we did it. We were not living at home and Mike was free to work whenever he liked. First good surprise: he started demolition more than one week ahead of schedule. Every now and then my wife and I came up with new ideas, additions, modifications. Mike followed us in everything and most important, helped to stop some of our craziness, always providing good advises. He discovered a major issue with the roof that went unnoticed at time of inspection and this saved us from a lot troubles. During the renovation we had to deal with some problem that were out of his control ans his scope of work: one day the well pump died, another one the heating stopped working and Mike immediately contacted his network of professionals to solve the issues. Every time we stopped at the house there was always a good atmosphere and everyone had very positive attitude. They installed all the new appliances and when finished he left the house spot clean. Months later we hired Mike for a second job: to finish the basement. The only difference was that this time we were living at the home, but the experience and the result was the same, and he finished the job in time to let our son have his New Year party, as he had been hoping for weeks. The third time we hired Mike was for a complete remaking of the back patio and front driveway. The patio was made of bricks and trust me, due to the choice of the bricks we made, he had to be extremely precise and accurate. The front driveway is a mix of bricks and blue-stone and, once again, he helped a lot with patience and smart advises. Mike worked together with Joe and Joe from Personal Touch Flooring and they all were terrific.

The owner of Personal Touch Flooring in Poughkeepsie had worked with Mike Stellini, owner of Vintage Builders, on a large home project and recommended him highly. My husband and I received quotes from three builders. We chose Mike partly because his was the lowest bid but mostly because of the high recommendations from both Joe at Personal Touch Flooring and from Jennifer Lucas, our architect. We were also impressed by Mike's warm manner and professionalism. We chose well. Mike and his team were very professional and very easy to work with. I heard the phrase, "We just want you to be happy" many times as I requested changes mid project and both Mike and his right hand man, Caesar, really meant it. They did many extra things, both large and small, for which they did not charge us even though they were not included in the original quote. We hired our own flooring, roofing, painting and heating contractors and Mike hired all the rest. We were very pleased with Mike's subcontractors, all of whom he had worked with for years. We made the choice to hole up in one tiny office, our bedroom and our bathroom during the three months of construction which was challenging for both my husband and I as well as Mike and his people as they had to work around us and our stuff, but we all managed to survive with our sense of humor intact. Part of that was a result of Mike's insistence that his team, including his son Joey, leave the premises tidy each day. We have worked with contractors in the past, including a large addition to our previous home, and so entered into this project with some trepidation. We need not have worried. Any issues that did arise, as they will with any project, were promptly and satisfactorily dealt with by Mike. We could not be happier with the end product: a beautiful, light filled addition and a newly remodeled home. I give Mike an A+ on all of the ratings above. I would definitely hire Mike again and highly recommend his services.
