It didn't. They never responded to request for quote...….Actually, I submitted 6 requests recently and only ad 2 reponses…..one of them panned out, the other was another disaster! Think I may have to stop using Angie's List.....not as reliable as it once was!

After rescheduling an initial visit twice, Eric and his wife (who assists him with the business end) showed up at our house and we discussed the work we wanted an estimate for. They were very nice and seemed competent. They said they would get back to us with an estimate in about a week. It has been almost 2 months and we never received an estimate despite my husband inquiring about it several times. We must assume that they were not interested in the job and were not professional enough to say so and perhaps recommend someone else. Rating is due to poor reliability and lack of promised followup. Their work may be good but we will never know and are pursuing alternatives.

The weather was a problem as several of our "to do" items involved painting and this was a year in which painting outdoors was challenging. Still, he was diligent and when the weather and forecast were right, he was on it. We are very pleased with his work. We actually hired him to do more work this summer already and have started compiling other things that need to be done.

Made an appointment for them to come and give me an estimate on Saturday morning between 9 am & 10 am. In order for me to do this, I HAD TO TAKE OFF FROM WORK THAT DAY AND LOOSE PAY. He never showed for the appointment. I called them at 10:20 and still never heard back. At about 11 am, I checked their website and called the emergency number they had listed, left a message and again, never heard back. I cost me Money to be home waiting for them - for them never to show up and never to get back to me shows a total disregard for their customers, opps sorry - i menat potential customers.

I hired A Plus Handyman last summer to replace a through the wall air conditioner in our second floor bedroom with a new unit which fit into the same sleeve as the old one. He showed up promptly and was able to complete the job quickly and they cleaned up thoroughly after the work was completed.

While he did get the job done, his quality of work soon dwindled upon some of his work just falling apart after 2 weeks. There is some unprofessionalism and aggressive behavior from this guy too- Single women beware, I detect some unsolicited advances and unwanted behavior from him.

Eric and Micky showed up as scheduled and did a fantastic job! They were a pleasure to have working in my home. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!!

I was totally satisfied with their work. I intend to hire them again.

It was a delight to do business with A Plus Handyman Services of Hopewell Junction. They were punctual, professional and the work was performed to our best expectations. They did the job in a timely manner and the price was well worth it. Will definitely call upon them for future work.

Eric does excellent work, cares about getting it done right. Discussed his plans for executing the job and how things would look. I hit him with a couple of changes, we discussed them and he made the necessary adjustments. The job was done on budget, but a bit late. I told him to get it right, rather than to rush it. Very happy with the results. Eric and his partner in crime Micky are lovely people. Gave them the run of the place without even thinking twice about it. Highly recommended !

Great- I was out of town and they were responsive to my predicament- very polite and easy to communicate with. i have used them twice and am always impressed with their honesty and professionalism.

The quality of the work exceed our expectations. Didn't have to labor over explaining the details. They knew what was needed and did it correctly the first time.

I sprung a leak in my roof the previous weekend and called A Plus Handyman to see if they could fit me in because there was a snowstorm in the forecast. They made it a point to get to my house before the storm. Eric went up on the roof in mid-January and not only repaired the leak but also fixed another area where I had tried to do a 'home repair' last Summer. Eric and Micky are both conscientious and professional. I thought the price was reasonable considering the last minute nature of the job and the harshness of the conditions. They will certainly be my go-to team for any future problems with my home.

Very professional team. Prompt, tidy and reasonably priced. (Price did not include window, which we bought separately.) We will definitely use Eric and his team again and heartily recommend A+ to anyone needing work done around their home.

I contacted the provider through Angie's list and we arranged a day and time for an estimate. Shortly after they were due to arrive for the estimate they called to say they would be late because their previous estimate was taking longer than expected. They emailed me an estimate promptly as promised within a week. The original work request was only to replace the rotting wood beneath the door, but other contractors who came to review the problem identified the need to replace the side moulding and install j channel as well. I asked this provider to consider that work as well and they provided a revised estimate, with he job to be completed in one day, which I chose to accept. I sent them the required 50% deposit and we agreed on a day and time for them to come do they work. Shortly after they were scheduled to arrive they called to tell me they would be a little late. They told me that they had not had a chance to get to the dump the day before so they needed to do that before picking up the items they needed to do my project. They also said they had seen some rain (which was not forecast until late afternoon/early evening that day), so depending on the weather they might not be able to come that day at all. In the end, they did not come that day, even though it did not rain where I am until very late in the day so they could have. We then had to agree on another day and time. Unfortunately, on that date it really did rain all day (as it had the day before and the day after), so we had to reschedule again. We agreed on 10/27/14 between 8:30 and 9:30AM. The night before the appointment they emailed me to say they would really arrive between 10:00 and 10:30AM. They called at 10:38 that morning to tell me they were just loading up and would therefore be about 30 minutes late. About an hour and a half later they finally showed up and began to do the work. As they got into the work they found a few other things which they needed to do (some wood above the base was water damaged on each side, and they needed to chisel out the house end of my front landing to get all the way to the wood needing replacement, which they showed me they needed to do). They also said they would install a new doorbell button and new numbers on the door frame at no cost. Given the late start and the extra work identified they were not able to finish the project that same day (they also needed to get some additional items to do the extra work and their supplier was already closed for the day). They said they would go to their supplier first thing the next morning ~7AM and be back the next day to finish around 8:00-8:30AM. At 8:39AM they called to say they were loading up and would be there in about 30 minutes. A little over an hour later they arrived to continue the job. I was very happy with the work they did itself. They completely fixed the problems and what they installed looks good and looks to have been done very well. When they finished the work they gave me the final bill, with a bit of an increase in the price because of the extra work which ended up being needed. The additional cost for the added work was reasonable, and not completely unexpected given the added work they needed to do, so I did not make an issue of it. However, I do wish they would have expressly indicated that there would be an additional cost, and ideally what that cost would be, BEFORE doing that work (which I would have agreed to) rather than just presenting an increased bill at the end. If they had done so, I would have given them an A on price in this review instead of a B. As you can probably tell from this review, my only real problem was the fact that they never arrived in the time window which had been planned AND despite the fact that they called me each time to tell me they would be late those calls both A) did not come until AFTER they were already late and B) underestimated how late they were going to be. That led to my promptness grade of C in this review (which may even be generous), and also lowered the grades I gave them for responsiveness, professionalism and overall to only a B.

Eric was on time and performed work well within estimate. Was neat polite and efficient.

Conscientious, excellent work! Highly recommend this company to anyone looking for good work at a reasonable price. Crew was neat and cleaned up after themselves.

I needed my mailbox poll replaced (plow destroyed it this winter). Provider was scheduled to be here from 9-10am. Actually arrived about 3:30pm. I was kept informed about him being late as an earlier job had taken more time then originally planned. Poll was installed in a concrete base and leveled off. I provided the assembled mailbox.

The ladder was installed in an opening that was left after an attic fan was removed. The ceiling wallboard was cut to accommodate the 54 inch opening for the length of the box. Two joists were cut as well. Then the opening was framed out. After the ladder was in place gaps were fitted with wall board, taped and plastered. Primed colonial trim was used to frame the opening.

First of all, I would love to have Eric and Micky over for dinner! They are such lovely people and such a pleasure to deal with! Right from the start they were on top of everything! Their motto is “work that speaks for itself” and it’s a very fitting depiction of what they do! I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

They were very pleasant to work with. Even my tenants (whose bathroom they were working on) praised them. They discovered rot under the toilet which we were not aware of ahead of time and fixed that. This caused an increase in their fee which we negotiated to something agreeable for all of us. I would definitely hire them again.

Project went well. They responded quickly to give the estimate,e and schedule the work. The work was done on the day scheduled ( the hottest day of the year), Cleaned the job site completely and hauled away the old materials.
