They were very professional and we actually got an estimate to do more work, but we decided to hold off on that for this year. They told us that we actually had more flues than we originally though also.

The workmen came on time. They promised to do the work on the chimney which included pointing the brick, paint the chimney and installing a steel chimney liner. The workmen were to exit the exhaust in the basement from chimney and from the clothes dryer and vent to the outside. I provided the material. I provided the paint, which the worker took. He did not point the chimney, saying it was just cosmetic and did not need to be done. He did not exhaust to the outside as agreed upon. He did not apply the Angie's List discount He left clothing, a hat and drop clothes behind.

I purchased a coupon in the amount of $300 for masonry work from Angie's List. Our stone steps in front of the house needed to be repaired and cracks in the stone around the pool needed sealing. Evan, Mike and Anthony came late, due to Belt Pkwy traffic, but called us to let us know of the delay. They checked out all of our stone work and let us know what could be repaired and the cost. The work was done in a timely manner and we were very satisfied on completion of the job.

The owner of the above chimney service and his employee, Bill ,just left our home. After a series of estimates for work on our chimney, we decided to use Mr. McCarthy's company. We couldn't be happier with the outcome! They arrived within the time-frame given by the owner's wife, Jeanette, and after an assessment went right to work. The owner, Mr. McCarthy , worked with us regarding pricing, They did a very thorough, neat, and professional job, and they obviously care about how they do a job. They were friendly and courteous. It was a pleasure to be on the receiving end of their work. We recommend this company--the owner and staff inclusive!

I bought an Angie's List deal for a chimney sweep and inspection. The crew was prompt and friendly. Did the chimney sweep and diagnosed an issue with the flue that goes to the gas boiler, which has an older clay liner instead of a modern stainless steel liner. They quoted me about $1500 to replace it and tried the tired tactic of offering an extra $100 off if I agreed to the work right there on the spot. I declined. I got a second quote from a different provider, which was much less ($1070). The other provider actually looked at the boiler when they did their estimate, which included moving the exhaust pipe up two inches and redoing the exhaust to the water heater. Long story short: very satisfied with the chimney sweep, which was a good value. But was not impressed with the quote on a much bigger job for a flue liner replacement.

First they rang the doorbell and were ready to give us a price for the work. The interesting thing is they did not first ring our bell, say hi, and get clear on what we needed. So they started telling us the cost of the work but the problem was the work they were pricing is NOT what we needed AND it was for the wrong chimney (we have 3). Once I corrected them on what we needed done on which chimney, they said it was too big of a job for them and we should hire an old Italian masonry guy to do the work (I thought they did masonry work too...it says that on their website). They were however very interested in wanting to play with my cats, so I guess they aren't that bad, after all they are animal lovers.

went very well, very professional and informative, I was little upset to find that the company I used in 2013 also was supposedly changing and repairing the cement, to find that it was all cracked all over again. They were also on Angie's list, that is why I picked them. I am confident that this will be the last time I have to shell out money to have this cement redone.

We recently purchased our house which was built in the late 1800's and while doing work on it discovered our dinning room had a fireplace that was enclosed in a plaster wall. We were worried that since the fireplace had been enclosed, the previous owners may have neglected proper maintenance of the chimney. I purchased a chimney sweeping package from Certified Chimney Cleaning Service Inc and they came out the same day to do the cleaning. It turned out that the previous owners had never lined or put a cap on the chimney, so it was completely clogged and filled with bricks and debris from years of extensive water damage. We were very lucky we contacted them when we did because our gas furnace wasn't ventilating properly due to the clog, making our house a carbon monoxide disaster waiting to happen. Even though they had just planned on doing a simple cleaning, they made time to stay and do the extensive work that was needed to ensure our safety. They were very nice and did a great job, we will definitely be using them in the future and highly recommend them!

Office kept us well informed on the anticipated arrival time as some calls before ours took longer than expected. Really loved this company. First it started with Jeannette's communicativeness. But the bulk of it was due to Evan's professionalism and almost engineer-like grasp of chimney structural intricacies. And his smooth salesmanship. When he informed me of the corroding terracotta, I didn't believe he was trying to simply make the company more money by suggesting the liner. The way he described it made perfect sense. Plus I had heard about that stainless steel liners are now required for all new constructions. I didn't want to mess around with safety. The Lifetime guarantee of the work also makes one feel at ease. Initially his price point was high compared to other reviews on Angies List. They negotiated with me which was great. He even offered for me to talk directly with the owners if I had any questions. I can tell they really respected the owners (not always the case in any business!) which I think has alot to do with the workers' high morale. Liam and Tommy were top notch too. Very sweet guys. They had to do some jackhammer work as the flue opening was too small for the liner and Liam knocked on my door to let me know it was done and I won't be disturbed anymore, though I never complained about it. Tommy even shoveled my steps! Only thing is they caught me off guard when they came because they didn't call beforehand to let me know they were on their way as Jeannette promised. All in all, probably the best experience I've had with workers on my house so far. Thanks guys!

Went well was very clean. Satisfied so far

I thought that the outside of the chimney was where the repair was needed. However, he told me that it was inside of the chimney that needed repaired and it was a fire hazard. The job took about three hours and the workers seemed to be professional. They were a couple of hours late to the appointment, but they were responsive and called me back. They cleaned up everything they had. I thought he did a good job. He completed part of the work and recommended the other part completed once the weather gets warmer. I was very satisfied with the work they did.

Charlie and his team came early although the roads were still snowy from a blizzard! He pointed out issues with my chimney and gave me a very good price for repair. A true professional, he got the work done quickly and cleanly. It was a pleasure doing business with the team that came to the house and the person who did the scheduling in the office.

They called prior to the appointment to ask to come early, which I missed the call but they were outside and ready to work about 15 minutes early, which I can never complain about. They beat an earlier estimate by another company for the work. They ordered the necessary parts and completed the job the same day. I want even home while the work was being done, but did come home to everything done and no mess left behind. Overall, great service.

Certified Chimney Service Inc. was responsive and came to our home in a timely manner. They were easy to reach on the phone and arrived as scheduled. After inspecting our chimney, they identified certain items that needed to be repaired. While we were originally nervous that the services may not have been necessary, Certified Chimney Service Inc. proved to be an honest and dependable company and spent a good deal of time discussing the necessary work to make sure we were comfortable with the services needed.

He went up on the roof and said that he wanted $1,000.00 cash to do the job right away, plus an additional $2,600.00 to repair the chimney. My superintendent went on the roof after the work was completed, as he was also in need of a new chimney service. He took a look around at everything, and told me that he thought I overpaid. He said that it was very suspect that they asked for cash up front, and when asked what it was for, they had no answer for us. They were very nice and polite, and they talked a good game. I don't have a screen in my chimney, so I still can't even use my fireplace. Unfortunately for them, they lost the business of a building with potentially 45 units. That could have been good business for them.

I just had Certified Chimney Service install a liner and do some repair work on my chimney. Before hiring them, I did some research to fully understand if and why I actually needed the work. I also called the liner manufacturer to get their opinion, and I sent CCS an email with a list of questions. CSS? Jeanette called me back and answered all of them. Their customer service is excellent, and their workers were very friendly and explained everything they were doing. They also gave me a great price. I definitely recommend CCS. It?s unfortunate that I cannot say the same for some of the other chimney companies I used in the past.

The job that was well-priced and well done, I highly recommend this company to anyone who need to get any Chimney related work done. The chimney of my house is well-over 60 years old and was never maintained in its prior years. Older chimneys never had any liners in them, and that way put the inner construct of the chimney at a higher risk of fast aging. Mr. McCarthy (owner of the company, who was also on-site to inspect the job) is a fabulous guy. He showed me what the damage in the chimney was and before doing the job, explained me everything that he would do (step by step) His team (in uniform) is well-orchestrated, soft-spoken and highly professional. They cleaned up all the dust and debris that fell off during this job. The finishing of the job is highly satisfactory. The wall on the bottom of the chimney was re-sealed properly with cement and with the matching color of the basement wall.

I thought it was a lower price, and the guy worked with me. he cleaned the gutters, enough said.

Do not use, they cancelled one appointment and did not show up for rescheduled appointment. My wife called them since they had not shown up and told her she should have called earlier. We're the customer, they should have called us if they were running late and were not going to show. Very unprofessional company- do not use. W
