Luigi Masonry did an excellent job removing and replacing our concrete sidewalk in Corona, Queens, on a busy street. The entire process was fast, seamless, and carried out with great attention to the safety of residents and neighbors. Despite the challenges of working in a high-traffic area, Luigi and his team handled everything with professionalism and care. We’re so glad we chose them—they were detail-oriented, efficient, and truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend their services!

I used Luigi Cotumaccio Masonry Contracting to do concrete and stone construction on the front and sidewalk of my home. He is professional and honest and is a man of his words with a keen eye for perfection and quality work. He made suggestions to our original plans that came out better than we expected. In the future will not hesitate to use his service again and suggest him to others. He has a great team.

Turns out job needed is brick pointing. Unfortunately Luigi does not do brick pointing but was extremely helpful in educating me on the process, as well as providing me with a potential contractor to assist. Luigi and his team did an incredible job replacing my front steps and all the concrete/masonry around the front of my home. It was easy to communicate with Luigi in order to figure out exactly what we wanted, and the execution of everything was flawless. I highly recommend Luigi for any brick masonry you'd need done on your home.

I refer to Luigi as the Michelangelo of cement, directing a team of very experienced and skillful employees whose sole business is cement and whose work is of such high quality that passersby comment approvingly and ask for business cards. Think about that: who gets compliments on their nice, new cement? On every level I found Luigi himself a pleasure to do business with. He is candid, honest, dependable, very knowledgeable about his craft, and an excellent communicator. His crew works one jobsite at a time so he can supervise them closely and protect pedestrians from potential hazards. As with all home improvements, it is best to be specific, clear, and detailed to avoid misunderstandings; contractors are not mind readers. A good test of their quality and integrity is how they handle the unexpected hiccups that do occur; in that regard, Luigi is among the best I have ever dealt with.

Luigi came by twice - first to give us an initial estimate, and then to answer more questions about our options if we chose not to replicate what was there before. We felt he was honest and not pushy when we asked about bluestone vs reproducing the slate mosaic we currently had. He had a book of previous projects which helped us decide what would work with our 90 year old house. Job was done in one day as promised and looks beautiful!

Very good experience! Leading up to the job, Luigi periodically kept us informed on scheduling (each day of rain postpones all work for a day, and we had a rainy July). Then, he and his men performed the work, which included installing a new fence, in a very structured way -- section by section over several days. Luigi also suggested and added a couple of creative touches, such as a gently curved walkway (we had planned it as straight, with no design) leading from the driveway to both our front steps and the main walkway (see below). He even accommodated our need for a way to get our dog out to the street multiple times each day, even as access to our two entrances was ever-changing. The finished product looks outstanding, and has really enhanced our home and property.

The work went great. Luigi is very communicative and his workers very neat. We have tenants at the house and neighbors all impacted by cement work. Luigi handled everything seamlessly, with no complaints. I would hire him again.

It went Excellent! Everything he said would happen did. We were a little set back because of rain, but he was ready. Once rain stopped he called and told me when he would arrive and when he would be done. I have the best concrete driveway on the block! everyone came to see. We love his honesty and punctuality so much, we tipped a $100.00. (WE HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE). We never tipped on our previous construction projects. He was well worth it! God Speed! And Thank you Mr. Luigi!! ps. His workers are respectful and polished and uniformed. (these are not day laborers). They are professionals! Thanks to them too.!!

A beautiful, meticulous job. Arrived promptly & worked tirelessly, despite the cold weather. Luigi made certain the bricks were to my liking; he supervised the job throughout; his customer service is terrific. The brickwork is truly a work of art.....Luigi delivered all he'd promised. This is the second time hiring Luigi and team for the job. Beautiful work and very happy with end result. Luigi and team take pride in their work and it shows.

Although we had no work done, he was on time for the appt, he was courteous, and provided us with a fair quote.

Luigi was very professional from the moment we met him. He explained what he could do and the quality of work we could expect. He met and exceeded our expectations. He oversaw every aspect of the project. Luigi was there every day overseeing the work and participating in the work. He was methodical in every aspect of the work, taking the time and materials to do the work as perfectly as possible. Instead of laying the concrete directly in the dirt he laid down gravel, went over it with a machine, laid down heavy grade wire mesh and did each part of the project separately so that he took enough time to give every part of the work his full attention not rushing any part of the work. He seemed to spare no expense in terms of worker time, man power, his personal time and quality of materials. When he saw that he could improve part of the work by removing more concrete in the 2nd part of the work behind the garage he did this at no extra charge. This was typical of the type of work he did where he took extra steps to improve landscaping to match the quality of work without charge. He used quality cement that was combined with stone. This appeared to me to be the professional high grade cement. His workers were highly skilled and took a great deal of time and effort to give a finished quality appearance. My wife and I are very satisfied with the work and would highly recommend him.

Called twice to the phone number left on Angie's list website, nobody answered. I saw their website has another phone number, I thought that would be the one in the office, so I called again. I don't know who answered the phone, I guess the owner? Once the phone picked up, YELLING me and said "I don't know who you are,but you have called three times with the same phone number, you'd better have the good excuse or unless it's an emergency" EXCUSE ME?????? I called during BUSINESS HOURS, and I thought this is the right BUSINESS PHONE NUMBER? Please don't call me again, I don't want to get yelled by you anymore.

He does excellent work. If I could give him A++++ rating I would.

I shopped for contractors and Luigi excelled in pricing and professionalism. The project took longer than expected to start due to a disgruntle neighbor and Luigi was very patient and accomodating.

I had a DOT Violation and needed the sidewalk replaced. I did my homework before I went with Luigi. He wasn't the most expensive nor was he the cheapest. His price was fair and he did the right thing. He didn't try to take shortcuts or shortchange me. I've seen my fair share of shady contractors in the past. Luigi was there every step of the way. He was courteous, professional and he took care of the work with pride. It has been over 4.5 months since his work is completed. My DOT violation has been dismissed and my concrete looks great. I'm really happy that I chose him and will definitely look forward to hiring him for future concrete/masonry services.

Luigi was a pleasure. His prices were not the highest, not the lowest, but when I met him for an estimate, he struck me as the most dependable, reasonable contractor to hire. That impression turned out to be true. In negotiating the price during the estimate, he kept a big picture point of view and didn't nickle and dime the smaller components of the job. For example, after agreeing on a price, as we walked to my porch to sign the contract, he noticed the bricks on my front steps could use some pointing and said he'd take of that at no additional charge. When the city decided to chop up the sidewalk to replace a gas line the day after we signed our contract, Luigi was very accommodating and split the job into thirds (something in my experience contractors don't like to do) to work around them. Luigi was on site during each day of work supervising his crew of two to three guys. He repaired and extended an existing retaining wall and coated the cement work with stucco to match the original wall. He replaced the front section of my driveway, and when the city ended up replacing the driveway apron which they demolished during the gas line replacement, but, which was also part of my contract with Luigi, Luigi actually refunded me a portion of the agreed-upon price. Luigi is honest, professional, and seems to me to know his trade. I'm very happy with his work and would highly recommend him.

I never expected to see much difference between the before an after since the design wasn't changed at all. I figured the porch and stairs would become stable and generally look better cared for. But WOW, I LOVE the front of my house now. LUIGI's suggestions were absolutely right. The stonework is meticulous, beautiful and enhances the exterior way beyond any expectations. The house is almost 80 years old and although the work is new it blends beautifully with the rest of the house while making it look better. In addition he oversaw all the work himself, arrived with his crew early ever day, finished ahead of schedule, and is one of the nicest guys you could meet. I would have had him do my stone walls and driveway too but that will have to wait. I recommend Luigi 100% without reservation. I will be using him again.

I normally NEVER EVER hire the first contractor I meet as I like to do comparison shopping whereby my husband doesn't. He was impressed with Luigi and hired him on the spot where I would have honestly preferred to have waited and check out a few more contractors. I thought he was a bit overpriced but my husband insisted that I stop wasting time. You see, I had to pay for the pavers, it was not included in the cost which I thought was strange and when I mentioned this he said they never are, his price was just the labor, and debris removal. The job overall did go well except for a few hiccups with measurements. The brick yard I normally deal with had to go back and forth with Luigi a few times on the amount of pavers needed as there was a miscalculation. I unfortunately then needed to purchase additional pavers which added to cost and added two extra days to completions time as the pavers I selected had to be ordered as they had a limited amount in stock at the brickyard, but all in all, the project turned out magnificent, absolutely beautiful work. Luigi is very prompt, very responsive, courteous, and his crew comes on time.

Everything went smoothly. They show up on time, got the job done in one day. Came back next day to pick up the tarp which was used covered up the new sidewalk due to possible rain in the afternoon on the day of the job.

Contactor initiated contact the same day when I submitted the Angies List work request. Very good A+ The contractor was very professional and stayed in communication with me from beginning, setting up appointment and sending a proposal. Very good A+ Unfortunately I did not go with this contractor for various mainly due to pricing; I was in a very stringent budget. The sidewalk violation for the City of NY outlined the cost for square feet which I think was very good information given that I know very little of concrete pourring. If the City of NY were to do the work for me by hiring a contractor the for was: 15.45 per Square feet for Sidewalks (4 in of concrete pouring) and 17.45 for driveways (7 inches of concrete pouring). I did not find any discounts at all by looking for my contractor versus letting the City of NY doing the work for me. I think the biggest differentiator between hiring a contractor versus the city performing the job is that I only would pay for the pricing of the concrete and not the overhead and me not doing the leg work. I found a contractor through a family member that was very good in pricing and this is the reason why I made this decision.
