Island Wide Tile

This is our first experience using Angies list. We got several prices on having our kitchen floor tiled. Sergio of Island Wide Tile gave us the most reasonable one and gave us a great finished product. He was punctual and professional. We are very pleased with the result and are having him back to price the tile backsplash.

Sergio spackled, patched , sanded etc bad spots on the walls & ceiling of our 300+ square foot dining room. He also went to home depot on his own time & picked up all materials, He came 3 times, 1st time to spackle & sand, 2nd time same thing, 3rd time he put up crown molding. He was patient with all our questions, & the work we wanted done. he did everything to perfection & it all looks fantastic. He was always pleasureable-(Some contractors come to my house & act like they're doing you a favor showing up). he knows what he's doing & he does it right. Never mind if I like it, his work kas to measure up to his standards. Sergio was a great worker & we look forward to doing more projects with him in the future. He also spackled & sanded a few other spots in the house that had nothing to do with the original quote. He went above & beyond.

It was an excellent experience .We saw island wide tile on Angie's list and notified Sergio. He got right back to us and came over for an estimate. We had to order the tile which took 10 days and Sergio and his dad performed the work about 2 weeks later. If you wan't tile installed go with Sergio. He is very professional and him and his dad did a wonderful job. We have had friends and family over the past week and everyone has been so impressed with the way the tile looks. You can't find two nicer installers and their attention to detail is so professional My wife and I could not be happier with the way the tile was installed

They set up a station outside to cut the tiles and they covered all the kitchen surfaces with drop cloth. The job took 4 hours and they cleaned up very thoroughly and left all the remaining supplies neatly in the box. They did an absolutely amazing job. Every tile looks perfect!!! We are so happy with it. We would definitely recommend them and use them in the future.

Sergio is an absolute pro. His price was fair. He was prompt, professional, and expertly skilled. He worked efficiently and very cleanly. I felt confident about every step of the process and the work was exceptional. He showed up when he said he would and worked steadily until finished. He was neat and professional. He left the job each day without any mess or debris. Sergio went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with the work. We will be using his services again. I have already asked him back to replace the bedroom doors and some other work. I look forward to working with him again. I have never had a better contractor experience. I recommend him unconditionally.

Working with Sergio is an absolute pleasure. He listens to what you want and delivers. The bathroom exceeded our expectations and Sergio absolutely went above and beyond. Sergio did a wonderful job on my backsplash! I was very pleased! He was spot on..a clean, steady, confident, and meticulous craftsman. Very professional and yet very comfortable to engage with. He picked out and bought the grout for me (not knowing which to pick), finished very timely, and helped my husband adjust a patio door for a very nominal fee. I have given his reference to those who viewed his work, and offer my opinion to those who decide to obtain his services.

Sergio is the best. I have an old 1930's house with the original tile job. He gave me a fair price to tile over the old tile. His work is masterful. His ability to make clean cuts for complex nooks and crannies is something to behold. He and his dad are incredibly nice. They were punctual and did a superb job. I will hire him again for future jobs.

It went just as planned

Sergio arrived promptly. He and his assistant worked in timely fashion. Since I didnt know what grout to buy he had picked that up ahead of time. During job he had to make run to HomeDepot for plumbing supplies as bathroom is old and some things needed to be replaced (bolts for toilet, e.g.). He and his assistant were courteous and cleaned up beautifully when finished. Would definitely use him again and recommend to others.

The job went perfectly. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. The best part was that Sergio fit my job in at the last minute, which has saved me from having all the stuff that belongs in my kitchen all over the place for too long. Excellent work! And so easy to work with!

I called Sergio for some phone advice. He said that he would be willing to come to the house and look at the floor. I told him that I was not looking for more tile work at this time. He said he understood that but was still willing to come. He came to my house in the late afternoon this past Sunday. He gave me some acid floor cleaner and told me to give it a try. If the cleaner did not work, he suggested that I contact "Stanley Steemer." I thanked him very much and offered to pay him for a service call. He refused payment of any kind! What a guy! h

Purchased big deal. Sergio contacted me within 24 hours to look at the job. He arrived on time, answered my questions and offered a few suggestions. Sergio came by to seal the tiles 3 days prior to installation. Sergio and his Dad, Joe, arrived the day of installation on time, put down tarps, set up their tools and went to work. These men take great pride in their craft and it shows in the finished product. My micro needed to be mounted above the stove and I hired a handyman for the job. He was not able to do the job. Sergio came to my home and gave me a very reasonable estimate. After reviewing the list of estimates, we decided to pick Sergio. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable about the job. We felt like he would best suit our needs. We decided on a date for the start of install and sergio and his father were on time with a great attitude. The first day was demo day. They were very quick and cleaned up as they worked. it was a great start to our project. They were always 10 minutes early everyday to work. We bought a 6x24 porcelain wood grain tile. He laid the tile with perfection. While sergio was there he noticed i needed some help with some other things in the house. He offered to help me, and i accepted. He did a great job helping me out. The tile took about 5 days to completion, and it looks fantastic. My wife and I are very happy we chose to hire Sergio and we will definitely hire him again!

I contacted Sergio based on his good reviews and left him a voicemail. He called back within the hour and he fit me into his schedule that evening to come quote the job. He arrived that night and was very friendly. He quoted a fair price for the job and, due to a cancellation, was able to fit us in the next day to do the work. The next morning he and his father arrived right on time and got right to work. They did a fantastic job with the backsplash. You can tell they take great pride in their work. Sergio Martins (owner) and his father, Joe, did outstanding work. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. It was an all day job (about 9 hours). They arrived early, on time, and got right to work with the tiles and grout we supplied. Sergio had come out a week earlier to apply sealer to the tile that we laid out on tables in the garage. He also suggested that the number of courses of the border be reduced from three to two to avoid problems where the electric outlets were located. They put large drop cloths on the counters and floor and set up the tile-cutting saw on the driveway. When it was done they gave me the option of reinstalling the electrical outlets immediately, but recommended that it not be done for at least 24 hours to allow time for the grout to fully dry and set. Since I'm a DIYer I took their advice and reinstalled them myself. Because of the tile thickness, they required longer screws. Sergio and Joe worked continuously and carefully and left everything spic and span. The kitchen looks terrific and we're very pleased.

Sergio is the best. We were on a family vacation and left everything in his hands. Island Wide completed the work on time and didn't miss a detail. I could not have hoped for a better job. Thank you Sergio.

Sergio arrived at the time he said he would, and first had discussion with us, as previously mentioned. He arrived with his dad, who was a big assist to him.The job was completed in 1 day, and we could not be happier! His attention to detail, and our wishes was (is) first-rate! We would definitely use him again.

Sergio was great to work with throughout the entire process, I sent him photos, dimensions and a description of the job and he got back to me quickly with a quote and availability. He answered the many questions I had. He completed the job in 1 day, where everyone else told me 2 days, and his price was incredibly reasonable. The tile looks great, and I look forward to working with Sergio and Island Wide Tile on any future jobs/projects.

Everything was so perfect. Sergio came within a few days of a phone call to check out the job. He was very knowledgeable and assured us that he would be back Saturday to do the backsplash, kitchen floor and that he could absolutely put in the soap dishes. he showed up right on time on Saturday, backsplash came out beautiful, he had some nice ideas for a design and it came out beautiful. He fixed the kitchen floor and it was seamless. he installed the soap dishes in the two bathrooms and they look like they were always there. he did an amazing job and he is very personable. he spent a day and a half at my parent's house doing the work and they were very comfortable with him. He was so sweet and respectful to them, that my mom said she felt like he was her son. You will not go wrong hiring Sergio, his price is right and his work can't be beat.

They were pretty good. I've used them twice. The workers that came out were wonderful. They are fast, reliable and their prices were pretty good, also.

There is always a leap of faith when hiring a new contractor that you don't know to work in your home. Right away I felt at ease with Sergio's knowledge and expertise in home improvment. He is a very talented tiler and a perfectonist. He treats the home as if it were his own and that is exactly what I was looking for. He was able to make the 1/2 bathroom look amazing with his personal touch on the renovation. Sergio made many suggestions that we acted on and were very happy with the outcome. A true gentleman and perfectonist, I would highly reccomend him for your job(s). He arrived on time and even finished the job on a Sunday because we are in a rush to get into the house. I would highly reccomend his work and plan on using him again in the future. A++.

We brought in Island Wide Tike after reading reviews on Angie's List. Sergio responded to us quickly and showed up to estimate out bathroom tiling job the next day. He was easy to talk to and took an interest in our project. He offered ideas that we incorporated into the plan. We asked if he could also install our glass shower doors and without hesitation, he agreed. His estimate was more than fair and we engaged his services. He started the work right away and arrived promptly with his dad, Paolo, every day. Sergio and Paolo worked full days and were meticulous craftsmen. The trust we placed in Island Wide was not betrayed. They did a great job and left the work area clean. Nothing we asked of Sergio was a bother. He and Paolo were happy to oblige us. Sergio explained that if we need him to return at some point to repair or replace something, he would be happy to do it. They stand behind their work.

Our house was in desperate need of a full renovation of 2 bathrooms in our house -a full and a half bath. A coworker had recommended Sergio, and we're extremely happy that we went with him. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, very personable, friendly and trustworthy. We've never done a full renovation before- there are so many little things to decide on- and Sergio was great giving us what he thought would look the best. The actual work he did was superb. Both bathrooms were completely gutted and new windows were put in. All the tiling and paint was completely precise. The bathrooms just look stunning, we are beyond pleased. Work was done in a timely manner and bathroom was spotless when he left. We have been recommending Sergio to out family and friends.

Sergio's work can always be relied upon to be of a very high standard. He takes pride in the work that he delivers and is always amenable to going that extra mile for his clients. He is also very meticulous about leaving a room in a clean condition, vacuuming and cleaning as he goes along. He is also very punctual in getting to the job and works tirelessly to finish a job in the quickest time and with the least amount of inconvenience to the people he is working for. Sergio is a good person, reliable, trustworthy with a good sense of humour, which is always important! We have used Sergio for so many jobs in the past and just do not want to bother with anyone else because we always get such excellent service from him. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any job, whether it be tiling, carpentry, installation of a bathroom or kitchen or laying hardwood floors - he does it all and no job is too small. His workmanship is of a superior standard because he takes such pride in delivering a good product and service. He is also very open to our ideas and always does his best to accommodate them in his work, sharing what he thinks will or will not work.
