Skyline Chimney Sweep

Joe was absolutely wonderful. He was easy to speak to on the phone, showed up a few minutes early and let me know exactly what the process was. He and one other gentleman inspected the two fireplaces and went on the roof and took a look at the chimneys. He said the fireplaces were clean, gave me some great information on things to consider with one of them. He was wonderful and we will definitely recommend him to others and call him again.

They showed up exactly on time. Did a beautiful job. They discovered my house had a second ceiling installed over the first. This required an additional pipe, not accounted for on the estimate. They charged me only for the pipe, not any additional labor. After installation, they lit a fire and explained to me the best ways of lighting a fire, how often to clean and other details I was unaware of. Two weeks after installation they called me to make sure everything was good. Their services were recommended to me by a neighbor and I'm recommending them to other neighbors. Their price was the lowest quoted and their job was superb.

They did a whole installation of a new dryer vent. They had to go through a couple of walls in the outside vent, it was extensive enough and I thought the price was very good, my son did too. They are very nice, courteous, made sure the job was done properly, went out and got supplies that were necessary for it - we didn't have to have them in the house or anything. The job was done, very friendly and nice professional people.

Joe and his partner Ron did an outstanding job. They're very personable and never did I believe they were giving me the run around as you sometimes encounter with other service providers. Our first engagement was a phone call with me explaining what I wanted to do, they showed up the same week to perform an initial assessment, then after my wife and I finalized which wood stove we wanted, they returned to perform final measurements and provided me with a quote for the job. This all happened within the span of a month (due to my schedule and the Thanksgiving holiday) while other providers wouldn't even try to squeeze me in during high demand season - was told by everyone else it had to wait after January. They did an awesome job with the installation. They didn't leave a mess and though I stayed out of their way they made sure to inform me on their progress. The entire job took only a few hours and before I knew it, my house was nice and toasty. It's literally 84F in my living room right now. Joe and his assistant were really great! They actually came a day early as they were in our neighborhood and it was going to rain on our appointment day. They were lightning fast - in and out in under 30 minutes, leaving us with a sparkling clean fireplace ready for the winter. As this is our first home with a fireplace, they instructed my husband on how to open and close the flue and gave him some suggestions on how much wood he'd probably use this winter. They didn't try to sell us a "maintenance package" or anything like that - they actually said we'll probably not need them for about 2 years or so based on how little we'll be using our fireplace. Very happy with their service and will indeed, use them again in the future.

We used skyline chimney to inspect our chimney when we first moved into our home. i believe he charged us $40 to come inspect it and do some patch work. We had a tree fall on our house during a freak wind/rain storm last summer. It fell directly on our chimney. Joe came over to make sure everything was safe and we decided we wanted to get a wood burning stove. Joe gave us the option of purchasing one ourselves or buying through a company he works with, we bought through him.. He originally quoted us $3800-$4000 for the stove and installation.. When he came to install he was very respectful of our home and very clean, he showed me how to properly start a fire and what to do to clean it etc... He's always available to answer any questions.. Final cost ended up being $200 less than the original quote, $3600.. We have saved so much money on electric since we installed it and joe and his crew are great!

Joe came highly recommended after our neighbors had him do work in their house. Being new to the area, we decided to have him in to clean the chimney/fireplace in our house. We had to wait almost two weeks for his first available appointment (its that time of the year) but he arrived on time as scheduled. Joe came in a declared that the fireplace was in good working order and the chimney was already clean. It seems that the previous owners had it done before we bought the house in the spring. Cool. Joe checked all of the parts (ash chute, vents, etc) and said everything was fine. He could have told me the chimney was a mess and charged me to clean it (I wouldn't have known the difference), but instead he said "you're good, we'll see you next year" and didn't even charge for the service call. Yes, we'll definitely see him next year.

Joe had responded last to a "smoking up the house" emergency for us, and he said that our chimney needed a liner to avoid the problem in the future. He came back to put in the liner. He came when he said he would, did the job very quickly, cleaned up beautifully, and then gave us a little education session on how to use the fireplace and types and wood and so forth. He was great!!! Sometimes he is hard to reach because he is very busy, but he always does call back and he comes on time. Great job, Joe - thanks so very much! Edit - Four years later we are grateful and everything he said was true and more then true. It enabled us to really maximize the use of our fireplace. This is a follow up review so four years later this it to say this is one thousand dollars was well spent.

We have a fireplace insert, and many chimney sweeps do not service them, but we were very happy to find that Skyline does! We had had a sudden "smoking up the house" event, and we needed service immediately. Joe returned our call that very day, said he would come the next day, and he came exactly when he said he would. He (along with a second person who went up on the roof) inspected our chimney and our insert, taught us how to use it properly, diagnosed the problem (we were burning the wrong things!). He was quick, thorough, professional, informed, and friendly. We learned more from him in 10 minutes than we had in 2 hours trying to look things up online. He made a suggestion for future work, but made it clear that it was only preferable, not required. We intend to have him return in the spring to do the work that he suggested, partly because he did not try to "pressure" us or try to sell us something. The whole experience was flawless, and he are so grateful to have found someone so knowledgable and reliable! And, his charge was very reasonable for the inspection. Thanks, Joe.

Scheduled appointment to clean dryer vent and chimney. Scheduled appointment and appeared exactly on time. He inspected the chimney and the dryer vent. Observed that neither needed cleaning and were in good condition. Charged only for the inspection. Was personable, prompt and effecient.
