Radical Renovations

We have a smaller upstairs bathroom that had not been touched since 1975. The shower had been unusable for over a decade due to leakage. The space had to be completely gutted down to the studs and completely redone. The contractor we had used several times over the years retired, so we needed someone new who we could trust. Radical Renovations (Angelo) was recommended to us by N & S Supply in Kingston and I'm SO happy we hired him! He's professional, responsive, patient and finds solutions to all issues that invariably come up when you're dealing with old homes. Plus, the crew who he brought in to work with him was also pleasant and professional. I would absolutely hire Angelo again...in fact I already am!

Angelo was the best. We had to go through a couple revisions of the plans because the bank's appraisal was much lower than we expected. Angelo, as well as Sam from Rhinebeck Kitchen and Bath, was so easygoing and responsive to our many questions. During the actual work, he kept in touch with us as to what work was being done as well as when. We never felt out of the loop. We were expecting dust and disruption for a full kitchen remodel, (gutted down to the wall studs), but Angelo did a great job of minimizing the dust and disruption. When the job was done, we could not have been happier. All of our friends have the same reaction the first time they see our new kitchen, "WOW!" We highly recommend Angelo and his crew who were all highly professional and pleasant to work with. So much so, that we had a party for all them when it was done.

Angelo was great and accommodating of our schedule. He was knowledgeable, professional and efficient. We would recommend him and work with him again on bigger projects too.

Although we decided not to go ahead with the remodel, I did want to say that Radical Renovations was very timely responding, extremely professional, and very friendly to deal with. They came to our house a number of times to take measurements and ask questions, and they provided a detailed, written estimate of what the project would entail and cost. If we were going ahead with our renovations, we would use Radical Renovations, and I highly recommend them based on our limited experience.

Everything went extremely well. Some carpentry work and staining of trim was required and done perfectly. Contractor maintained excellent contact, answered all our questions with patience and professionalism, showed up at our home on time at each visit, and didn't consider the job done until he went over everything a second time and asked if we were satisfied and had any questions.. He even reduced our final bill due to him not needing to a few things he initially thought would be required. What an honest guy! Radical Renovations will be our first call for any future home improvement work.

Amazing. The rest of the bathroom was usable throughout, every night Angelo cleaned up his tools and the debris. He organized his subcontractors (plumber and electrician) so that the work proceeded smoothly, and their work was high quality. The bathroom is transformed and looks wonderful. Equally important, it is now more accessible, has more floor space, and will allow us to use it as we age. Thank you Angelo for such a great job.

angelo was a complete pro, vey skilled, and a pleasure to work with. the quality of the work is top notch. throughout the project he was very reliable, gave frequent updates, consulted on solutions (it's an 1870 house), and the few issues that did arise were resolved quickly to my complete satisfaction. he kept an orderly job site and was very careful with the rest of the house and property in general. i will work with angelo again, and highly recommend him!

From the beginning, Angelo was very collaborative, getting our (sometimes vague) impressions and requests, and giving us options. He was flexible in allowing us to get our own appliances, and taking delivery even though he had not ordered them. He did the work mostly as explained. There were some delays caused by illness and so forth, but the work was completed in substantially the promised schedule, and, most importantly, Angelo took care to minimize the time dueing whihc teh kitchen would not be usable; for example by carefully timing counter template and the other components, and by installing a temporary sink between the old counter was demolished and the time the new counter was installed. We had a glitch in which Angelo showed that he is responsible and trustworthy: our faucet (a fancy German one with a filter) was either faulty or badly installed; Angelo took it upon himself to talk to the manufacturer and to the dealer, replacing various parts over several weeks (involving several trips from his base that is not so close) and then finally prevailing upon the parties to replace my faucet with a completely different one, that he installed, at no additional cost to me.

I had a great experience with Radical Renovations. The work that was done looks great and I am happy with the end result. Angelo was very professional , gave me a fair quote and finished the project fast.

Angelo Ruggiero was a pleasure to work with. Not only did he have great ideas and suggestions throughout the planning process, but his color recommendation for the walls was spot on. He also went above and beyond by acting as liaison between me and the plumbing supply store/tile supplier (thereby saving me multiple trips to each business). He was always available by phone, text, or email and would give me daily updates on his progress. His attention to detail and electrical knowledge proved invaluable, as during the course of the project he uncovered significant wiring problems. Angelo advised me of the issues and then contacted a master electrician to fix the problems. While the cost was unexpected, the urgency with which the issues were resolved was impressive. Addendum: sometime after construction was complete, I developed a leak from what appeared to be the new bathroom. I contacted Angelo on a Saturday; he came the next day, Sunday, to investigate. He spent much of the morning at my house searching for the leak, even climbing on my roof at one point. Turns out, the leak was from my other bathroom. Not only did he fix the problem, but he did so at no charge. I unequivocally recommend Angelo Ruggiero and Radical Renovations and look forward to engaging his services in the future for the renovation of my other bathroom.

Initially, Angelo Ruggiero provided a thorough estimate for the replacement of my kitchen tile floor. He was very busy and his schedule didn't work with mine so I had to chose another company. I was so impressed with Angelo's knowledge and professionalism, that I contacted him when I needed a carpenter to install new kitchen floor molding. Rather than incur a greater cost for new kitchen floor molding, Angelo recommended that the existing molding be sanded, re-stained, and reattached. He also reattached a saddle to the floor. Since he has carpentry skills, I also asked him to build a longer laundry room shelf and paint it too. I would certainly recommend Radical Rennovations since Angelo was very professional, hardworking and honest when providing estimates and performing the work.

Amazing! Angelo took a 1958 kitchen and moved it into 2014! By moving the coat closet to the other side of the back door, kitchen gained so much room and is now open to the living room and dining room. I was unsure of the paint color to use, Angelo had the perfect selection in mind. Being an old house, there were some snags to work around and Angelo did with perfection! The outcome is truly amazing! Not only is Angelo a first rate contractor and jack of all trades, but his eye for design and willingness to work with the customer take alot of the anxiety out of renovating and actually turn it into fun!

Angelo's workmanship and professionalism on this renovation were impeccable. He did most of the work himself, hiring a helper and an electrician as needed. All of the work showed a craftman's attention to detail, yet was done on schedule, within the timeframe we had requested, despite below-normal temperatures and a couple of snowstorms (Angelo worked outside often, cutting wood trim, etc., despite the cold weather, reducing sawdust in the house). Angelo was conscientious throughout the project, and when it was finished, about cleaning up, keeping clutter and debris to a minimum even while the work was in progress. He was personable easy to work with, and responsive to our ideas and concerns, always willing to be flexible and change or adapt plans. We felt that Angelo charged a fair price for his services, and tried to keep costs down by avoiding waste but never by sacrificing the quality of materials or workmanship. It was a very stressful time for us, as we were dealing with my mom's health issues and preparing to move her in with us, so having a contractor we could place complete trust in was crucial. I would recommend Angelo Ruggiero (Radical Renovations) without reservation to anyone who wants to do a home renovation which will truly be an improvement.

Angelo is the best! You will not be sorry if you hire him. Everything turns out beautiful. He is honest, punctual, and hard working.

Angelo from Radical Renovations was prompt and accurate with his estimates and worked with us on design, changes we wanted to make. He was more than willing to meet with us several times to discuss product information and worked with us to keep the project within our budgeted price. Being a perfectionist, Angelo took no short cuts in re-building the bathroom and completed the project within the 2 week timeline we had to work with. The end result is pure brilliance!
