The provider did basically nothing. An a/c tech came to the house and saw that the unit (about 1 month old) wasnot working. He took it to the shop. I called a week later ( this was back in July)and was told the unit needed a new compressor. And that they were ordering the part. I called back about 10 days later and was told the part was on back order and would take a month to get. I called Whirlpool and got them to send me the part. They said I could get it faster than Wind Service. I got the part a few days later and called Wind Service. They told me they got a call from Whirlpool and was told that the compressor they sent me wouldn't work in that a/c because it wasn't manufactured by Whirlpool. I was given a number to call, a company called Hisense that evidently manufactures Whirlpool air conditioners. Hisense checked out the serial number and told me that THAT unit was indeed made by Whirlpool and the part should work. I called Wind Service back and they told me their tech was on vacation until AFTER LABOR DAY! At this point I just wanted a refund. That story is too long to write here but I wound up getting about 70% of my purchase price back. The whole time I got the feeling that Wind Zservice either COULDN'T fix the unit or didn't WANT to fix it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I went to their shop to pick up the air conditioner around September 4. Whirlpool told me to trash it which I did. Bought it on Amazon from a vendor called the Home and Garden club. My advice is to buy things like window a/c units in a brick and mortar store so you can actually deal with people face to face. And don't use Wind Service. Ever.

scheduled the first appointment which was a week away. The service gives you an arrival time of 8am-5pm....I called at 455pm to see if anyone was coming or running late and the office is closed. I have no idea how this place is recommended by Maytag or how they stay in business.

I was referred to Wind from the store I bought my appliances from. Once I looked them up on Angies List, I have to say, I was not happy this was the company I was referred too, but what choice did I have. I called them and the woman was very friendly on the phone. They did not have a appointment available until almost 2 weeks later, but it was not an emergency. I was told I would get a call the morning of 3:30 and they would give me a 3 hour window. I received a call at roughly 8:30am, and was told he would be there between 10:30-1:30. The tech arrived at roughly 12:45. I was not too thrilled it was in a "unmarked" car, as a female I generally like to see the name of the company on the side of the vehicle. But since I was expecting a tech at that time, I used my judgement and assumed this was my guy! He was very friendly and informed me that the dishwasher has simply been installed incorrectly and I'd have to call the appliance store to come back and reinstall it. I do wish he could have fixed it, but that is not what he was there for and I understand that. Before leaving he also asked if I had any questions or problems with any of my other newly installed appliances (we had just rebuilt after Sandy), and taught me a couple thing to make them work better and last longer. Overall it was an excellent experience!!

Description of Work: Was referred to Wind Service by Maytag (washing machine repair). Maytag scheduled my appt w/Wind Service. Day of appt, Wind Service didn't show or call during assigned window of time. I called Wind Service & they weren't aware of appt. They looked into it & called back promptly. Wind Service apologized for oversight & rescheduled for a couple days later. I was given the 1/2 notice I'd requested & they were on time. Previously, used Wind Service (a/c repair). Frigidaire referred me to them for warranty work. I brought a/c unit to Wind Service. After not hearing back from them for weeks, I called several times & was given the run-around. They couldn't find the unit. Eventually, they did find it & repaired it at no extra charge (I'd paid the $38 diagnostic fee) & dropped it off to me.I suggest staying closely in touch w/Wind service from start to finish.

Description of Work: David P. came to my home to perform a diagnostic review of my Maytag Washer. He was exceptionally professional and thourough. After a prior visit from another company I realized what a true diagnostic review is. He was on the phone with the engineering department and checked different things over and over again. It was determined which repair I needed and he was very honest about the pros and cons of investing in the repair. I have decided, after a week of debating, to go with the repair. I requested David P. and he will be here next week to complete the repair. Would hightly recommend this company.

After Wind changed the bulb, the bulb went out again on 5/20/2012. I called Wind and was told that there was no warranty on the bulb and I would have to pay for the same service fee all over again. I tried to compromise by offering 1/2 of service fee but they refused.

Description of Work: None as it turns out, .This was a warranty repair for my 2 month old frigidaire gallery refrigerator that I purchased from Lowe's. I scheduled an appointment thru Wind b/c Frigidaire listed them as an authorized service company. My frig would not make cubed ice (only crushed). They initially came when they were supposed to, but then said they had to order a solenoid and would have to come back next week. I had no idea it would involve 2 visits since my time off from work is limited (I guess they can't carry a solenoid on the truck???). He just sort of made the appointment for the following week without asking if it was ok. Then, a day later, the frig starting making a very loud, buzzing, alarm type noise every hour and a half. They refused to come before the next scheduled visit even though it was waking me up and who knows who else waking up in my building. I had to call Lowe's who agreed to switch it out before the following week.

When they came out they said they would need to order a part. They never called me back and I finally called them back and they told me they weren't going to come back out. I ended up having to call Frigidaire to get the part overnighted and had another company do the work.

They scheduled a service call within the week. The guy who showed up was knowledgeable and efficient. They had to order a part so it took about 2 weeks before it was installed. The dryer works perfectly now and Wind did not give us any hassle about the warranty service so it didn't cost us a penny.

FELT LIKE THIS COMPANY IS VERY RELIABLE. THEY FIXED THE ELEMENT ON MY STOVE AND LEFT. THERE WERE MARKINGS ON MY STOVE THAT I COULDN'T GET OFF AND THEY USED SOME SORT OF LIQUID AND THEY WERE REMOVED.
