We met with the John, the contractor & went over everything we wanted to do. He wrote up a contract with exact details & payment schedule. The VHF workers showed up promptly & worked professionally throughout the job. They cleaned up our yard meticulously after each day's work. John kept me informed daily as to times & days that they would be at my house. After the siding was removed (to expose sheathing), we realized that the original window frames were badly deteriorated & decided to replace most them completely. John sent his window/door partner, Jim, to discuss options. They agreed that the windows should be redone while the siding was off, yet never pressured us, which we appreciated. Work on the siding had to stop for about 2 weeks while the windows were ordered. We installed Simonton windows, which aren't Anderson quality, but they'll do the job. Jim then installed a new front door, interior French door & storm doors, all of which are lovely. Jim & his men were great. They were very pleasant & patient with us. We have a 3 year old son & 6 year old daughter who are very curious & energetic! My son was throwing balls & his toys out of the open windows while the were being replaced & always had a million questions for John. John would goof around & play with my son & my son still asks when he's coming back!l in all, the job was completed in about 2 months, due to some spring rain delays. I noticed a few additional things that needed to be done (siding needed to be clipped off at bottom of house, need for stain to match front door) & John was on it. VHF is definitely a great company. They did good work, they were pleasant & they were honest & reliable. It's like we have a brand new house!
