Popkin cancelled my first appointment (emergencies happen and I was fine with that). Made new appointment. They called during week to confirm date/time (which they had wrong date). I corrected. They called next day to try to change time (we agreed on a compromise time). I had explained issue 3x and sent photos as they had requested. Day of appointment 2 gentleman arrived (both pleasant and kind), They took both switches off and were stumped. They called another technician and then tried calling their boss. They stated they WERE NOT licensed electricians but were rather working under the license of the owner. They returned with a switch that had a dimmer (this is a flourescent non-dimmable light). At this point I asked them to leave. I called company and they asked to send someone to 'make it right'. This gentleman arrived, explained that the technician was an apprentice and that he had intended to be there. He was carrying a Lowes bag with a switch (likely just purchased). This switch had a dimmer as well which he correctly noted would not be the one he would use. I informed him his technician had intended to put that very switch one. He told me the technician was "close". He told me the correct switch would be $125 and labor of $145 and would take 15 minutes. I thanked him and declined his offer. I must state that although the company was incompetent at making/keeping appointments and the 2 gentleman they sent were unprepared for this job EVERYONE that I spoke with at Popkin was polite and respectful at all times. That being said, I would suggest avoiding there company.

Technicians arrived with work assignment which said I was responsible for $100 deductible. Showed them the problems and they diagnosed the problem. He then contacted his the owner to discuss his findings. The owner then asked to speak with me and when I got on the phone he was verbally abusive. He tile me he was there by mistake and I needed to agree to pay the entire cost of the repair if the company that contracted him did not pay. He began threatening me by saying that he would take me to small claims court he kept on ranting leaving me in total shock. I could not understand why he was choosing to attack me in this manner. He took on an assignment and turned around and tried holding me hostage. He had an agreement to provide service and I had an agreement to pay $100 which was documented by his company. This man is totally unprofessional and not be allowed to serve the public. He ordered me to pay the $100 and that his workers must get out of my house. What did I do to you Mr Popkin? No one deserves this. Technicians were very professional and it was sad that these two young men had to witness this behavior by someone they should be looking up to. What are you teaching these young men that work for you? They are our future and it is sad that you would chose to attack an innocent homeowner.

Andrew Popkin called early on the day of the appointment, but asked me a bit more about the breaker panel. I sent him pictures of the two panels. None of the switches had labels. Andrew took one look at the pictures and told me what to do. It worked! No charge. This took all of about 10 minutes. The man knows what he's doing. I"ll call again when I have other electrical jobs.

They overcharged. The cost was very high which upset me. They came to do one thing and then wanted to do a couple of other things and the price was astronomical. They were good at diagnosing the issue with the wiring and alarm box. They did a good job.

I would strongly recommend Popkin & Son Electric for electrical work in a home. From beginning to end they did a very thorough and professional job. We were very pleased and will reuse them for future work.

Electrician came out to see scope of work and to do job or begin. I never got call regarding work. When I called i was told will have to call back. I never heard back. Another electrician was able to perform job week after in less then an hour.

The technician was prompt, skilled and efficient. He spent over 3 hours to get the job done correctly and cleaned up afterward as well. We have used Popkin for several other jobs and they've always been excellent. What more can you ask for?

Amazing fast emergency service, came over 8:30 am Sunday morning on Father's Day was having people over and electric to pool filter and heater went out night before. Came on time found problem electrical cord and outlet by pool burnt out and he changed both fast. Filter and pool heater was up and running again so we can use the pool and water would warm up for us. Would highly recommend him and his company to everyone...price was fair too for an emergency call on a holiday weekend. Will definitely call again for any other electrical needs!

The service call is $150, plus parts. Definitely worth it. I would absolutely use them again.

I believe they very much knew what they were doing. The two men worked relatively quickly and efficiently and they did a good job cleaning up any mess that they made. All around, I was quite satisfied.

Andrew(?) had a very poor attitude towards the job and to me. I basically told him to leave. Maybe he was having a bad day but that's no reason to take it out on the customer . I would use them in the future

We called Mr. Popkin on Thanksgiving day, in a panic. We woke to find half our house with no electricity. We were expecting 15 people that afternoon for dinner and had no stove or heat. We called Mr. Popkin on his emergency service and he was kind, patient and very helpful. He offered to help if the problem was in the house. At his suggestion, we called LIPA and they found that the wind had disconnected a wire. Seventeen people are in his debt.
