I never did hire the contractor for the work because, even after I followed up about a promised proposal, I never received anything. Very irritating waste of my time and very unprofessional!
Description of Work: I found PNP Craftsmen on Google and was impressed with their site and photos of work so I contacted them about a kitchen remodeling job. I stayed home from work for the appointment. The owner, Don, arrived a bit late, but did a through job of asking questions, making suggestions, and measuring the entire area. He said he would be back in touch with a proposal in about a week. When I hadn't received anything in a couple of weeks, I left a message on the website. I promptly received an apologetic email saying the proposal would be sent in a couple of days. I never heard from him again. I am sorry I wasted my time.

I started by calling a general contractor as the house needed work in many areas. I explained the time sensitivity and the need to prioritize the plaster repairs - when they finally came to the house they told me they could certainly perform all the work I showed them and would call me back in a few days with an estimate. After two weeks of not hearing from them, I had to chase this other contractor only to be told that the plaster repairs were out of their league - that left me only three weeks to get my baby daughter's room fixed. (p.s. after that experience, this other contractor got none of my business). I found PNP Craftsmen by doing a Google search (I wish I knew about Angie's List then) and read the limited reviews I could find, which impressed me - I spoke to the owner who said he have his estimator, Joe Rupp call me. Before I could wonder how many days that might be, my phone rang and it was Joe. I explained the time sensitivity and Joe immediately offered to come first thing during the weekend, when I'd be at the house. Joe was very professional - it was clear from the questions he asked and from his comments and advice on how to handle different spots that he understood plaster and plaster repair quite well. Joe promised to get me a quote quickly and he did. Further, I was afraid he would gouge me due to the time sensitivity and that I wouldn't be able to afford the repairs at all - but I was pleasantly surprised when he came back with an estimate that seemed reasonable. Further, understanding my time urgency, PNP Craftsmen arranged schedules to make sure they could get in _that week_ - which was extremely important to give me enough time to make other repairs and paint the nursery before the move. His team of two people were very professional. Lisa, who led the efforts, was very nice and accommodating. Moreover, when they began working Joe offered to provide a quote for some of the wallpaper removal - he was able to offer a competitive rate as he already had a team in his house. Getting to the actual work, Lisa was extremely helpful in explaining what was happening with the damaged ceiling - she walked me through how the problem occurred and what it would take to repair as a quick fix (patching the ceiling) versus a long-term fix (replacing the ceiling). It helped a great deal with deciding what to do. And to sum up, when you look at the previously badly damaged ceiling and walls you can't tell anymore that they were damaged - they look fantastic. And I'm truly amazed by how much they completed in just three days. Joe Rupp even came by after the job was completed to walk-through the house and look at each and every major repair with me and ask if I was happy with each. That was truly appreciated. I would hire PNP Craftsmen again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: My wife and I recently purchased a new home. It was built in 1926 and the some of the plaster was showing its age. We had a few particularly bad sections of damage, including a ceiling that was cracked so bad that it was beginning to fall, a large gash in one wall, badly eroded plaster in another, and a third section of water damage at the top of a two-story foyer. In addition, we had multiple smaller areas to be fixed. Lastly, in some rooms, wallpaper was clinging stubbornly onto the walls where it was first put 35 years ago. To make things even more challenging, some of the significant damage was in the nursery for our 5-month old daughter - and we only had 3-weeks until move in.
