Worst company to hire for any installation job plus high oil prices. They hire 3rd party people to ido nstallations and don't back up the poor work.

Received a home heating oil delivery by Petro on 12/21/2022, priced at $6.16/gallon. This was the ceiling price we were quoted in summer 2022. We were told that the price would decrease as the market improved. Earlier that day, we were approached by a salesman for Slomin's oil, inviting us to lock in an oil delivery price of $3.50 and a service agreement, which we declined because we already have an annual contact with Petro, with a service agreement for which we are billed separately. My husband and I were not told in advance what the price of delivery would be, but after the delivery was completed, we received this bill for almost twice as much as we were quoted for the price of oil that very same day. This prompted us to research the price of oil from different providers across Long Island for that week, none of which were charging over $4 per gallon for heating oil, and to look at the average compiled by NYSERDA & the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The average price of heating oil in Suffolk County for the week of 12/19/2022 was $4.80/gallon, a far cry from what we were charged. In order for the price of $6.15 to even be contained within that average would mean that there were companies charging less than $3/gallon, which is of course ludicrious. Both my husband and I called Petro customer service several times to discuss this discrepancy, and to request that they reconsider the price per gallon at which our delivery was calculated. We have since called several times, insisting on speaking to a manager and concerned that Petro is using summertime highs to engage in price-gouging their customers. In every single instance, we were misled by customer service representatives who dismissed our concerns, and were promised call-backs from managers who never reached out, and having our calls disconnected after more than twenty minutes on hold. Rude representatives refused to provide supervisors' contact info.

They came same day in a few hours. Fixed everything, explained how to use system. Did not rush. First time home buyer, first time using oil boiler based baseboard heating.

Stewart (Tech #756) was great! He arrived at the expected time and spent time performing the necessary jobs for this tune up. Stewart is an expert at this and he has an amazing amount of knowledge. He is also pleasant, helpful and willing to answer questions.

He Service was taken care of quickly. I have fairly new furnace. It was an electrical connection that was causing my lack of heat. Total repair was diagnosed and fixed quickly. It was covered under my Service contract.

We have been using this company since 1982 they are wonderful They come on time they work with you and do a great job

Petro sells you a worthless service contract. They don't cover items that are expensive and break. They are constantly breaking appointments, One appointment was from 8-12. They called at 2 and said they couldn't make it. Company said definitely in 2 days and broke that also. Will never do business with them again. Might convert to gas.

They are a higher price than anyone else. I would use them again. They have been servicing our house for 20+ years.

Petro staff is always courteous, professional and does the job right the first time.

Petro did a very good job and arrived within their time window. They need to improve their call-center service since it seems I'm always on hold for 15 minutes or more to call for service. Unacceptable

There was a secondary leak and they claimed it was my structure and i said i did not have a leak until you installed the toilet and we had a dispute over that. They also charged me tax and i had to fight them on that. The work was basically good, they came back and fixed the leak but i did have to pay for an additional part and they said it was because the part was ok when they installed the toilet. How could it be ok before and then not after. But they had done very good work up to that point so i just paid them. A discussion about the tax policy because it was a permanent fixture not a repair.

I left the company. They are definitely over priced even when you're locked into a contract with them. Say I lock in to a contract with them my oil won't go over $2 a gallon and if it goes lower I would get the lower price, but I never did. I had to call every time to get it. I left them in December and went with another energy group. Their delivery was on time. I did notice that if you were more than 60 days late then they hold your oil for ransom. They would not deliver, they would let you run empty. I was with them for 12 years. They need to have a more competitive price. Their parent company, Petro is rated an F on the BBB. I would never use them in the future.

Customer service person was very nice, but repeatedly told me that they sell complete systems only and do not replace components. I'm not sure if customer service really understands their products and services, which does not inspire a lot of confidence. Or, maybe I misunderstood their website, even though it says Petro provides CAC sales and service. Maybe I need a better home address. I called Petro first after compiling a list of A-rated CAC vendors from Angie's List. I called them first because some neighbors use Petro and are generally happy. I'm hopeful that someone will read this and follow-up since I think the happy customers in my neighborhood are a good indicator of a company's quality.

There was no cost, we have a contract with them. Whatever it was, they fixed it. They are very reliable and prompt when there is a problem. They are always professional.

They arrived on time and performed great. Had our heat back in no time. Service call was under contract so no charge for the call.

Petro has always been dependable. Punctual arrival, no-nonsense work, and good cleanup after. Couldn't ask for more.
