Vishnu was amazing. Quick and knowledgable. Pleasant and not rude. Nice to know there are still people like that around. Brian was also very amazing by accommodating my request. I needed service right away. He sent a guy right away even though he did not have one available. Great service. Prompt, efficient and competent.

I had ordered a whole-house inspection from BQ Electric. However, before the date they were due to come I had a serious issue with the electrical system in my home. Half of the house's electrical system was out ?including our main living areas and kitchen. This happened ON A SATURDAY at 6PM! I had only talked with Brian (BQ's owner) once over the phone to set up the inspection, so I figured I'd call him even though it was during the weekend. I called and pressed the option for if there is an emergency and left a message. About an 30 minutes later we spoke and he asked me to run down what the issues were. He told me he was just finishing a job and he didn't have the proper tools he would typically have with him, but he would be willing to stop by IN 15 MINUTES and see what he could do. Well, he did come by. He had some testers etc. with him and was able to troubleshoot what was going on with the electrical. He checked both the panel and the outside service and found out the power company was missing a phase to the house. From there he helped me call LIPA and get a service technician out to my house that night. My home is now fully powered. That's what happened, but here is why I appreciate and respect Brian and his company: 1. He provides means for emergencies 2. He calls people back. 3. Even though he didn't have every tool in his arsenal, he was willing to do what he could (which turned out to be exactly what was needed to help troubleshoot and fix the issue). 4. He asked a lot of great questions. 5. He bounced off his thoughts with a fellow colleague of his over the phone when he was troubleshooting. 6. Even when we knew the issue was with the power company, he helped me to connect with them to have someone come out. 7. When he was troubleshooting, some of the circuits came back on. He knew well enough that even though things 'seemed' to be working, there was a bigger issue. He helped to fix the root cause. 8. He took ownership of the electrical of my home (in a GOOD way). It was clear he wanted me to have a safe home and he would see to that. 9. I've spoken to his staff a few times since he came. They have been super pleasant and professional. 10. I totally expected a large bill from Brian for coming out on this emergency call. Granted, he didn't necessarily perform fixes himself, but he spend his late Saturday afternoon at my house. He didn't charge me. In fact, we had just went grocery shopping and would've lost all of those groceries if we couldn't get things up and running. He saved me a few hundreds of dollars by being willing to help. I really appreciate that. In a few hours, his team is coming to do the home inspection. I'm looking forward to meeting them and hearing their advice on the health of my electrical system. Thank God (seriously) that I had BQ Electric's number.

Brian sent his troubleshooter Bill, a friendly and capable guy who came on time, checked the situation quickly, diagnosed the problem and offered a good solution. He fixed the problem by running a new line from the filter power box to the lights. He noticed that one of the light fixtures was in bad shape and offered to install a fixture that he had in his truck, at no extra charge. At my request he also removed some old electrical equipment (and the post it was mounted on), also at no extra charge. Finally, he checked over the new breaker box that was installed by another electrician a few months ago and suggested that I might install a whole house surge protector, which I hadn't known was an option at the time I had the box installed. And of course he cleaned up after himself. I'd definitely use them again.

Mr. Quinn replied to a job I posted on Snap Fix[angie's list mobile app] which is great by the way. only issue was the Snap Fix representative handling this job posting somehow conveyed to Mr. Quinn that I was desparate to get the job done in a hurry. With this assumption Mr Quinn was very abusive and condescending when negotiating the details of the work to be done. i am by no means an uppity snob but Mr Quinn's behavior was outrageous. the last straw was when i agreed on his asking price he immediately changed his quote and raised it another $50. [from $700 -$750]. i know Mr. Quinn will have his side of the story when he responds to this. To the potential customers of his. BEWARE. This man is a "shark". i hope this review will help Mr Quinn improve his behavior and and ethics. The way to build a business long term is to be professional, courteous and fair.

Called promptly & made an appointment, and showed up the scheduled day. Scheduled it earlier because of the warm weather, & the heat in the attic already. Net & clean.

Brian was right on the money with his advise and work that had to be done. He men were neat and fast. They listened to me about my suggestions on the exact route to take with a very difficult run, evaluated it and thought it had merit and it worked. Snaked an entire room to my surprise without opening the ceiling as I thought they would have to. Basically Brian and his crew did what they said they would, in good time and expertly. When their local customer, a neighbor,r had an emergency they asked me if I would mind if they took a look, I said sure and they helped him and were back in no time. Curteous and Professional. I will use the again and highly recommend them.

Great job. They were slightly delayed but kept us informed. Job was done well and neatly. The price was amazing especially with the deal. In comparing prices, BQ's usual full price was less than competitor's discount price. Thank you BQ - we are so happy to have our fan so we no longer need to keep the garage door open when running the AC. Would def call them for other electrical needs.

I purchased an attic fan through Angie's deal, but they could not install due to the pitch of my roof. Instead they installed a gable fan. The guys were courteous and on time, called to confirm the day before and when they were on their way. Clean & professional, done in 2 hours.

Before finally selecting BQ Electric to do this work, I met with a number of contractors. I have very limited knowledge of electricity and was very impressed with the time Brian at BQ spent with me to thoroughly review the job and what it entailed. He is extremely knowledgeable on this subject and answered all my questions immediately. We had various delays due to inclement weather but Brian and I were in constant contact which made the process fairly smooth. On the day of the job, BQ's employees showed up on time and worked extremely hard. They were very professional and finished the job in one day.

It was great. We were happy. My husband is very picky and didn't think they cleaned up well so they gave us some money back. They were courteous. They wore shoes and put down a mat. They were pleasant to work with. The owner called to follow up on the service. My husband used them to put in an outlet in his office.

Electricians that came were professional, hard workers who really knew what they were doing. My husband's work room was being rewired to that it would be "up to code". I had decided to have more work done while they were at my home & there was no problem adding the work onto their load. The men were very neat & completely cleaned up afterward. I was impressed with their work and intend to call BQ Electric in the future if I have any problems. I highly recommend hiring BQ Electric.

I called BQ Electric because of the reviews on Angies list. Brian came over and after I told him what I needed, he explained what the Town's electrical requirements are for a swimming pool. The work was done in a very professional manner and done in the time promised. I would hirer BQ electrical again.

Brian came to my home within a few days of calling to give me an estimate, he arrived on time and was friendly and professional. I needed several things done and because one of them was time sensitive he arranged to have the work done within my schedule. His office called the day before to confirm the appointment, the electrician called in the morning to let me now they were on their way and arrived right on time. They were in and out of the house and it was raining pretty heavily. They were careful to not get mud and dirt on the floors or carpet and put drop cloths down down to keep the area clean. They worked quickly and got a lot done in a short period of time. They worked outside for much of the time in the pouring rain. They explained everything as they went along. When they finished they were very careful to clean up everything that they needed to move and put everything back as it was before they started. They even locked my doors. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They will be returning to finish the job as I needed it broken into 2 stages and I am confident that the next visit will go as smoothly as the first one. We are already considering adding work more to the next job. As a side note, my dog was very annoying (barking and jumping) while they were working and they were even great with him.

I priced this job with two other contractors and Brian's pricing was the best. I hired him not only because of his pricing but he was knowledgeable,professional and had a nice manner. It was a pleasure dealing with Brian and his crew!

!!!BQ showed up for an estimate and wrote out a detailed propsal. We felt comfortable with Brian and schedualed the work to be done. The work was held up breifly with the rain we had but was rescheduled for a new day. The men were plesent ,neat clean and cooperative. They c leand up and marked my panel box .all is well i would recomend them to anyone in need of electrical work

. They were punctual on the immediate call for service and came prior to all other scheduled jobs for that morning and were able to make certain, everything was made safe. They scheduled a second visit to do all the work within a few days and completed everything on the scheduled work order

nd So this is my 2nd raving review!!! Brian came out, we walked thru the house, I explained what I wanted, he gave his advice and recommendations. So glad I listened. The attic fan was not originally part of my plan. But my daughter's room (a dormer) is so hot during the summer months that the central air serves no purpose. Already, we see a difference. I didn't think I could install a fan because I thought her ceiling was low, but he suggested the low profile ceilings and her room looks amazing. The added high hats are perfect. I love my ceiling fan (the master bedroom) and the dimmers work perfectly. The guys who came were there for my last job, when they realized they wouldn't be able to complete the job in one day as promised, 2 other workers came thru and they jumped right on and it got done as promised. They explained the benefits of certain things and were very clear with any instructions that were needed. I know I will need more work done because your house always needs something. BQ will be my go to team for those projects!!! Thanks, Brian!!!! And Jake, and Nick!! And the other guys that came later :)

I had found BQ Electric via Angie's List, and selected them because of all their postive reviews. Brian was a gentleman when I called for the first time, and answered my questions enthusiastically, and gave me pertinent information. He then scheduled my appointment within two days, and I was very happy. I received a call when the two workers were on their way, confirming that they'd be here in around a half hour, and they even arrived sooner. I also had received a confirmation call the day prior. I received very courteous service by two professional electricians...everything that was being checked and done was explained to me, and the work was done very efficiently, and neatly.

the electrician seemed to be very knowledgeable, and was conscientious.

I met with Brian for the estimate which I thought was reasonable. He also discounted an outlet installation for me. I told him of my concern regarding a gas line being in such close proximity to the high hats and he assured me that he would be there the day of installation for the layout. True to his word, he showed up. I also received a phone call from the crew about 30 minutes before they arrived which I liked. The electricians were pleasant and accommodating. They told me that they needed to use plates to hide certain wires and I asked them if they could put them out of sight if possible which they did. I thought I would need to install new sheetrock but they assured me that what I had did not need to be taken down and worked carefully not to damage whatever they could when installing the wires. They cleaned up all the mess. After they left, we had a concern regarding an exposed wire. We called Brian the next day and within the week his workmen were back to take care of the issue. That was very reassuring as I had already paid him. I have heard too many stories of companies that ignore you once they have your money. This was not the case. I would not hesitate to use BQ Electric again. Thank you!

I had a small problem which uncover a potentially bigger problem.I explained to Bill that I would feel better if he spoke to my neighbor . This was due to the fact that I am not "electrically inclined." No problem they spoke and I was able to feel good about the need for further work. The crew will be returning June 2 to complete the next phase of work.

Brian and his team know what they're doing. I've had interesting electrical experiences in the past. The house I grew up in caught fire because of what we later learned was a faulty electrical installation. The fire had caused major damage to the house. In my current home, I had the Fan Man put up ceiling fans and when he went to test the fan in the kitchen, one blade flew off into the dining room! He joked that it was good he had insurance, but I was thankful that my toddler wasn't decapitated. Needless to say, I was nervous and really careful about choosing an electrician this time. Angie's list reviews led me to a couple of electricians, but Brian was knowledgeable, competitive and not pushy. He pointed out helpful suggestions regarding the installation. We set an appointment and his office staff confirmed the day before. Two men showed up to do the work and explained everything they were going to do. They were just as pleasant as Brian. They found a couple of issues with the construction of my house causing spacing to be off ever so slightly. I wouldn't have noticed if they had not pointed it out (and couldn't really tell after they did!), but it was nice that everything was disclosed beforehand. They made everything look and work perfectly! They cleaned up after themselves too. Brian even followed up with me the next day to get feedback on how everything went. I intend to have BQ Electric come back to do some other electrical work on my Wish List. I highly recommend them.

When called, BQ asked me to turn on a burner on my electric cooktop to check for the amount of power available. Although it was a Saturday morning, they showed up within an hour and checked both inside and outside electrical connections. They did a very thorough job, but as it turned out, PSE&G had an outage due to the whether on Friday night. PSE&G finally got the power back on and BQ called me to ask the status. I would definitely call BQ if any electrical work were ever again required.

I had significant work done by BQ Electric earlier this year. (I had found this company on Angie's List) Because I was verrrrry pleased with the quality of the work done, I decided to call them and ask them to look over my older home to make sure everything electrical was satisfactory. I expected that they would find something in this old house that needed their attention. They went from room to room inspecting every outlet inside and outside of my home. There were some minor issues that might need fixing. The great thing about BQ, is they list it in a priority order. What I might like done, what should be done, and what really needed to be fixed asap. They also stated what did not need to be done! Fortunately there were no major issues, and I planned to have everything brought up to standard, though nothing they saw was alarming. I was so pleased that they said that the house looked pretty good --- electrically speaking. I had every electrical outlet fitted with 3-prong, separate lines for dehumidifier and window air conditioners, outside lighting and timer and replaced weather proofed. Then, they inspected my brand new kitchen!!! I never thought there would be any issue there! It was just a few months old!! To my significant dismay, the contractor had made so many errors with the wiring that it was pathetic. Now, because the kitchen is already finished it would take so much longer (and cost much more) to repair because everything is now hidden behind walls. I had BQ fix all! Over the next few days, they worked their magic, rewiring a beautiful new kitchen without a mark showing!! Bill was the man in charge of the job and he is amazing!! Then Brian Quinn, the owner of BQ Electric, wrote up a detailed kitchen report that I could give to the contractor... the report is below. He took the time to gently coach me on how to approach the contractor regarding this issue. Because of his guidance and detailed report, I was able to come to an agreement with the contractor and was refunded a significant portion of the cost of the kitchen repair. Brian Quinn saved me $3,000. To conclude, BQ Electric: Is an honorable company... they won't rip you off They care about their customers and take pride in doing it right The work done is first class The people who work for BQ are skilled.... and nice The price is reasonable And, of course.... BQ Electric will be included in my next remodeling project! **************************************************************** The kitchen report: BQ Electric performed a survey/inspection for: XXXXXX We inspected the existing wiring in kitchen done by others. We found multiple violations and unsafe situations throughout the kitchen. A) Upon on inspection we found box #1 by side door to be a plastic box with a metal cable entered into it not allowing ground to feed threw (a metal cable must be in a metal box) B) We found box #2 fed from panel with #12 gauge wire. At box location found only #14 gauge wire feed outlet and switch. #12 gauge wire to #14 gauge wire was joined together in an unknown location (in wall behind cabinets or tile) All splices must be accessible and kitchen outlets (appliance branch circuit must be wired in #12 gauge 20 amp. Breaker over fused at 20 amp with 15 amp wiring. (wire will burn before breaker shuts off. C) We found #3 fed from 15 amp wiring servicing a counter receptacle and switch. All counter receptacles must be on 20 amp #12 gauge wiring and cannot be on with lighting. D) We found box#4 on a 20 amp #12 gauge wire at panel but showed up at outlet box as #14 gauge wire. Wires joined in unknown location. (in wall behind cabinets or tile) E) We found outlets #5, #6 and #7 wired in #14 gauge 15 amp wiring. All counter outlets must be wired in #12 gauge 20 amp (appliance wiring) F) We found refrigerator outlet wired with #14 gauge 15 amp wiring tapped from #14 gauge counter outlet. Refrigerators are only allowed to be on counter top if on #12 gauge 20 amp wiring A refrigerator can also be on a #14 gauge 15 amp line if it is an independent circuit servicing the refrigerator only. G) We found microwave, stove and (1) counter on #14 gauge 15 amp wiring on (1) circuit. Microwave must be an independent 20 amp circuit. Counter outlet must be on #12 gauge 20 amp circuit. Stove outlet cannot be tapped from a microwave circuit. H) We found (1) wall outlet on #12 gauge 20 amp wiring sharing a circuit with the 2nd floor wiring. Although this wiring was original and not replaced. When a room is demo?d 20% all electric in room must be brought to code.

Brian and his team of master electricians delivered exceptional service at reasonable prices. Mist importantly they were professional and courteous while delivering outstanding work. I hired BQ Electric to replace all 50 outlets and switches in my home. They even align all the screws so they're facing the same direction! Who does that? They also were very neat and clean throughout the whole process. I just hired them to hang all my new lighting fixtures. Thank you BQ Electric!!
